how do I know when I'm ovulating

Hi there my name is Crystal and I'm quite new at this.....this is the first time I've ever been to the site and I must say I really enjoy all this support from us women....my question is How do I know when I'm ovulating.....are they signs?.......for about three years now my period has been very irregular comming at what ever date it feels like.....I'm not sure any more how to calculate my ovulation dates....can any one help

Hi Crystal! I have been ttc for a little over a year. I use both the OPKs (ovulation predictor kits that you buy at the pharmacy) and BBT (Basal Body Temperature) methods to determine when I ovulate. Sure do wish this board had spelling check, cuz I know I just misspelled a bunch of words - sorry! There are a bunch of web sites about these methods. They are easy, and the BBT is pretty inexpensive.
