Do you have insurance of any kind? If not it will cost about $10,000. My RE is billing it as an OB/Gyn issue since I have cramps all the time, fibroids, and painful periods....so out of pocket the most I will pay is $1500. Without insurance I would not be able to afford it. The doc is claiming it is medically necessary for insurance to cover it. Hope this helps.

oh my gosh its so expensive... i have no idea whether it will cover...but i will see to it..
so what was ur diagnosis

I am scheduled for the lap on July 7th. I have a large fibroid that he may have to remove and he suspects mild endometriosis.

By the way, if you get a routine intravaginal ultrasound, and the doctor sees something suspicious, then insurance is most likely to cover the lap, as the doc can then claim it is medically necessary to go in and find out what is going on.

yeh i know even i emailed one doctor in India he emailed me back saying that if ur HSG is normal then no need to go for LAP...lets see what happen.

my dye test came back normal so that means no endo in there? i hope not.....

Before insurance bumped it down to the contract amount, my lap was over $20,000. The only way to see endo is with a lap--the hsg and ultrasounds won't detect it.

oh is it ...then i wont be able to pay such huge amount i think i will go to India & do that...its much cheaper there

aish, do you not have insurance at all? Even if you don't have infertility coverage, if you are having cramps, that should not be covered as infertility.

is it actually i am going to infertility center and they r taking money like anything ...if i will tell them that please do add reason of it is cramps ...i hope they will say yes we will see...
lets hope for the best as mood is off

My HSG test was all clear. They did not suspect anything at that point, but the doc did say he thought he saw a dark spot on my uterus and may want to find out what it is. No bloodwork will show endo or fibroids. Only these high resolution scans.
