Hello, i've been on these boards for about a year, TTC for 22 months and i finally got my BFP last week. I've had my HCG level blood tests done and the results are on 17 dpo = 475 and 19 dpo = 1844. All my Dr said is they are doubling lovely, I have done losts of HCG calculators and they're all saying that my HCG is doubling every day. does anyone have any information they could share with me on this, i'm wondering if its a good thing?

Congrats on your bfp! That gives me hope, we've been trying for 23 months. Were you on clomid, iui?? As for your numbers, It could be multiples. I've read that when it more than doubles it can be that. But a friend of mine had numbers more than doubling also and there's only 1 bean in there. So i guess it's hard to say. Have a great 9 months!!!!

Hi, thanks for replying, I wasnt on clomid, i did take it about 5-6 months ago but it didn't do anything for me, nor did i have IUI's. I just had a Lap and dye test done 6 weeks before i conceived so i'm thinking that although they said my tubes were fine maybe they was blocked and the dye flushed them through. iI always fell pregnant straight away before so something must have been wrong but it's fixed now. I've never had HCG levels tested before as i'm in the UK and they dont do them as routine over here, thats why i dont know much about them. I hope you get your BFP soon, i'll send you some of my babysust xx

Actually they say the levels should double every 48 hours, so in 48 hours yours actually quadrupled! I also tried clomid for 4 or 5 months, it didn't work for me either. DH tested fine, all my hormones are within normal limits, but i know i need to get the hsg. I hear alot that it "blows out the cobwebs" and makes you more fertile. I'm just such a chicken.... was it painful for you?

No, i didnt find the HSG painful, i was in and out of hospital within 4 hours, once the anesthetic had worn off i had a little discomfort in my tummy and my shoulder, the pain in the shoulder was from the gas they pumped me up with, but apart from that it was fine. I really do think its worth having it done, i'm convinced that it helped me xx

Has anyone else got any ideas, it's really playing on my mind
