Nikkie I also have very low progesterone the doc said that was probably why in the past I havent got preg. We have been trying for 1 1/12 yrs. this month my doc started me on Clomid and I finished my last pill yesterday. Hooray for me. now I have an appt on Friday to have a sono done and the doc will give me a shot of HCG (Novarel), he said this will help with my low progesterone as well as trick my body into thinking im preg so that the eggs can release and stay in my uterus. Im not sure yet what will happen after that, if I will need another couple of cycles of clomid but the doc did say that if I did get preg he would give me some progesterone inj so that all would go well. I hope this helps and keep thinking positive and all good shall come your way.

Also I just found out that my DH will ask to work here for a while instead of out of state. God is good. Baby dust to all.

Johanna! Baby dust to you as well. Question, while you're on Clomid do you have to go get a sono after finishing each cycle. I'm suppose to start after my spouse has his analysis

Hi K, In response to your question re: why you are not getting pregnant after 3 cycles of Clomid - I also went through 3 cycles of Clomid without success. My Dr. explained to me that due to the anti-estrogen effect of Clomid - in some women it can actually prevent you from getting pregnant. There is another drug - Femara (which is actually a drug used for women who have had breast cancer) - that you can go on. If Clomid doesn't work after 3 - 6 cycles, this is another option (less expensive than injections!) I am on my first cycle of Femara so hopefully this will work for me. Hope this helps a bit.

Hi Dianna, Thanks. I will mention this to my doctor. This is so hard and overwhelming at times, ya know. I think I may take a break if they want to do IUI. Starting to think it just isn't my time. Good luck hun!

in response to emmygyrle..... I did clomid on days 5-9 and this tuesday was my day 9 pill. the Dr called me and made me an appt for Tomorrow (Friday). He said to come in for a sono and to bring in my meds. He had given me a RX for the Novarel and I had to go to Walgreens and pick it up. it was the Shot meds and cost about $50. He also said I had to have sex befor I went to the appt so the shot could start working and also have sex 24-36 hrs again after the shot. I think the sono is to make sure that I ovulated and to see my eggs and the shot is to release them so they can be fertilized. I hope this works. I have faith and I have heard lots of good news on my Docs success with pregnancies. I work at the hospital so you find out everything on docs. And Dr. Deleon is a great doc.
I feel uncomfortable about having sex and then going in for a sono like that is not correct but the doc says that will up my chances. I'll keep ya'll posted.

Hi Dianna, Yeah, I think if this doesn't work (HSG and clomid) then I may ask the doctor about Femara. I don't think I'm ready for IUI or IVF yet. I may just take a break altogether, I don't know yet. Good luck hun!

Hi all, Just found out that my progesterone level is as my doctor says...kind of low. 5 I believe she said. She said its not a problem, however she will have to give me pills. My husband will have to have his SA then I can begin my Clomid. To think all these years, I might have been pregnant but not able to hold the baby
:(

Hi everybody. I just got back for the Doc I had my sono and found out that I O'ed on the right side which is my blocked tube. So I didnt get the shot of Novarel. The nurse said i can probably get preg if the follicle moves over to the left side and that she has acually seen patients that this happens to. I guess she saw that look of sadness in my face. But im not giving up. She thinks next month I will ovulate on the other side. and I had no problems with my uterus lining. She said that sometimes Clomid thins it out but that did not happen to me. So that was good news. So when I start my AF next month I will start clomid again. Good luck to all and be a fighter like me and dont give up on your dreams. Baby dust to all. :)

Hi everyone! I had my HSG and it was very painful even after the meds. I had no symptoms after my HSG last time when I became pregnant, I just kept haing weird dreams. I know that sounds crazy, but it prompted me to take a pregnancy test and it was postive, I am hoping for the same results this time. My dr said that my cervix was completely shut, which is why it hurt and why I hadn't gotten pregnant, he said it is open and now my tubes are open so we have our figures crossed.

i had the hsg on July 15th and got pregnant one week later. However, I at 6 weeks my pregnancy hormones are very low Hcg is 400. I retested and I am waiting to see an increase in hormone activity. This is stressful for me because I had to deliver a baby at 22 weeks knowing it would not live. So I am hoping every thing works out for me. At any rate, the hsg does work, it is very uncomfortable, and it only lasts about 3 min., so it is totally worth it. Ladies have it done!!!

Hey Ladies....quick question...has anyone ever had symptoms of their period (i.e... bloating the week before your scheduled period) but found out later you were actually pregnant? Is it possible to have "period symptoms" but really be pregnant? I've finished my first round of clomid and am suppose to get my period 9/5...I started feeling bloated yesterday and am thinking this round didn't work. I always get bloated the week before my period. So I'm pretty disappointed. I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light....Praying good things for all of you out there. Hang in there.

Dianne - August 30

Meka, does your doctor have you on Progesterone supplements? Often dr's will keep women on progesterone until after the first trimester when the placenta takes over. Try to keep positive. I also had a stillbirth at 25 1/2 weeks so I know how hard it is to lose a baby. My prayers are with you.

stephanie - August 30

meka, my prayers are with you. Nikki, I had "breakthough bleeding" with my son Preston. I didn't have cramps, ut I thought I was having a short, light period. I was pregnant.

Nikki - August 30

Thanks Stephanie...I've heard that some women actually have very light periods/spotting during pregnancy but I just wasn't sure if it held true for "other" pms symptoms (more specifically bloating)...thanks again for sharing your experience. Good luck to you.
