Hi Ladies: Would love to hear from you - I am now 9 days past ovulation and am having some symptoms of pregnancy. I did a HPT this morning and it came back negative - crap!! But I know this is early - I was wondering when you ladies who have conceived got a positive result (on what dpo?). Thanks for your input and baby dust to us all who are still ttc.

pmblake - March 26th, 2007 10:34 AM

Hey Dawnn - I tested positive at 11dpo but I did another at 12dpo to make sure that I really was and that the HPT showed up darker. It did and so far everything is going fine for me. I implanted on either 8 or 9 dpo. Did you have a temp drop or spotting? Anything that would indicate implantation? Some women don't have any signs so don't worry if you didn't. So, having said that -- If I'd tested on 9dpo it would've been negative also b/c I was just implanting. Best of luck to you! I hope this is your month!

Oh what are you symptoms?? right after implantation my cervix was a medium height and really really mushy and my nipples were extremely sore and sensitive. I was also really bloated w/ a serious lower backache. What are you feeling?

Dawnn - March 26th, 2007 10:53 AM

Hi pmblake thanks for your input. No - no spotting but I never did with my other pregnancies either so I'm not worried about that and no ovulation dip. My symptoms so far have been tenders bbs' (maybe because of clomid - who knows? very bad heart burn - gassy which is NOT me - also alot of creamy cm - which I thought was supposed to dry up after O. I'm also sleepy - but I'm second guessing myself and wondering if my mind is playing games with me as I am so desperate to finally get pregnant again after two miscarriages (8 weeks and 14 weeks). Also noticed that I seem to have more salive build up - again maybe I'm just hoping too much. I see my RE tomorrow for my regular 24 day blood (pregnancy) test but I thought I would test anyways today - I am driving myself crazy with all this bbt and clomid stuff.

Dawnn - March 26th, 2007 10:54 AM

By the way pmblake: I have never really bothered charting my cervix position just bbt and using fertility friend.com to help chart.

lovemy3 - March 26th, 2007 11:06 AM

They say the average is 13dpo, ,but for me I am always way longer, almost up to cd35 with an ovulation of cd16 or cd17.

Dawnn - March 26th, 2007 11:21 AM

Hi Lovemy3: I know I tested early which I'm praying is why I got a negative result. But of course now I'm kind of depressed wondering if the test is correct and it's another bust month. It's unbelievable how crazy I feel constantly taking temps and checking my graph on fertility friend.com and comparing my temps with other womens chart - it's so darn disheartning sometimes. I wish I could take a break from it all but with two previous miscarriages and my age of 37 I feel the clocks ticking!!

pmblake - March 26th, 2007 12:19 PM

Are you going to test again before your Dr. visit? Sounds like your symptoms could be your progesterone rising. I know after O - whether you get pregnant or not - you have a rise in progesterone. Did you have a progesterone test about 5 dpo?

Dawnn - March 26th, 2007 1:17 PM

PMblake: No my RE never even mentioned about a progesterone test - right now it's take the clomid on days 2-6 (100 mgs) and see you on cycle day 24 for preg test. I wish they would do more testing like you say but the RE's office seems to take things slowly -ARGHHHHH!! My temp chart is going up which also gives me hope that it is now 9 days above the coverline - Fertilityfriend.com says if it stays above your coverline more than 18 days than you are probably pregnant - tell me who can really wait that long if you have been seriously ttc for 2 1/2 years. I tested today and negative but RE tomorrow for blood test which is supposed to be more accurate and can tell you earlier pregnant or not. Will be tested tomorrow and get results back Wednesday after 3pm - Praying I can make it that long. It dosen't help that I am on a leave of abscene from work as I am now totally bored being home. At first being home was nice - you know getting caught up on laundry , house cleaning etc. but there is only so much house cleaning you can do - starting to go loopy if you know what I mean. My fiance and I decided that maybe it was stress from work was the reason I was not getting pregnant. I have been off now since the middle of January and still no luck. It's even worse because everyone at work knows we are trying. They all went through my last miscarriage with me as it happened at work. I am a dental assistant and work with only women except for my employer the dentist who is male - but even he knows we are having problems conceiving. I am supposed to go back to work in April and I was hoping to be pregnant by then but unfortunatley nothing yet.

capricornmomma - March 26th, 2007 11:46 PM

it differs from person to person i have two helthy boys but didnt get a positive test until my period was a little over a week late. but some are lucky and test positive before af is even due so if i were you i would waita few days and test again, if still negtive you can go get blood test if you cant wait anymore.

pmblake - March 27th, 2007 7:49 AM

Good luck at the dr today Dawn. Let me know how it turns out! That's terrible that you'll have to wait until tomorrow afternoon for the results. Is this an RE or an OB? RE's are usually alot quicker w/ results. See if they can run it "stat" that's what my OB does to make it come back quicker. Anyway, sounds as if you're as anxious as I am this time of month. Wishing you positives!

Dawnn - March 27th, 2007 12:10 PM

hi pmblake: I went to the doctors this morning and yes he is an RE/oby/gn. I live in Ontario Canada and our health system here dictates pretty much how far you can go with medical procedures. I think in the U.S. where you have to pay for your medical expenses you can ask to have blood work done stat as you say and then you are probably billed for the test to be run "stat". Am I correct or way off?? So here in Ontario the tests that doctors put you through they pay for. Therefore they do not like to do any type of extra tests that are not absolutley ecessary or rush any tests as that is money out of their pockets. What a crappy health system plan. I know I shouldn't bitch excuse the language - especially since we don't pay anything but darn it all I wish they could hurry up with my preg results. O.k. I feel better now venting. The nurse did say that my bbt chart looked really nice - ovulation wise that is - not necessarily pregnancy. I think they don't won't to give you even a guess as to wether you are or aren't pregnant in case they are wrong. Here's hoping today fly's by and hoping for that poistive phone call tomorrow afternoon. Wishing you and all the women here the best baby dust possible!! Take care.

pmblake - March 28th, 2007 2:26 PM

Oh yeah I've heard about Canadian healthcare...although it's terrible having to wait and move along so slowly at least you're not going broke in the process! Let me know how your test goes today! I know you should get results very soon.

Dawnn - March 29th, 2007 11:52 AM

Hi pmblake: yeah I got my results back - BFN - so depressing - but the RE is now switching me Femara which supposedly has less bad side effects (e.g. my bitchiness) and also has a higher success rate than the clomid - so I'm TRYING to keep my hopes up that maybe next month will be the BFP. Take care. Dawn.
