How is everyone?!! everyone has been pretty quiet lately...............gurinsa ~ how is your tww?....................katherine ~ is your evil nuvaring gone?? when do you start your cycle? what will you be doing?................Cleveland ~ are you about to start opk testing? 4th time is a charm! it is time for your BFP...................star ~ how are you doing on the bc? it always made me bitchy. hopefully you don't have any of the crappy side effects................handy ~ i know you have the month off, but check in and let us know how you are feeling..............magic ~ luckily we will be starting the Nov thread soon. I think they are testing for prog to ensure it is at a good level since it is so important during preg. Be sure not to test until you are 10 or 11dpiui since you got the trigger shot. The hpt might pick up residual HCG from the shot. good luck in your tww....................

Hi Chimer, thanks for asking! Yes, you are exactly right -- I began OPK testing. The femara always keeps me like clockwork, and since this is my 6th cycle on it, I know the drill.... I will be positive tomorrow (wednesday) so we will go in at 7:30 AM for our 4th IUI. Actually, I will probably go by myself and bring DH's little swimmers with me. We did that last month, and I like it much better, because we are a 45 minute drive from the Cleveland Clinic and we have a toddler than needs to get to day care.... if I go by myself, than DH can get Jack up and ready and off to day care. It just works so much better that way. I do not mind going alone at all -- while it was sweet to have him there for IUI #2, it is far better to have DH back home taking care of things with Jack.
So, here's the latest plan: since DH has low post-wash counts, I just don't see the point of getting me on the "superovulation" regimen with the injectibles, triggers, etc etc. Why should I get hit with all those additional meds when we got a post-wash count of 2.4 million last time??? So, I scheduled an RE appointment for November 20 for DH and I to go in and talk to him about next steps... honestly, I am 35 1/2 and not getting any younger. If IUI #4 doesn't take (which I know I should be optimistically thinking it will at this point!) then I want to discuss IVF. No point in going on and on with IUIs when DH has such low morphology (Kruger 1% to 3%) that I've read IUIs are really a waste of time?? That IVF is the way to go in this situation.... what do you all think?

Correction: what I meant was that we will probably go in on Thursday morning for IUI #4! IF OPK is + tomorrow (judging from ewcm it should be:-) I know tmi.

Hi Cleveland..good to hear from you!! I agree, my doc said that anything under 5 million post wash was too low to even do the procedure so I think you are making the right decision! My doc also said 3 iui's should be enough to get pregnant...I think they start thinking ivf after the 3rd. I wish you the best of luck in your 2ww!!! I am just about in the 1ww now after iui #2..I will start hpt next week. Let us know how you are doing!!

it's kinda crazy how doctors have different opinions about things. we did iui for three cycles with post wash counts of 2 million, 1.6 million, and 4 million. he never said this was bad....i just assumed it was normal! but, it never did work, so maybe he was wrong?

Cleveland Rocks - November 1

It is Saturday morning and I just completed IUI #4. Bad news... DH had the lowest post-wash count ever, at only 600,000 motile sperm :-( This is discouraging, even though I know I am supposed to dwell on positive thoughts. The CNP and I talked about the obvious, that it looks like we need to move on to IVF. We'll go sit down with the RE on 11/20 to talk about it. In the meantime, we are checking with the RE about having DH see the reproductive urologist or whatever his exact specialty is called. There is one that they frequently refer patients to, and I think we need to see him before we see the RE on 11/20 just to get more understanding of DH's issues. I guess with IVF, though, it wouldn't really make a difference in the long run since they will select the perfect swimmers for the job. So... tww commences, as does the progesterone suppository fun. Let me know how you are all doing.

cleveland....sorry the post wash count was so low. look at it this way....if this does not work, then we'll move on to IVF together! good luck through the tww!
