Hi everyone!

Im new to this "community"! Ive never done chat forums but I noticed as I was going thru that Im on the same page as a lot of you other women. DH and I have been trying to conceive since March 2009 with no luck so we went to the fertility center in March of this yr. We started our first clomid cycle at 50mg on May 17th but when I went in for the HSG dye test a week later, they discovered the clomid wasn't working so they doubled my dose for 7 days. When I went back in, on June 1st they discovered that I had one egg that was 18 mm! I was VERY excited! That night, I gave myself the HCG shot and on June 2nd we went in for our first IUI. We are currently in the 2 WW, but I just want to test already! I go back on June 14th for a beta test and our fingers are crossed!! We have been praying for this to work because it has been a rough road on our relationship though we have always managed to work everything out.

Anyone else in the 2WW?? Any success stories with IUI on the first shot??
Wishing everyone the best of luck and lots of Baby Dust to all!! :)

a1koolstarz-- thanks for joining us........Im currently in the 2ww and I wuold love to give u a success story but this is my second IUI being that the 1st one did not work. IT CAN happen though and I pray that your did. Your not to far away from testing so hang in there. I know how tempting it can be to test before you go into the dr's office.

GraceL--welcome

God will give you what you can handle.....I know u have a chance of having multiples but its less when u do clomid than when you do injectables.......dont worry

Baby dust to us all ladies.

I am new to the forum and am glad I found a place where there are people who are going through the same thing as me. I am 26 and my husband and myself have been trying ttc for a little over 2 years. I have PCOS and my husband has very low motility. We just did our first IUI and it has been two weeks and I took a hpt this morning and it was negative. I am so depressed and now I am just wanting for AF to show up. I don't know how people can do this month after month it is so hard and I have only done it once.

GraceL, a1koolstarz and maren45: Welcome!! This is a great place to share your thoughts and feelings about all the ups and downs of fertility! I hope you find this useful!

a1koolstarz: I too am currently on my 2ww of my third iui, I'm feeling quite positive about everything at this point but will know more by next week. Hang in there, you're almost done! I am a prime example of IUI's working on the first attempt, unfortunately I misscarried with that one. The bright side is I know I can get pregnant and that time it just wasn't meant to be.

Good luck to everyone!

Baby dust to all...and me next month.

Thank you lovely ladies for your comments. I am praying baby blessings on each of us.
Ok, So I had my first iui ever on Friday, I had cramping and felt real heaviness on my lower abdomen. Ok now.
Had a quick question about Serum Progesterone Test which will be taken on the Friday the 18th. What is this test about and what is normal? I guess i am just trying to find ways to cope through the 2ww. :o)
Any advice will be helpful.
Thank you

I had my 6th IUI last Thursday and am just a few days into my horrible 2ww. Ugh!

I had an HSG this cycle also. Was very uncomfortble and lots of cramping, but not as truly bad as I thought it would be after reading many posts. I did make certain to take 3 - 200mg Advil prior.

My first 3 cycles of IUI were with clomid. No luck and it caused me to have cysts. The next 2 we did Follistim. This cycle was Manopur.

They have not found any fertility issues other than I am now 40 years old. I have 2 children from my first marriage and had no problems getting pregnant. My husband had a vasectomy and a failed reversal so we are using donor sperm.

My husband too is getting to the end of his rope and not as supportive as he once was. I know it is because we have had our hopes broken so many times.

It helps to hear other suces stories and women going thru the same thing I am!

BABY DUST TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!

I am also on my 2ww and would love to share with someone waiting as well! :)

Oops! I meant Menopur.

Hey ladies it has been a while since I have written, but I am constantly checking this forum for good news. I have PCOS and my husband has very low motility. I had my first IUI in February and it failed. I was on clomid 75 mg. I was devastated, because my husband was in Iraq and had left only enough specimen for 2 IUI's while he was gone. On March 24, 2010 I went in for my 2nd IUI and for that cycle I was on Femara 10mg.I also went in and had fertility accupuncture after the insemination... I found out on April 6th that I was indeed pregnant! I am now 14 weeks and things are going great :) I go for my next ultrasound July 2nd to find out what I am having. I am writing this because I dont want you ladies to give up hope! Miracles do happen! So don't give up and stay strong. God has a plan for us all and good things come to those who wait! :) Goodluck and babydust to all!

lfisher2- Really? omg I feel much better now, I also have pcos and was on clomid for a long time with no results, did 2 cycles with injectables and femara, I had a good response, first IUI failed and second I cancelled because I had 12 follicles and 8 of them were mature, my RE recomended me not to continue as the possibility of multiples was very real.
I could handle 2 or 3, but if I had gotten pregnant with more, I would have to consider to do selective reduction...and I don't think I can do that, I would want to keep them all and that would be too risky for the babies and my self...it was hard to stop...I so much want this and now I have 4 cysts left from that cycle and have to wait another month. :(

Welcome to all the newbies! :-)
It's been a while since I've posted. I just want to make sure that you ladies don't give up hope. I too have PCOS and did back to back IUIs in May. I got pregnant but unfortunately it wasn't a viable pregnancy. I'm now waiting for AF to get here so I can start my meds again and do another set of IUIs. The point is that it does work and if it doesn't work the first time, then the chances are higher with the second or third try. I've read that it takes 2-3 rounds on average for a couple to conceive with an IUI.

Good luck and baby dust to all!!!

secondfam - June 16th, 2010 3:01 PM

lolis12 -- I am also on my 2ww and don't test until 06/25. Would love someone to share with in the same situation! Each time it does not work I say I am done ~ but here I am on my 2ww for the 6th time! Ugh!

I would love multiples also -- but would certainly take just one healthly little one!

Good luck ! BABY DUST!

bm83 - June 16th, 2010 3:07 PM

secondfam - I too am on my 2ww and don't test until the 24th, but usually can't wait that long and try a day or two before! :o) I have to admit I am feeling completely run down and nauseas every now and again and my abdomin feels quite full again, but for all I know it's nerves. I will admit I am concerned my breasts are tender yet regardless of being pregnant or having my AF coming. The last time I got pregnant they were so sore but I can't exactly remember when that started. I need to stay positive without getting my hopes up!

Good luck to you and Lolis12, I will be thinking about you over the next little bit!

secondfam - June 16th, 2010 3:43 PM

bm83 --- I will be sending BABY Dust your way! Hopefully your symptoms are early signs! I personally have not noticed anything as of yet. I totally understand trying to wish and pray but not want to get your hopes up to high.

I just had lunch with my husband and asked him why he doesn't talk about it at all with me anymore. He said he doesn't want to get either of our hopes up only to be let down. My response was that wether we talk about it or not it will not change how upset or let down either of us will be.

We are getting to the end of the road and unable to financially keep trying and can not afford IVF! So please pray for us and send lots of BABY DUST our way! :)

lolis12 - June 16th, 2010 4:32 PM
