Mika, I am also on Bromo. After starting the med, I started my period within five weeks and had a normal prolactin level after one month. I could actuallly notice a difference in the way I felt after about a week of starting the Bromo. Five months later, we are now trying to get pregnant!!!!! Thank God this is treatable!

Mika for some women one month is enough to become regular for other they need a little more, 3, 6 months... but I´ve been reading that Cabergoline (dostinex) works wonders and it´s faster than bromo... I haven´t try it yet; I´m still taking bromo but I´m going to ask my doctor if I can switch the medication, because I hadn´t had my period yet... I suggest you do the same

Happy to announce I am expecting! I am barely pregnant, but pregnant! I stopped the bromocriptine and we are hoping for the best. Please say a prayer for my family!

question - January 2

I have a low prolactin level and I am producing milk is that normal. Shouldn't my level be higher.

I was at my doctor and was told that my prolactin level was to high. Is there a high percentage level that this might cause cancer or a tumor.

How can I get more information on high prolctin levels.

Brief update. My tests from beginning of December showed that my prolactine level had dropped from 95 to 35 which is excellent news. My doctor adviced me to increase my daily intake of bromo and return for new tests in 6-7 weeks time. Last Monday I went for new tests and am waiting for results. Still no period or ovulation but I'm a little more hopeful.

I have been diagnost with prolactinoma. My levels were 600-700. 10mm tumor. I first started to get symptoms like headaches, slowly vision impaired sporatically, no menstral periods, sore breasts. My doctor started me out with bromocriptine and was taking from 1/2 pill everyday to 2 pills a day and teh side effects were killing my stomache, but my prolactin level has went down a little and the tumor shrunk a little. I did notice my sex drive has increased a little. So he switched me on Dostinex. Today was my first day, so wish me luck. Has anyone heard of anyone getting pregnant while taking this or any web sites to find more info? I may want kids later, but can you get pregnant after everything is all said and well?

I was also dx'ed with high prolactin levels and a pituitry tumor. I opted to have mine surgically removed and my prolactin was back to normal in 2 days.

I was diagnosed with high prolactin levels as well and was taking Dostinex. I origally started with the .25mg(?) for a month and with a blood test at the end of it, my midwife dropped the dosage to 1/2 that. Got pregnant the next month! Good luck to all!

Yes, You can get pregnant on Dostinex. I had been diagnosed with a high prolactin level when I was younger. Well with my ex-husband we had been having unprotected sex (no birth control or anything) for like 6 years. They put me on dostinex for the first time and one week or two weeks later..I was pregnant with my son. He was a great surprise. We were not trying at the time...I had been on parlodel in the past and never got pregnant. They warned me that I would be very fertile.. and they were right!! Since my son was born - my levels have still been a little elevated, but overall my cycles have become every 28 days with out medication and I've become pregnant three times (two m/c and now 13 weeks)

Becca D-- I am currently 9 weeks pregnant with my second child. I was taking Bromocriptine to be able to concieve, but under advisement of my doctors stopped it two weeks into pregnancy. I just had my first prolactin level drawn since I stopped the Bromo and my level is back in the 70's. The doctors are going to check my levels monthly. Hopefully, I won't have to go back on meds until after I deliver. Did you go off meds during pregnancy? Did your babies have any complications? Did you have normal deliveries? Any problems during your pregnancies?

Hi there. This is an excellent forum. I have a quick question. I came off the pill 4 months ago and still no period. My prolactin level has come down to 34.Could this be preventing me from having a period?
