I have been on metformin for about a week now.. 500 mg per day and in 2 weeks 1000 and then 1500 next...I was wondering about how long before I'm preggers.. I haven't had a period for a long time. So my doc suggested the drug and I can't tell if its working I don't even really have the stomach aches.. except in the morning today.. when I went in to see the doctor about my non exsistant period I got it the next day.. I hadn't had it for almost 5 or 6 yrs.. it was a little scary.. I'm hoping this wotks I really want a baby.. can anyone give me some insight and sucess stories please

Hi- I started metformin a few months ago, and it does work great to regulate my period. I have been on 1000mg since I started it because it works for getting my periods, but still I was not ovulating. Do you have PCOS? I would suggest asking your dr about Clomid. I am on my 2nd round of it now, but there are so many success stories for women who are ttc and take it. I am hopeful, my first round I ovulated i think probably for the first time in my life. Hello ladies I'm new to the site but I have been reading all the success stories. I am 31 years old and dh and I have been ttc for about a year. I stopped taking bbl Dec 2008 and every since then periods have been very irregular. I was confused be wise even before the pills I was regular and ovulation. I was told that once you stop you go back to your normal cycle well didn't happen for me. A few months went by and I had a period on my own in a 6 month time spam. Went to dr and they gave me prometrium to force a period to help jumpstart the process. The next month nothing so I was given promethium again and also clomid. First round on 50mg days 5-9, no ovulation. Second round 100mg days 5-9, no ovulation. Dr kept me on 100mg but added metformin. At this point I was so disappointed I didn't go and pick them up from the pharmacy. Plus I was in nursing school and I was soooo busy and it was expensive I decided to stop until I graduated. Long story short I started aggressively began to get the show on the road this year. Went to dr and everything is normal and healthy. I will begin clomid again this month at 100mg days 5-9 and I am currently taking metformin and prenatal vitamins. I am really hoping this works for us. We want a baby so bad. Seems like everyone around me is getting pregnant. I want it to be my turn :( sorry for the long post but I feels really good to express it to women who know what I'm going through. Also it was diagnosed with PCOS. Has any one just been taking 500mg of metformin only, seems like most women are on 1500mg. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)
