No I didn't disappear! I have a family doctor but I've only ever been to him two or three times I think. I don't get sick that often so I don't need to. I ask my ob/gyn most of my questions because I'm really comfortable with him. I was seeing a specialist but he just made me feel like a real idiot when I asked questions - I hate that. Sometimes I think doctors can know TOO much and then when you say or ask something stupid they make you feel so dumb. I certainly don't know everything about this problem we are all having but I have done a lot of reading and research on it the past couple years so I know a lot more than I did before this mess started! Hey here is an encouraging fact girls - my mom & dad tried for 3 1/2 years to get pregnant. They finally decided to adopt and tah-dah, she found out she was pregnant! They went on to have EIGHT of us kids. So this problem can and will pass...its just a matter of patience and prayer! :)

Good night karen. when i start work, i will be on here later in the afternoons. i will be working from 7 am to 3:30 pm. so, i will be getting home around 4. that is, if i do not work overtime. hey carrie, i do not have a family doc nor do i have a ob/gyn. i wish i did so i could ask him or her some questions. i just do not know much at all. the way i am feeling, i do know that. if i am pregnant or if it is just in my head, i do not know. i do know that i really feel like i am pregnant. could you ask your doc for me? or is that stupid? i could tell you exactly what is going on, how i am feeling and all that. please get back to me. :)

Sorry I haven't responded - I'm usually just on here during the day because of being in front of the computer all day I can jump in and out. Karen-best of luck with your new doctor. Amy-find a doctor girl! If you aren't pregnant this time, then the best advice I can give you is to get to the doctor. The sooner you address this problem the better. Of course I would be more than happy to ask my doctor questions for you, but I don't know when I'll see him next. It all depends on if I start this weekend or not. As awkward as it can be to ask some of the personal ?s - do it! When this problem first started for me, I was hesitant sometimes to ask the ?s that I wanted/needed answers to and then I would leave the dr. office feeling like I didn't get the info I needed. Be bold - don't hesitate - write your questions down so you don't forget - get answers! And don't let your dr. tell you to wait until you've been trying for a year before getting tested etc. My doctor told me that and now I wish I would have insisted on starting testing/treatment right away because now here I am almost two years later and still no baby. If I would have had him start looking into it right away, then maybe we could have been successful by now. Don't get me wrong - I love my doc but from what I've read, many docs will tell their patients "wait a year and then we'll look into it". Look through the ph.book or ask around for a good ob/gyn and when you call, find out if they deal with infertility issues. That's my "mother hen" advice! I just don't want you guys to go through this any longer than you have to. :)

Are you guys anxious about Mother's Day? I am. In a way I'm dreading it. Not that I don't want to honor my mom and mother-in-law but I think it will just be a sad day. They do all sorts of special things for the mothers at church and I'll feel stupid because I'm the only lady there that's not a mother. I'm really having some major anxiety about it...especially considering that I could start my period this weekend. What kind of crappy timing is that?

Good morning Carrie and Karen. Hey carrie, i just wanted to ask a doc really, if i could be like 2 weeks along and if a pregnancy test would show positive that soon? I am looking forward to mothers day. please do not get mad i dont want to make anyone mad, but my husband and my son got me a cell phone last week for mothers day. my son turned 3 in march. i can't remember if i mentioned him or not yet. his name is carter. he is a very good and smart little boy. he is potty trained, knows almost all his abc's, loves the lookin out my back door song, and every morning he reminds me to give him a vitamen. you know, i thought that being i have got pregnant once, that i would just KNOW if i was pregnant again. people have told me that i would. but right now, i don't know if i am. i think my hubby is gonna buy me another pg test this evening. if he does, then i will test tomorrow morning. i just hope that if i am pg, that it will not be too early this time to get a positive result. If i was to get a negative, i will wait a little longer and take another one. they have some that have two tests so. anyhow, i will be on and off today. take care girls ((((hugs)))))

Hey Amy - I didn't know you had a son! He sounds like a smart little guy! Congrats! I shouldn't totally dread Mother's Day - I guess I'm just afraid that I'll feel bad and won't be able to take control of my emotions. Like I said, I certainly do want to honor my mom & mom-in-law and I want them to have a good day. I'm just nervous that I'll be down in the dumps since I can't celebrate! I'll do my best though! Hey Amy-what day were you due to start your period? I might be able to help you with your question. :)

Amy - May 5

you never know carrie. You just might find out that you are pg this weekend. and if you do, then what more perfect time. if you arent, just keep having faith. well, i am not sure when my period is due. it has been irregular since i got off the shot. all i know is that i have not bled at all in a week now. usually i will stop for maybe a day or two then start back up. but nothing yet. it's been a week. the past two days the sick feeling kinda went away but now, i am feeling very sick to my stomach. i feel that if i try to eat something, i will get sick. you know? my breasts however are still sore. i check them every now and then to see if they are or not. so far, they are. before i ever got on the shot, i would expect my period about the middle of each month. but being i was on the shot, i do not know if i can go by that anymore. i need to go for a sec, my son wants to watch the little mermaid. i will be back though. if you think you might can help, just ask whatever you need ok? i do not mind answering even the most personal questions if it will help me to know whawt is going on. thanks girl:):):)

Ok - I thought if I knew when your period was due that I might be able to help you. But you said that calculation you did guessed that you were about 2 weeks along? I might have told you before that if you are 2 weeks along, it will typically be picked up by an hpt but not always - if the hormone isn't strong enough then the test won't be able to recognize it. I've heard of ladies who are 3 months along and those tests won't pick up their pregancy. Weird, huh? I have been feeling some light cramping off and on since Monday. It's the same as menstrual cramps but not as strong. I've NEVER had this before prior to my period so I'm wondering??? Maybe? However, I did start on progesterone suppositories last Friday so that could be affecting things and making me feel different. What do you think? Have you ever heard much about the affects of progesterone? It's not a real high dosage - just 25mg per day.

Honestly carrie, i am not sure. i am sorry. there are things i should know about, but i dont. i do not know about the temps, ovulation, or anything like that. again , i am really sorry. when i found out i was pregnant with my son, i was a little over a month along. but see, before that, a friend of mine told me to get tested. i told her i wasn't. that i doubted i was. but i tested and sure enough i was. my friend told me she could tell by how i was acting. feeling sick, tender breasts and just not feeling like doing much. she remembers all that, but i honestly didn't. i guess that i just did not notice. after i found out that i was though, my sickness was really bad. it was so bad that i lost more weight than i gained. my doctor ended up putting me on phenorgan so that i could eat again and drink again. girl, i could not even drink water. i just always got sick. the phenorgan did help, but after taking it, it knocked me out. but that was ok. the sleep was good for me...lol. anyhow, when i used to get a normal period, i would have no sign that it was coming. i would just notice the blood. after a while, i notice that it would come towards the middle of the month. it would last atleast a week. now during when i had normal periods, i would only cramp during the period. not before or after. nor did i have tender or sore breasts, not even during. just the cramping. something else, when i had normal periods, i would get a bad case of darrhea every now and then, during it. but not everytime. do you think a doctor could help me if i explained all this? If you could that would be great. i understand though if you can not. i am still sorry that i can not help you. i may not be good at giving advice, due to that i do not know anything on it, but i am a good listener and will help any way i can. can i ask you one more thing please? being that when i had normal periods i knew when to expect them and when to expect them to end, could i go by that now? like on ovulation? what about temps? how do you do that? is it just like checking your temp for when you are sick? one thing i should mention is i have been feeling like my face gets flushed. just a warm feeling going over my face. could that be something ? mean something?

Carrie - May 5

I would think that a doctor could decipher what is going on with you but it would probably be harder for them if it wasn't your doctor - like getting the info secondhand. You know what I mean? Mine would probably say that he needed to see you and talk to you and understand everything about your cycles now in order to give you a clear idea of what might be going on. I can try to run it by him next time I see him, like maybe a general question about coming off the depo shot and how that affects the system. But hon, you might get more accurate and quicker info if you saw a doctor on your own because then that doctor would be more knowledgeabley about your individual situation. I do chart my temps - a lot easier than people make it out to be. Go to www.fertility-facts.com and it will help you figure things out and there's even a temperature chart you can print out to use. You take your temperature BEFORE you get out of bed in the morning. The temps will stay a little lower like maybe 97.5-97.8 while on your period until you ovulate. The day after you ovulate your temp will spike usually at least .4 degree so you'll shoot over the 98.0 mark. It will stay up throughout your luteal phase - until you get your period...or if you are pregnant it will stay up throughout. It has really helped me to see when I am ovulating. Sometimes I ovulate later than I'm supposed to - like this month I ovulated 3 days late so I expect my period 3 days late. That website has a lot of good info on the temps. I'm not sure about your face getting flushed - not sure if that's a sign or not??? Sorry.

That is ok Carrie. I appreciate you trying to help me. i just hate not knowing. it drives me crazy. i just wish i knew for sure if a pregnancy test would detect the pregnancy hormone now or not. if i am pregnant, i would believe that i conceived around the 20th of april. i know that my husband and i had sex then, and a few times before the 20th. i just can't remember what days though, before the 20th. i know that it was atleast 2 times before though. that was kinda close to then. anything on that? could that help any on helping me find out? i figured out on paper, that if i conceived on the 20th, then, today would be 15 days after conceiving. what do you think?

Carrie - May 5

Amy - if you concieved on the 20th then you're right about the 15 days. I sure wish I had a solid answer for you but unfortunately like we were saying yesterday, this seems like such a guessing game. Nothing is ever for certain it seems like. It is good to mark down when you have intercourse though. There is a space for that on the BBT chart too.

Amy - May 5

If you were me, would you go ahead and take a test tomorrow morning or would you wait a little longer? i hope you do not mind me asking. i could get one that has two tests and test one in the morning and wait another week and use the other one. it really is a guessing game. i do agree. if i did for sure conceive on or a little before the 20th, when would that have made my ovulation? like i said earlier, i know nothing on this stuff. what is gestation? i read that online a little bit ago. you think i would know these things. lol. anyhow, i may take a nap here in a little bit. i will for sure keep a check in though throughout the day. ((((hugs))))

Carrie - May 5

Because I'm a scaredy-cat of hpts after all the ones I took before, I would wait in my situation. But I'm trying to look at it from your situation and your history - I would probably want to take it tomorrow morning. Yeah get a box that has two tests in it - you end up paying less for each test in the long run! If you concieved on the 20th then you ovulated on the 20th or right thereabouts (the egg is present and able to be fertilized from 12-24 hours after you ovulate). I believe that gestation is the period of the babies growth - like the 40 weeks of pregnancy. I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Ok take care - enjoy your nap! :)
