Hi Doodlebug, I did not have anything like that happen after the HSG. I had light spotting for 3 days after the test and then everything was normal after that. I just had my first period after HSG and it was fine. I would see if you can get in to see your doctor sooner and expain what happened. A 10 day period seems long to me. Did you feel light headed or dizzy while on your period? Did you o between the two periods? What cd are you on now? I hope you are feeling better.

ASR, sounds like things are going well for you. I am so happy for you. Are you feeling sick? Well, I'm entering my 16th week and starting to feel back to normal. We found out Friday we're having a boy. We haven't stopped smiling since, ESPECIALLY my husband and son. Soup, I will continue to pray for you and hope you get a BFP soon.

Hi all! I'm on my 2nd round of Clomid this month, this time on 25mg dose instead of 50. After years of TTC naturally, I just made an HSG appt. for this Thursday. I can' t believe all the medication I need to take before and afterwards. I was thinking this wouldn't be such a bad (painful) procedure but now I'm getting a little nervous. Anywho, this is my cd7 and my HSG is on cd10. Wish me luck..I'm trying to stay positive!

Hello ladies! I am new to this board. 28 years old, never been pregnant. I have been married for a little over a year, no luck conceiving. I am scheduled for a HSG on the 19th. I am very nervous. I see many of you are starting "CLOMID" what is this treatment?

Hi everyone - I had an HSG on CD 7 and am currently on CD 25. I got my BFP this morning! Not sure if it was the HSG or Clomid (100mg) or just lucky timing (we only BD'd 2x b/c my hubby was out of town).

Hello..i have visited this website many times, just reading over what others have written. I just wanted others to know that I am 33, husband 35 and we have been ttc for a little over a year, i had a HSG done early oct and guess what? I got a BFP last night. I couldnt believe it since i was so used to seeing negatives so i did one more this morning and yes..its still POSITIVE. I calucated and i guess im about 7 weeks along..which is unbelievable to me. I had read that after having a hsg it may help with fertility. Not sure if it did...but all i know is what it says on that stick. So...i just want to give others some hope...baby dust to you all:)

Hi all. I had my HSG this morning and everything was normal. Although they did say that my right tube was a little delayed in showing the dye going through so there could have been some debris in there at first. Other than that, I'm keeping all my appendages crossed that that was the case all along and this will be out lucky month! This is my 2nd round of Clomid at 25mg and CD10. Baby dust to all!

The post below seems long time ago, but I'd share my story and see if anyone can read this and share some experience. I am 38 now, I have had ectopic in 1999 and I lost my left tube, after that did not try to have baby till Jan 2007 and we start trying, went for HSG in AUG 4th, which doctor told me that my right tube is blocked. But I got pregnant at the same month. We hear heatbeat at 8 weeks, then 10 weeks 5 days I had cramp, 17th OCT done an D & C becaude I had mised M/C. My question is I read the post below, many people has M/C when they got pregnant at the smae month after HSG, does it meant that the dye may cause this happen? Is it better that we wait for one cycle to clean whatever dye or madicine left in our body to start trying? I am still have some dark red bleeding after my D & C after 3 weeks, is this normal? When should I expect my period? My cycle is 28 days sharp. Hope someone can share with me their experience, looking forward to hear from you. Thanks!

I just had my HSG done on Tuesday and I agree with some of you saying it was not that bad at all
For all of that have been blessed with a BFP after HSG did any of you have PCOS? Thanks for all of your help and this message board has made me feel so hopeful.

Clomid2BMom - November 16

Jlpo2I - I was diagnosed with PCOS the same month I had my HSG and ended up getting my BFP (10 days ago). They didn't even have time to put me on Metformin (I've been taking some herbal supplements and progesterone to help prevent miscarriage).

Thanks Clomid2BMom and congratulations!!! That is so great to hear! Can you tell me if you did anything different other than the HSG? I am on Met. 2000mg...and have been for years. I am not a typical PCOS as I am average in size and don't have all the other problems but I just don't get af. :(
Do you have PCOS bad? How soon after HSG did you have intercourse? Since I am unsure of when I o b.c I don't get af i am at a loss. Dh is getting a s/a done as we speak and the next step is clomid. THANK you for your help.

China - November 25

Hi there everyone, We have been ttc for over a year. Dh's tests came back normal except low morphology on the strict test. My blood work and ultrasound are all normal. I am 34 years old and my dh is 32. I am going in for my HSG tomorrow morning. I am a bit nervous and hope that it is not painful. We will be trying to get pregnant the next cycle while on a vacation on a beautiful island. I figured that it wouldn't hurt to wait one cycle . I will keep everyone up to date if this works and I don't find out anything is wrong with my tubes. Good luck to everyone here on this site. Please anyone who has had recent success stories please post them.

China,
I recently had an HSG (two weeks ago) and it was a little uncomfortable at first, but really not that bad. The doctor let me see the monitor as he injected the dye and I was able to see how it spilled out. Granted, my left tube was blocked at the end, but we sort of knew that going in. It was neat to see everything though. I have heard/read countless stories of women getting HSG and it clearing out tubes leading to easier conception! Good luck with everything!! Have a wonderful vacation and hopefully good news to come!

Hello ladies. I read all your posts and I love to hear that there are so many success stories with HSG. My doctor didn't recommend it for me and she told me to just start clomid. But now i'm thinking that i really should try HSG first. I just had a few questions. Do you think i should do HSG first and then if I don't get prego then take clomid? Is HSG covered with insurance? Please help. Thanks! oh and a little background about me. I'm 29, dh is 34. He checked out fine. we've been trying for a year now. Just getting a little frustrated. =P
