I feel good to open new thread. No more Scroll down. I am cheking my mucus and cervix opening. Usually we start to BD every otherday once I saw mucus changes. and BD everyday once I saw EW mucus. Within day or two I saw +OPK also after I got EW mucus. My BD get tired within 4 continues days. So than we gave up. That's what happened last month. We BD all 4-5 days before Ovulation day but didn't do on that day. But it should not affect much accept spermies are not live for more than 12 hours. Do they check sperms mobility hourly in semen analysis?

Galina - March 20

Pinky, honestly, I never asked them about sperm motility on a hourly basis. I just ask if his sperm was ok and they say yes and then I just go. Do you know what youroptions will be? Has the dr discussed with you yet?
Mega, the turkey sandwich is just ok - nothing special. My office is inBeverly Hills, that is why everything is so over-priced. The restaurants around my ofc are so good though. Ok, I am off to lunch before I starve.

Ah, I was thinking your office was probably in Beverly Hills, Galina. That certainly explains the $14 mediocre turkey sandwich! Have a great lunch. Katie, sorry about the BFN this month. Yeah, having a baby will certainly be an adjustment for you & your DH, but one you guys probably won't find hard to make at all. I bet the baby will even bring you guys closer together. So, you're waiting til May then for the IUI? Trying on your own once more is probably a good idea, hopefully you won't need to do the IUIs at all. Here's hoping. Your DH's SA came back okay right? I'd think the more you guys BD the better his swimmers will be too. Take care. Talk to ya soon. Pinky, when you say spermies don't live for more than 12 hrs, you're talking about washed sperm, right? Because when you just do BD, sperm can live for up to 5 days give/take, I believe. And Ann said that her RE said the washing technique they employ makes the sperm live up to 36 hrs.

Pinky - March 20

Not really for washed sperms. I have read some where that sperm life can depend on many factors after ejaculation. It can die within few hours if your vaginal has very acidic enviornment. So, It also depends on mucus fertility and type. There are 5 different kinds of mucus we can see during our cycle. From all of them EW mucus and watery mucus are most fertile and sperm can live up to 5 days (that's maximum) in these type of mucus. Majority of the sperms die within 48 hours. Fertile mucus basically works as a semen inside the vagina and uterus but vagina should have more base enviornment. That's why many people suggest to drink lots of water. Water can reduce acidity.

This may be a stupid question at this point, however: Why is it the "washed" sperm live shorter than sperm after bd?

Pinky - March 20

Go to this web site. It's my favorite. I checked every single link. Lots of information.

That's interesting Pinky. Makes sense I guess. For the zillionth time though I wonder why it can't just be simple--this baby making stuff. Oh well, I guess anything worth doing is worth the extra effort. I'll be sure to check out that website too. Galina, that's not a stupid question, & I'm not really sure of the answer. I guess though it's all in what process is used in the whole washing rigamarole. Well, I'm out of here. Have a good night all!

Pinky - March 20

Washed sperm can live shorter that's also make sence. Because They washed it with certain chemicals which can increase there motility initially but will end up to live shorter. Afterall chemicals are chemicals.

Ann - March 20

It sounds like the wash to increase motility does the same thing it does when dh drinks caffeine! I am glad we got a new post. The other one was so long that it wouldn't load on my Blackberry!!

Hello. How is everyone today?

Mega - March 21

Good morning! We had some snow here today as forecasted. Welcome to Spring! Not too big of an accumulation, probably just 2 or 3" now (enough to shut down LA & TX though, I'm sure). Galina, Ann--anyone else think this is going to be looooong 2 WW?! :) Yeah, it is very nice to have a shorter thread now. Let's see how long it takes to fill this 1 up again?!

Ann - March 21

It is so funny when it snows here. Even if it barely snows, they close our office!! This week the highs are in the 50s and everyone is talking about how it is winter and "freezing" again. This 2ww has been unbelievably SLOW! I can't believe we are only 3 dpo. Did you see that "husband getting frustrated" post? That just makes me want to freak out. I had to post.

Galina - March 21

Hi everyone, it is a beautiful day here - sun is out and the air is clean. This may be a gross question, but I have to ask.. Are any of you gassy after the IUI? My stomach seems to be so bloated & it is virtually impossible to go #2 for me. (I always struggled w/that, but now it feels worse)? I guess it may be a s/e also from the injectibles. I am doing my very best to not think about this 2ww, of course, I am failing miserably.

Ann - March 21

Galina, I never noticed being gassy with iui, but I did notice that with clomid. Also with the #2, that was never affected with me either. However, since quitting coffee, I have gone like maybe 4 times in the past two weeks (tmi, sorry). It is awful. Sorry to hear you are having those problems. That is the worst.

Galina - March 21

Ann, I just read the post in teh frustrated dh thread. I totally agree w/you. Some of these men just seem so insensitive to what we go through, not just physically, but emotionally.

Ann - March 21

I would kick my husband's a--, if he said word one! My only response would be along the lines of the door not hitting him on his way out. Maybe I am insensitive, and I definitely know that the pressure to perform must be stressful for them, but please!! I feel like we, as a team, made this decision to ttc and we should each do our parts and be totally supportive of each other in the process.
