HOW DOES THIS WORK

my follicles this month at my last u/s measured at 1@14mm, 2@15mm, 1@17mm, and 1@19mm, i took ovidrel that night and went for back to back iuis. i guess im wondering does the hcg shot mature those follciles any more before ovulation, do they grown any more on their own once ovidrel is taken, could it be possible the size of any of them increased before ovulaiton took place 2 days later? i cant seem to find answers anywhere. does anyone know? i do know my nurses informed me of possible multiples, but i guess i dont see why some sizes seem to small, unless they do grow more...

Hi Tanner, my RE explained to me that your folliecles grow 1-2 mm per day, until you ovulate. My understanding of the ovidrel is that it produces ovulation approx. 36 hours after the shot. Therefore your follies would have an additional 1 1/2 days to grow. I would think that you would have a chance of at least four follies if not all five ovulating. Hope this helps. Cindy
