Has anyone used Follistim without a prescription?

After many months on u/p clomid we are thinking of moving on to Follistim. Has anyone ordered this online before? I do have a doc and I am getting all the test and workups that they can do without saying I have a fertility issue because insurance won't cover it. I have had to order online with little monitoring. Does anyone know of a quality place to order Follistim without a “prescription” or where you could get an online prescription? Any advise?

when you order it online, does your or is your doctor going to be doing any monitoring of you?

I wuld be worried about taking follistim without a doc's monitoring...it can cause a lot of eggs to be produced. PLus, it can at times cause ovarian hyperstimulation, which can be fatal. I'm really not trying to criticize...I'm really not. But, I think follistim is a little scary without monitoring...

Doc would monitior but very little. They could perscribe it but then the cost would be up there. Online it is cheaper. Thanks for the advise. I am going back to the doc tomorrow.

If your doc is on board and monitoring you some...then it's your call. It's not as scary then. GL to you!

hi i am currently taking follistim, the lowest dose of 75. I only take it once a day as well (some people take it 2x) I have to go in every other day, and when it gets close to ovulation every day. the monitoring is key when doing follistim. the bloodwork they do as well as the ultrasound. right now it looks like I have 2 follicles that we can use, as well as 2 more potential ones. i am doing timed intercourse. so my doc does not want me to end up with a lot of babies. she says that triggering at the right time is important. too early and no babies for me, and too late means potential multiples, and im not talking twins. i had 10 eggs on one ovary and 10 on another. they monitor to make sure all are not growing at a certain rate, if they were you would cut the dose. all those follicles i have are still growing but slowly (so they are not a threat right now). some of the follicles still have the potentail to develop so they are taking blood at least every other day, and now everyday to make sure I don't ovulate more that 3 eggs. This drug seems pretty powerful. i would hate to see you spend all this money for it not to work, or worse overstimulating. my friend she is on another bored.. ( the best mommies) she overstimed on the injectable drugs and ended up in the hospital for a few days. i know a lot of people take clomid unperscribed, but that carries less danger than injectables. if you are intent on buying it online ( im all about saving money) please make sure you doc does a good job monitoring you.

Hi I am new of this board but wanted to add my two cents. It would be very difficult to take follistim without close monitoring. I am taking it right now and just had my iui, but near my ovulation time they had to monitor me every day to see when I was going to ovulate. I would have never been able to guess without the monitoring. One more thing SaintRose83 I am exactly in the same boat you are. I developed 15 eggs and had to sign a consent before my iui today. So Scary!! Anyway good luck. I have one more iui tommorow and we will see what happens.......

Thank you all there is so much to consider...I think my problem with the clomid is the hostile CM. I have taken mucinex and preseed and still nothing. Any other ideas there? The doc said that follistim does not have that problem...I am very confused any help.
:)

SaintRose83 - January 24

i heard that you can use 2 applications of preseed at once, if one isn't enough. Maybe there is something your doc can give you to help.

Kimmer23 - January 25

rizzoh - have you considered using clomid and getting an IUI? That would surpass the hostile CM...just a thought! GL!

rizzoh - January 25

IUI...I know I should know this one but for some reason it isn't ring'in a bell for me. The Doc is now talking about injections but, the expense is sooooo much. I asked here what else I could take for the CM and she said the same stuff I have been using. I heard about egg whites---it just doesn't seem right to put that there and how would you do it???

RLR - January 26

rizzoh- just came across your thread and thought I'd mention that Femara worked for me and it doesn't attack your cm like clomid. I agree that IUI sounds like a great option for you, too (intra-uterine insemination)- bypass the cm altogether. baby dust!

rizzoh - January 28

RLR: Thank you, I will ask her about femara. Is that a pill that you take certain days also? All infertility stuff is out of pocket but, Doc gave me a new suggestion what do you ladies think about it? Because the preseed didn’t work the last cycle and all fertility stuff is out of pocket she suggested that we do the equivalent of an IUI but at home. She said to have him deposit in a cup then use a syringe (like for kids medicine) and put it up next to the opening of the cervix and inject it. She said that it can be a bit tricky but not impossible. We are supposed to do that and have regular intercourse. It sounds messy to me but at this point anything for that BFP. You know what I mean. :)

I tried follistim and it didn't work. You can buy clomid also here without a prescription 24tablets.com that's how I got pregnant. They won't ask for a prescription either. I hope this helps you :)

You'd be crazy to order any drug online and clomid can develop cysts. Why not try something safe like Pregnancytechniques.com

attiliodalberto - December 31

I do not think it's a good decision. You have to meet a physician first before taking any medicine.

I tried to convence whit clomid. My GP monitored me but I bought generic Clomid at ------- 24-tablets.com Good Luck!
