Hi Girls - Yesterday was a day of laying around. The retrieval went very well. I don't remeber any of it. This morning the doctor called and said he was very happy with everything. We had over 50 follicles, all of them were extracted, 15 were mature and 13 have fertilized. We are very happy with the numbers. 6 of them were frozen this morning, 7 will be studied and picked for ET on Monday am. We are not sure how many will be transferred. I'm drinking so much Smart Water and Gatorade (very recommended prior to and after IVF) I'm so full of fliuds I want to scream. The fliuds are helping me avoid hyper-stim. The doc said it's one day at a time. It's time for me to rest on the couch. I'm sore but not as bad as yesterday. Key is to lay low. Thumbs up for the 39+ years old. If I can do it you guys can too (If you want). Lots and lots of baby dust to you! Oh, what is preseed?

hi TR, I am happy your transfer went well, hopefully we will hear your BFP really soon.
Preseed is good in helping the sperm to swim to reach the egg really fast. I hope this info helps.
I am thinking positive about the IVF procedure, thats the way to go. Keep us posted and BABY DUST to you. Did you do acupuncture?

way to go TR that is fantastic. What is smart water I have never heard of it. Take it easy and lets hope for a bfp in 2 weeks :)....Esmerelda yes they do have a good track record and lately over 40s very good. I just cant do it right now due to too much stress in the family due to illness. It would be a waste of money for us right now. Got af yesterday so we are going au naturelle again.

Hi Girls - Well, Monday was the day. They transfered three embryos, one was 7 cell count, one 5 cell count and one 4. So now comes the wait. I feel sore and hate the progestone shots. I don't want to sugar coat the shot... IT HURTS LIKE H_ _ _. I get the shot every night around 7:30pm. I think that my husband enjoys using my butt as a dart board. Ouch! It's for a good cause. I've been laying around since Monday hoping they implant. The doc said no cold foods or liquids for the first five days. My mom has been here helping us out and it's been great. July 1st will be the big day for the pg(hcg) test. These are the longest days. Hope you girls are doing well, keep in touch. Smart water is water with electrolytes to help circulation and avoid hyperstimulation. It's good. Do you guys have a store called SunFlower or Hi-Health? They carry it. I heard Hi--Health sells it for a $1.00. Take care.

Good luck TR, I hope you will have your BFP next week.
Take Care

Hey TR, hope all goes well. I have not hear of this about no cold foods, what exactly does it mean? My clinic does progesterone suppositories for iui and i think the same for ivf so I won't have to worry about that shot if I do ivf- besides I hope not there is no way dh will give me a shot. He is needle fobic and cant even watch me when I was doing my tummy shots for the iui's. I have not heard of that store but I will keep my eye out for that electorlyte type of drink. Does it have a lot of calories? I was told gatorade when I was hyperstimulating and it worked for me but it has lots of sugar and I did gain weight from it. Keep positive thinking and lets hope you get a bfp on July 1.

The doc says the progesterone shots are more potent. I have the suppositories too, for when my butt gets too sore. Our nurse has 20+ years experience at an egg donor clinic and says to avoid cold foods when trying to implant. We had never heard of it either, but the team seems to know what they're doing so we're following the program. It has something to do with the warm blood supply to the uterus. I was telling this to my sister and she said it made sense because when she was pregnant and wanted to wake up the baby, she would eat a popsicle. I am drinking the Gatorade too, but Iagree it's too sugary. Smart Water doesn't have any sugar. Thanks for the positive thoughts.

Hey TR, thanks for the info on the cold foods. Another question, is it only cold as in freezer foods or anything out of the fridge you should avoid also? (how do you drink your milk, juice fruit etc for this 2 ww?)This I find very interesting and of course when we're having difficulties conceiving you just want to learn everything possible that might help.

TR - June 23

They told us all liquids and foods should be at room temp or cooked. I will check if it's two weeks or just the time of implantation. I live in Arizona and it's hot here, it's been hard not having ice in my water. I have gained a lot of weight since the progestrone shots or maybe from all the fetility drugs. I'm very bloated. Only 8 more days till the big pg test. Long days. My sister is here with my wonderful 10 year old neice keeping me company until this afteroon. This weekend my husband and I will spend time together, more laying low but together. Next week will be long days for me. Chat with you guys soon. Take care.

isa - June 23

TR I am so excited for you. Enjoy the weekend with hubby.

TR - June 23

Guess what? I just spoke with the doctor's nurse and she said they recommand no cold foods or liquids for the entire 9 months if your PG. She said stay away from ice-cream or foods coming right out of the fridge. That'is hard for me. I like to eat carrots right from the fridge, she said let them stay out for awhile and then eat them. Okay, chat soon.

isa - June 26

wow TR I am surprised women have been eating ice cream when theyve been pregnant for as long as ice cream has been around. I don't understand the resoning once you are pregnant what does it matter?

TR - July 3

HI Girls - Isa, I didn't understand the cold food/drink thing either. But... We didn't get good news yesterday(Sat.) we got a BFN, we are shocked and trying to cope with the negative results. Now I get to look forward to a horrible cycle. They told me to stay on the prenatal vitamins for the iron. It just never ends. I'm num, I want to sleep all the time. Sorry for the sad news, I wish everyone etter luck, IVF is a rollercoaster everyday. Take care.

isa - July 4
