HI, EVERYONE. I AM HAVING A REALLY BAD DAY. I WENT TO THE DOC TODAY, TO TRY AND GET ON METFORMIN FOR MY PCOS, AND HE WOULDN'T HELP ME AT ALL!!!!! I ASKED ABOUT MET, AND HE SAID "NO. THATS STRICTLY FOR DIABETICS. ARE YOU DIABETIC? NO. YOU AREN'T." HE WAS SO RUDE!! MY DH IS IN THE MILITARY, AND WE ARE STATIONED IN THE UK . THE BASE WON'T HELP WITH ANYTHING FERTILITY, SO THEY SENT ME TO A CLINIC (WHICH WE HAD TO PAY FOR) AND THE CLINIC SAW ME ONCE AND DIAGNOSED ME WITH PCOS, THEN TOLD ME I WAS TOO FAT , AND I HAVE TO LOSE WEIGHT BEFORE I CAN COME BACK. SO I TOLD THE BASE I WANT SOMETHING TO HELP REGULATE MY PCOS, AND HE TOLD ME THERE ISN'T ANYTHING I CAN DO EXCEPT EXERCISE, WHICH I DO EVERYDAY!!!!! AND IM EATING LOWER CARB, BUT IT IS SO HARD TO LOSE WEIGHT. ANYWAYS, HE KEPT TELLING ME NO, AND YOU COULD TELL HE DIDN'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT PCOS. ANYWAYS, I KEPT PUSHING, AND FINALLY HE SET UP AN APPOINTMENT SO I CAN HAVE A SONOGRAM ( I ALREADY HAD ONE!) AND THEN THEY WANT TO RE- DIAGNOSE ME WITH PCOS!!!!!!! I AM SO ANGRY. I TOLD HIM THAT IF I WENT IN THERE AND NOT MENTIONED FERTILITY, THEY WOULD HAVE HELPED ME. AND ME SAYING THAT IS THE ONLY REASON I AM GOING TO GET ANOTHER SONOGRAM. I CRIED THE WHOLE WAY HOME. I FEEL LIKE NOONE WILL HELP ME, AND NOONE UNDERSTANDS WHAT IM GOING THROUGH. AND THEN THE KICKER: HE SAID AS I WAS LEAVING, " I DON'T KNOW WHY YOU WANT KIDS ANYWAYS. I HAVE 4 AND IT'S NOT THAT GREAT." NICE HUH? WHY DO DOCS SEEM TO HELP THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T DESERVE KIDS, AND THE PEOPLE WHO TRULY WILL MAKE GOOD PARENTS ALWAYS HAVE THE HARDEST TIME??? IM SO UPSET..... PLEASE SEND ME *HUGS*!!! THANKS FOR LISTENING. HELAYNA

Can you write letters and complain to someone higher up? Or can you come back to the states to get set up with what you want? I cannot stand drs like that!

Oh Sweetie...I'm so sorry that you got treated so unfairly! You may not be diabetic, but you can still have insulin resistance and high testosterone and adrogen levels like I did before I got on the Metformin. If they were decent dr they look at the reseach which shows Metformin truely does help women with PCOS. So they Dx you with it, but what's their treatment for it---I'd go to a medical website and print off some research for him since he's so ignorant---try logging in at this website it says it's free:http://www.medscape.com/viewp

Thank you all so much!! I think I will talk to the hospital coordinator, and try and figure this mess out. We will be coming home to the states in december, but my husband will be deployed for 8 months, so we will have to put this on hold till he comes home. Thats why I wanted to get it taken care of now, that way we at least have a shot at getting pregnant before he goes. Thank you all so much for your support. It really helps to know there are great people on your side!

Hi Helayna! I'm soooo sorry you have to go through this.. I too feel like doctors don't give a s--t about any of their patients. They take them on a wild goose chase telling them one thing after another just to get you off their backs. I've had that problem my whole life. If someone told me that I have PCOS when I was 17 and had my period for 8 months straight, maybe I wouldn't be going through this mess right now while TTC. But, I kept pushing to get the tests, regardless of what they thought of me. Search for another doctor quick and make sure that poor excuse for a doctor is never given the opportunity to get new patients by making complaints to everyone who will listen. He doesn't deserve to even be a doctor and I think that his attitude toward you and your situation is disgusting. My thoughts, prayers and e-hugs go out to you.. I am so sorry Helayna. I cannot believe the way you were treated! Please do not give up hope. There are so many other caring doctors out there who will be so willing to help you through this.... and make this whole situation so much easier. Be your own advocate and don't settle for anything less!! Good luck **hugs**
