So my boyfriend and i have been together for 8 years. i have an 11 year old from a prievious relationship. So clearly i have been able to concieve. We have ben t fertility specialists and were told that there is no reason we cant have a baby. It was suggested that maybe we are just not compatible and that maybe my body rejects his sperm. Has anyone ever heard of this before?

Hi mdt116, this is exactly the same problem I have. I've been with my partner for yrs, been ttc properly i.e having tests done etc for well over 12 months. Ive never used protection so i decided to see my GP, ive had countless blood tests and my bf has had sperm test which show he is just below average but was producing enough of it. He had testicle checks - all ok. Ive had ultrasounds and I am currently waiting to have my tubes flushed out. Im due in for my laparoscopy on Thurs, very nervous but also very excited. We have prev been told we are probably just not compatiable. Ive never been pregnant! I hope this minor surgery will be a success. I do know that my sister-in-law had the same procedure a few yrs ago and she fell pregnant more or less straight away - but im not getting my hopes up as i get fed up of the constant disappointment :-(. I will let you know how i get on. Have you had any tests etc???

mdt0116- I have been pregnant 2x, by my husband. I have a beautiful two year old son, but miscarried the second pregnancy last July. Both were conceived first attempt. Since my mc last summer I have had no luck conceiving. The mc threw my menstrual cycle through a loop, and I started seeing a fertility specialist in January. Since then I have been on four rounds of clomid, with three IUIs. I will find out if the third one worked when I test this weekend. This secondary infertility is more common than primary infertility.... and it sucks!!!!!!! Other than not ovulating for a while after my mc, the doctors cannot find anything wrong with me. After I started the clomid, my period has been every 28 days, with ovulations each month. I know how frustrating this can be, and I am so sorry you are experiencing it.
