Zi, that result shows that my tubes are open becos the dye spills over and i am going to meet my gyna on saturday and my husband and I met on the night of my ovulation day even though he is yet to do his test. After reading about pple that got pregnant after HSG on this site so i made him to break the days we have been abstaining since he will be going for his test. I don't understand the meaning of m/c?

how long you have to wait to have sex after an hsg test?

Celia - May 5

My Dr. said to wait 24 hours before putting anything in the vagina ie, tampons, or sex

katesylver, m/c means miscarriage. When I had my HSG test, the doctor told me not to have sex for 48 hrs. We had intercourse three days later and I got pregnant right away. Before that we were trying to get pregnant for 16 months. Unfortunately, I miscarried. Today I went to fertility doc and she told me that I have unexplained infertility because everything looks fine. She will put me on clomid as soon as I get my period. I'm a little bit unsure but I'll try anything that will help me get pregnant. Also, the doc wanted to do the uterus insemination right after the clomid. I don't think my husband will like this.

I had the hsg, didnt work, now i had laproscophy, the fertiltiy people we saw said the same thing unexplained infertility, but never perused further tests to see that i have endometriosis, my reg. obgyn found it, they did 3 cylcesof artificial insemination that didnt work, and clomid, so now we shall see if this works i trust my reg. obgyn more then them they took us for a ride. hope all works out for everyone baby dust to all!

I just have a question? Did anyone of you had to do any blood test or any test before HSG. I have been told to do Sediment and Leukocit.

I had to get bloodwork done before my HSG to measure my hormone levels...and I was told that my bloodwork came back "normal". My husband's sperm count was "above average", and was the mobility. I started my progesterone suppositories before bed last night and I am crossing my fingers that my progesterone levels are up on Monday morning when I go in for more bloodwork...I will keep you posted!

i had the hsg test done today, and it was really painful, but after they took everything out there were no more pain and my both tube were open thank god .....so now i just have to wait and see what happend..good luck to every 1

I took clomid sometime last year April and nothing happend, this year March I took another clomid but was taken 3days after the last day of my period and during my ovulation week it developed serious cramping and pelvic pains that was so severe i had to go for a scan and d result shows ovarian cysts that might have been hyperstimulated. As it stands now that i ve done HSG I ve an apptmt with my gyna 2morrow morning and with the look of things i might be placed on another clomid but am afriad of it now don't think i will be able to take it again. Has anyone experienced this type of thing I need ur advice. I will keep u pple posted by monday when i come back to this site

I went for my Hsg on Thursday everything was fine. The test did no hurt at all. It was a little uncomforable but no more than a pap smear. My Dr. prescribed an antibiotic after the test to prevent infection. Dr wants me to try for the next 3 months and if I am not pregnant she will put me on Colmid.Good luck to all.

I had HSG done on Tues., May 3 and had a really bad experienced. But everyone reacts differently to the test. I had really bad pain/cramps, I was hyperventilating, my blood level drop down to 70 and I was breaking in a cold sweat. After 15 minutes of pain the doctor came back to see me and suggested to the nurses to give me IV. An hour went by and I was in excruciating pain, so they had to give me Vicodin--Wow, that helped the pain go away right away. About 15-20 minutes later, the pain was creeping back and I had to take another 1/2 dose of vicodin. I'm still experiencing headaches, dizziness and fatigued ever since the HSG procedure. I just hope that the pain I went through is worth it and that I will get pregnant soon. My husband and I have been trying for a year now. Good luck to everyone.

hi ladies, i had my hsg on april 8th and still no period??? my periods have always been on time give or take a day or two by extremes!! i took a hpt on 5/1 and it was neg??? should i test again or wait till next month if i get my period? do you think the hsg threw off my cycle completely?? i have never been on the pill or taken any fertility drugs???

In response to Niki's posting, I too experienced a similar reaction to my HSG. The pain was bad, but I was able to get through it; however, afterwards, I too began hyperventilating and started feeling very faint. My blood pressure was up from what it usually was and the nurses were trying to get me to "breathe normally"...it was very scary. I was able to come around after about 1/2 an hour. The rest of the day I was tired.
In response to Wantababy2, I would keep taking home pregnancy tests. One day mine was negative and the next positive! So anything can change just overnight! Good luck and hopefully you are pregnant! I got pregnant the same month as my HSG, as you can see from my previous postings. Good luck to all.

wantababy2 - May 8

hey babs!! how long did you wait to test then???

Babs - May 8

Hey, wantababy2...My HSG was April 19th and my first positive home pregnancy test was May 2nd. So...it didn't take long at all. The first one was a VERY faint positive but then three days later was much darker. How long have you been ttc, if you don't mind me asking? We were trying for a little over one year.
