I'm not sure of how long your period will last, but sometimes it may take up to three years to get pregnant again, and sometimes it can only take up to at least 3 to 18 mths. Now about your period when I was on the shot, which I only took two shots it took me up to 5 mths to come on my period and when I finally came on I bleed regularly for 3 to 4 days but it was very heavy and dark , recently I just started getting a NORMAL period about 4mths ago and now I am also ovulating normal. I took the shot in august of 2002 and in november of 2002 and haven't gotten pregnant again. My little girl is now 3 yrs. old I've read somewhere else where it took another lady only 4mths to get pregnant, so it varies. GOOD LUCK !!!!

I'm in a similar situation. I was on the shot for 2 1/2 years and the last one I had was 2/1/05. I still have not had a period so I went to my doctor and she said that it typically takes 6-18months from the last time you got a shot to conceive. I'm not sure how long your period will last though(since I still have not had one). Good luck!

I was on Depo for 9 months, came off in Jan 04, took me until the May to have a period then it would last anywhere between a day and 6 weeks! In Jan 05 my periods settled a bit and I have one now between 22 and 27 days. I wasnt ovulating until May 05 according to blood tests (although not convinced I am) and unfortunatley I still have not been able to get pregnant. I have until October then I have an appointment at the fertility clinic to discuss "my options"!
