I posted on this forum a long time ago when my husband and I had our first IUI back in March. Since then I found out through an HSG that my right tube was blocked. I ended up having an exploratory lap where my RE removed a large cyst that was pulling down on my right tube causing it to be blocked. He also removed small amounts of endometriosis. I had my surgery in June and we did IUI again in August with Clomid and then a 3rd IUI with a step up Clomid regimen. Neither one of those worked either. My husband tested perfect of course:) so we were getting ready to change RE's and I had another appointment with one this month. I had asked my RE if we could take a break from the IUI cycles and just try Clomid and try on our own. He gave me 2 months on it. I took 100 mg on cycle days 3-7 and it worked the second month. I took a pregnancy test about 2 days before my period was due and a BFN, then I missed my period and thought what the heck and took another one and low and behold a BFP!!!!!! and then 3 more after that. I work for an OBGYN as a nurse pracitioner so I had my levels drawn and they were 68. I just had my HCG drawn this past Monday and it was 7990!!!!! I had one US at 4 weeks and another next week to determine how many heartbeats. I am 5 weeks today. We are beyond excited and it was a long road to get here. We tried for about 18 months. I also took Metformin to help with ovulation induction and weight loss. I was on the Metformin for about 18 months as well and have now gotten to stop that one, thank goodness. Anyhow, what I am trying to say is that it will happen for you all, it is not a matter of will it happen but when it will happen. Baby dust to all and if anyone has any questions, feel free to let me know.

Oh and I did not mention, pre-seed is absolutely wonderful. We used it with both of the last cycles as well. A little pricey but totally worth it!

Hello all, I am new to this forum and am just wanting to see if their are any iui success stories that can keep me thinking positive. My DH and I have been TTC for about 4 yrs. Started running tests in 2010 with everything coming back normal. RE diagnosed us with unexplained infertility. We have 3 children that were conceived naturally. So I am a little frustrated. Just had my 1st IUI on Monday, the 9th, with 100mg of Clomid days 3-7, and a trigger shot the day before the IUI and am hoping it took. I had 4 follies...3 on the left measuring 22, 18, & 17 and 1 on the right, measuring 16...Has anyone gotten a BFP after their first IUI ?

Hi praying4baby. I had my first IUI last month and no BFP. I was bummed, but I am still thinking positive. 2nd IUI this month.
Also just because it did not work for me does not mean it won't for you. Stay positive! Good Luck!

I had a bfn on my 1st iui also, but stay positive

Thanks for your responses "believetoday160" and "Nikki101"...I am keeping my fingers crossed. It has only been 3 days since my IUI and I am feeling pretty good. I only had mild cramping the day of and the next day. Do either of you have any issues keeping you from conceiving on your own ? What meds are you on ? How many follies ?

Baby Dust to you !!

"prayingforbabby2012" stay posstive... My IUI worked the first time. I did however know that the problem was my husband. I did have some cramping. I used the Clomid and the shot it worked for us :) I know your are in the waiting period and for me it was seemed like it took forever. the best thing for me was trying to keep myself busy. Good luck and MUCH BABY DUST to you all!!

"hopesforthebest42" Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. I love to hear success stories. Congrats to you and your DH !! I have read a lot of the posts and followed some of these stories before posting my own story and I really got bummed when I would see some woman got a BFN after testing. I am staying positive and praying for the best. My follies were pretty big and there were 4 of them so I am thinking my chanves are high.

How long ago was ur IUI ?

Nikki101 - January 13

Prayingforbaby2012 In my situation it's my husband that has the issue I'm ovulating and everything on my own, that's why I wasn't monitored when I did my iui unless I wanted to b monitored n it wud have been a little more expensive.

prayingforbaby2012 - January 13

Nikki101- I'm not being monitored either. So many woman on these threads talk of having to go in several times for b/w and u/s after their IUI. I was just told to call after 2 weeks with the results. I assume because everyone is going thru something different in one way or another their case requires extra monitoring.

Baby Dust to ALL !!

Nikki101 - January 14

Yea I figured that had to be the issue
