Has anyone taken clomid without having a period first?

Hi everyone,
I haven't had my period for over a year - (very frustrating) basically, since I stopped taking the pill. I've tried a number of things to get it, but...no luck. Does one HAVE to have a period before starting Clomid? is there anyone here who just took it without having a period first? I seem to be hearing different answers from different doctors...

hello i never had a period for five months.i started clomid and 3 weeks later i got my period i was so happy.so in my case no u dnt have to have a period to start clomid but sum people are different.gud luck

Sara, I don't think that you have to have an af to go on Clomid or other fertility drugs. I went off my bc at the beginning of May and have not yet gotten my af. I just finished with Provera and am now waiting for it to start. But my md said that if I have irregular cycles again or no af at all, then we're moving onto fertility drugs. Do you see an OB/GYN or just a regular physician? An OB/GYN or ? maybe a fertility specialist? can give you the best answer. Good luck and let me know if you find out anything!

I just took seven days of Provera and now am on CD3, I start clomid on days 5-9. I am hoping it works this first time. I went to ob/gyn to get the clomid.
