Hi ladies - I am 29 and was just diagnosed with PCOS. My Dr. also said I have a very thin uterine lining (low estrogen) - I do not get a period. Is there any chance that Clomid will work for me? I just don't see how anything would implant. I feel like we're wasting time even trying it. At least he's only devoting 2 cycles to it...then we're moving on to IUI. I appreciate any feedback you may have.

Hi kelsmi: I too have PCOS. I did 4 rounds of CLomid and got pregnant on the 2nd and 4th only to miscarry at 5 weeks on both. So I guess you can say it worked for me. It turns out that I don't O very well on Clomid anyway. But I look at as I at least got pregnant. My. dr. said look at this way: You are much more ahead then some girls who have been coming to the office for years with no success at all. I think it is a good plant aht your dr. is only doing 2 cycles. Best of luck to you. I also have a girldfrind who has PCOS and Endo and she got pregnant on the 4th round of Clomid. She is due this November.

Hi kelsmi: I too was diagnosed with PCOS. I can now say that I believe that I don't have it anymore. A friend of mine told me to go and see a naturopathic doctor, I did and she pumped me full of vitamins and minerals. Alot of the systoms and I had with little or no cycles, not producing progestron etc.., they are all gone. My cycles some naturally now. I haven't gotten pregnant yet though due to my husband and finding out that me being A+ & him being a B blood type is another holdup for us to have a baby. We were told that the A rejects or makes it hard for the B to in-pregnate the A. They said in-vitro would help, I'm due to start clomid now to see whether or not it will get me pregnant. Anybody with anymore suggestions?

Best of luck to you calli - I have no suggestions as far as that goes, but it appears we will be on clomid together - I too just started. I feel like I'm going up the big hill in the roller coaster!

tynadu - September 4th, 2007 10:42 AM

Kelsmi- I to have PCOS. If you already have a thin linning clomid will most likely make it thinner. IUI will only be of use if you are ovulating, which the clomid may help you ovulate but when the egg go to implant in your linning it may not be able to if it is too thin. Now with that said you may want to try Fermara because it do not mess with your linning at all. That is what worked for me.

Hello to all; My name is Christina and I have been diagnosed with PCOS in May of 07 after a year of telling my doctor something wasn't right with me . . My boyfriend/fiance and I have been intimate for 3 years and ttc for 2 with no luck what so ever..I had no idea it would be so hard getting pregnant. I saw a new OBGYN in June but still wasn't comfortable telling her that I was ttc, especially since my mom was standing in the room and I haven't really discussed that with her either. Anyways, a few of my friends have taken clomid and are doing great with multiples and pregnancies , making me happy yet jelious in a way, yall should know that feeling very well. Anyways, I guess what I am trying to get at is I see her on the 29 of Oct. and do you guys think I should tell her and ask for some clomid, or there is a site online where my friends ordered theres( because doctors refused) where I can too order . What should I do ?

Hi Christina, I was diagnosed with PCOS 4 years ago and I was not activley TTC until last year I had 3 laparoscopys for ovarian drilling and also 6 months clomid and metformin and it still made no difference so myself so DH and I decided we would wait til we got married May this year. I started a low carb high protein diet in Feb because women with PCOS are insulin resitent and this is what they think imbalances the hormones resposible for ovulation/Menses but the month I started my diet along with 40 mins exercise 4 times a week I managed to conceive TWINS but sadly lost them at 16 wks in June as they were sharing the same sac and the cords got tangled. I have only managed to motivate myself again this week and start the same healthy eating plan along with walking. Im only 20lbs over my ideal weight but you dont have to be over weight to follow the low carb high protein diet. I also invested in a Fertility Monitor so I am hoping for a BFP this month.
Everyone is different and their bodies react differently to different methods so you prob would be best to dicuss it with doctor and see what course of action he/she recommends for you.

swtmokie - October 4th, 2007 7:11 AM

Has anyone used a fertility monitor before that can tell me the effectiveness of it before I purchase one? I have been ttc for 1.5 years and was just recently diagnosed with a person who has PCOS and I was placed on Metformin (2500mg) and Clomid (100mg). Well I just had my b/w done on 9-25-07 only to find out that I didn't ovulate and my progestrone level came back at a .06 :o( but I am not going to let that get me down, needless to say I still haven't start my period yet so next Tuesday if it hasn't started then I have got to start another round of Provera and then my Dr. is going to increase my Clomid dose to (150mg) and leave my Metformin at the same. I am praying that this round will work for me this time. But Lollie can you tell me more about the diet you followed or is there a website I can get an example of the diet to follow b/c my Dr. wants me to lose 10% of my body weight she says that will help me as well. Any help or advice anybody can give is greatly appreciated. I wish every one much success and babydust this month. We want more BFP's this month, right? :o) Have a Great and Blessed Day!!

Hi swtmokie I followed a very simple plan that worked for me , Cereal for breakfast like cheerios or Special K, Whole grain bread for lunch if I was having a sandwich - I filled half my dinner plate with veg 1/4 with potatoes and 1/4 with meat - It was the low GI diet I followed and it worked well for me you can find it on the net it will show you which foods are low, med and high GI. I have just started it now again but I also walked 40 mins 4 times a week and didnt eat 3 hours before bed and drink loads of water.
The low GI foods will leave you feeling fuller for longer unlike high GI foods that will leave you hungry soon after you have eaten. My doc recommended it to me as women with pcos tend to carry weight in their stomachs and this causes old estrogen to linger in your sytem for longer and cause a hormone imbalence. The insulin resistence causes our bodies to store the carbs as fat storage instead or using the carbs for energy. If you would like any other info I would be delighted to advise based on my experience.
Baby dust to you all

Hi calli, I was diagnosed with PCOS and a dermoid cyst around 4.6 cm was found in left ovary, according to pelvic ultrasound. My specialist said that I need to have ultrasound and harmone tests again to make sure. She also gave me Juliet for my periods. But I have vericose veins on my thighs and legs, and they are getting worse. I found out in the Internet that Juliet has side effects like vericose veins. So I want to try alternative medicine. Could you tell me how long were you on medication, advised by naturopathic doctor? I am interested in seeing naturopaths because they regiestered as those like that, not naturopathic doctors.
