Hello all ! My prolactin level is 30 while <27 is the normal range. Iam having an IVF next month. My RE says that I don't have to treat my prolactin level as it is only a little above the high and that it will not affect the results of the IVF. Has somebody been in similar situation ? I would like to do my best to make sure this IVF works.. If lowering my prolactin will increase my chances of success I would prefer to do that .. Has anybody had a sucessful IVF with a prolactin level a little higher than normal and without taking any medication for the same ? Thanks !

My prolactin level was 28.5 my doctor said it was high and that's why I was not ovualting. At the beginning of this month I took another blood test and my level was a 1. My doctor put me on bromocriptin. I take two tablets a day, it works for me hopefully I can get my baby I been wanting with my husband.

vthompson, Thanks for the response. Iam almost done with my first ivf cycle. . I am now on my 2ww. my hcg blood test is on monday oct 26th. Though my prolactin was a bit high, everything else was normal to me. ovulation, luteal phase etc. .All other hormone levels were in the normal range for me. .my RE has assured me that a slightly elevated prolactin should not cause any problems with the ivf or even the natural way for trying to conceive.. Iam not taking any medication for my high prolactin .. I wish you good luck !
