bethany, i am so sorry to hear that af came. when my first iui failed, i did just what toni said..i took a day to myself to eat ice cream, watch movies and have a pity party. then the next day i got back on my feet and started my new round of iui and had great success! hopefully this will encourage you a bit. today could be the first day of your pregnancy...you could be due 40 weeks from today. that's the way i always look at it. lee, your post to toni was fantastic!! i had tears in my eyes reading it. toni, glad that your tailbone is feeling better and have FUN at the market! and listen to every word of lee's advice cause she knows what she's talking about! hope you all have a great day.

where is everyone today? are we all still on this new thread?

Bethany - November 4

Ali - thanks for the advice....definitely will come in handy...feeling pretty low today, dh is away for the day and I decided to come home from work early; I am hopefuly that the next round will be successful but also realistic that it could take longer. My friend, who just gave birth to a baby girl, went thru the same program here and has been very helpful but is now busy with a new little one. Her story shows me that all is not lost and with the support here, I am coping. Wishing everyone gl with their ambitions for parenthood.

Bethany, hang in there! This is just a little hump in the road ...keep positive and very soon you will be having a healthy pregnancy!!! Indulge in something you enjoy this weekend. Tons of baby dust sent your way for your next cycle!

bethany, i am glad that you have a friend who went through the same thing and can understand where you are coming from. i also have a friend who went through 3 iui's before and it helps so much to talk with her because other than the ladies on here she really is the only other person that knows what it's like. take advantage of your friend's support and be encouraged by her terrific outcome!

i had a question, probably dr. lee will have an answer. have you heard that it is more common to have a girl when conceiving thru iui? my cousin's ob told her that 90% of women who conceive thru an iui get pregnant with a girl. i had never heard anything like that and was wondering if you had?

Toni - November 4

Hey guys I'm back from shopping. Had lots of fun. Saw cute baby things everywhere! Ali I would love to know the answer to your question about boys vs girls with IUI. Bethany glad you came home early. Have a big margarita this weekend!! Ali have you been sleepy?

Becca - November 4

Ali- this is what I have heard, that one king of sperm (cant remember if it is the male or female) is faster but weaker the other is slower but stronger. So if you BD (or have IUI) farther before ovulating, the stronger but slower ones are most likely to survive the journey and wait. If you have it really close, then it will be the others. Go to babyzone.com and look under gender prediction and it has some articles one that explains that. Hope that helps!

Bethany - November 4

What is BD?

Toni - November 5

bd means baby dance (sex)

Bethany - November 5

Thanks - was trying to figure it out - came up with bedroom dance so just about the same thing lololol :)

Hello.. Bethany sorry to hear about af. I understand how you feel.. Toni glad to hear your feeling better.. Isa I thought that there was someone close to me in my cycle... Dr Lee I would like to know your opinion about girls and IUI.. Amy good luck with your Lap surgery mabye that will be what gets you PG I did get PG after my 1st Lap surgery with my 1st.. Becca where are you in your cycle.. Hello Mel..

isa - November 5

hello, no news here. Bethany so sorry to hear about that nasty af showing up but I love the idea that today may be the first day of your 40 week adventure. I will remember that after my pity party on tues if i get a bfn. Toni so glad your tailbone is feeling better. For those wondering about iui's I havent heard girls vs boys odd but i did read that the girls are faster swimmers but dont last as long, the boys swim slower but have more endurance. They say to try and have a girl bd 4 or possibly up to 3 days before ovulation, to have a boy bd on ovulation and day after. Who knows if its true. I think you could pop a poll onto the pregnancy board and see what kind of answers you get. It might be fun to hear. How soon can they tell you the sex of the baby Dr. Lee?

Becca - November 5

Becky- I honestly have nbo clue where I am in my cycle. I had a BFN on Oct 3 but then never got af (after my 1st IUI). I didn't think the hcg injection worked because I didn't get any of the normal symptoms I have always gotten before with it. So Then, waited for af (only got light spotting), took another hpt got BFN. But since we don't know if I really ovulated from hcg the RE had me wait and then prescribed some meds that would even out my hormones so that if I was not pg I would get af. They were making me sick to my stomach so they had me stop taking them and we are waiting to see if af comes and if not get another blood beta test and other hormone levels checked. The reason they are being so careful is because my mom had really low hcg levels on all of her pgs and never got BFP until 6-10 weeks. So that is where I am at. WAITING. I really am ready to start a new cycle but this is driving me crazy not knowing. BABY DUST TO YOU THOUGH!

Becca - November 5

Isa- Thanks! I couldn't remember which one was which on the sperm thing. I have heard that they can tell as early as 15 weeks by transvaginal u/s what sex but most drs wait until 20-22 weeks. We have a 3D u/s place that will tell you at 17. Dr. Lee- when did they tell you with yours? My friends have had the transvaginal u/s but the people I work with are going to ob/gyns that don't look until 22 weeks. People I know from other places have found out at 18 or 19 weeks.
