Well, I tested. I used a clearblue easy with the big sign that comes up saying "NOT PREGNANT" So...What else is new? That's the only sign I've ever had!! Arg! I'm just thinking of all the money I could have saved if I had known I didn't need any birth control...LOL

Now I'm going to take my own advice and give it a few days...then maybe consider the HGS (maybe?)

Good luck everyone.~~~baby dust~~~

Patty49 - May 25th, 2010 10:57 AM

sorry to hear about everyone who has gotten the dreaded BFN. I haven't tested yet, it's 8dpiui and I feel like AF is going to show her head soon so I'll be joining you. I completely agree with you Hollymouse, we could have saved so much money if we knew we didn't need birth control. It's getting more and more frustrating with each cycle. Good Luck to everyone!

Hi everyone,
I did my first IUI on May 9th, and then followed with a second one on May 10th. I am 15 dpiui and tested today. I got a BFP....but my beta level was low at 44. The nurse told me that it should be at 100. I'm going to re-test in 2 days to see if it's doubling. I'm so happy but at the same time, I'm upset because this may not be a viable pregnancy. Has anyone gone through a similar situation? What have your beta levels been?
Thank so much!!!! Baby dust to all!

lolis12 - May 25th, 2010 2:04 PM

chorona---congrats to you !! I will pray for you, you watch and see I am sure that everything will be okay.

---Baby dust to us all---

lolis12 - May 25th, 2010 2:06 PM

Hollymouse Im so sorry I feel the same way you do....we must not give up though.

Good Luck =)

Chorona - Congratulations! I know how you feel, I got a BFP after my 1st IUI and ended up miscarrying. My beta was at 49 20dpiui and then miscarried. Try to keep positive, a GF of mine was in the same boat is ended up having a viable pregnancy, sometimes it takes that little ball of cells to divide. Hang in there, I hope everything works for you.

Patty49 - Hang in there, sometimes is a good sign if you feel like your AF is coming, it could be a sign that your uterus is growing with a baby in there. My fingers are crossed for you!

Susan4988 - Way to go with the (1) follicles, that is definitely progress. I am sure you will have a better outcome on the next round of Clomid. I will be starting Clomid again tonight (100mg from 50) in the hopes it works. I will be thinking of you!

lolis12 - I'm sorry to hear about your BFN, try to keep a good head space and not worry. It WILL work out! I would suggest the injectibles if you and your DH want to try that route. It will increase your chances dramatically if you ovulate more then one egg. My GF was in the same boat, tried injectibles and just gave birth to twins on Sunday. Hang in there!! If my next round of Clomid doesn't work we are moving on to injectibles. My thoughts are with you!

lolis12 - May 25th, 2010 3:28 PM

Bm83 thanks for your words.I will be praying for you too. I hope that your Clomid works. I think we will go ahead and do the injectables i've heard lots of good comments about them. God willing I will get a BFP soon, I hope we all do. tomorrow I go for my BL u/s. I hope everything is okay so that we can get the ball rolling again.

---Tons of baby dust to us ALL---

Patty49 - May 27th, 2010 3:10 PM

bm83: Thanks for the kinds words, I hope your right. I won't be testing until Sunday or Monday. The cramps have subsided a bit, they come and go still. I ovulated on CD10 and my last two months were only 19 day cycles and I'm on day 20 with no AF yet. But with my first IUI AF showed 12dpiui so I'm waiting to see if I get passed that hurdle too :) I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for your next cycle - baby dust to you.

chorona: have you gotten your 2nd set of results?

chorona - May 27th, 2010 3:59 PM

bm83 thanks so much for the encouraging words. Unfortunately my second test today showed that my beta had dropped to 15, so I've had a chemical pregnancy. I'm so sad but at least I know that I can get pregnant. Now it's just a matter of waiting to start another cycle.
It's just so frustrating because I was pregnant 2 days ago, and even last night I did a home pregnancy test just to see that extra pink line and it was positive, and now I'm losing it as we speak. I just keep thinking about the women that get pregnant so easily and never have any problems. They don't know how lucky and blessed they are.
I wish you all the best and I'm sending baby dust to all of us!!

chorona - May 27th, 2010 4:02 PM

lolis12 thanks so much for the kind words. I appreciate your prayers. Unfortunately my beta dropped to 15 on my second pregnancy test. I'm sad and frustrated because just last night I did a home pregnancy test and it was positive but I know that I'm losing the pregnancy. I guess I just have to dust myself off and keep trying. It would've been too easy to have it work on my first IUI. :-)
Thanks again, and I wish you all of the best!

bm83 - May 27th, 2010 4:11 PM

chorona - I am not going to lie, it took me about three weeks to even have a conversation with my husband about it. It's hard to believe you were pregnant and that it was taken away. You hit the nail on the head when you said "at least you know you can get pregnant", those are my sentiments exactly, some women aren't as lucky. Hang in there, it will get better, I promise you that.

I too went through that stage of being spiteful about all the women around getting pregnant without any problems but I have to keep reminding myself that when it's "our" turn, the world will be that much happier for us.

My fingers are crossed for your next cycle! I am on day 3 of clomid and start OPK testing next week!

chorona - May 27th, 2010 6:26 PM

Bm83- thank you for your kind words. I know that it will happen eventually, it just sucks that for a lot of us it's a difficult and trying time.
How long have you been ttc? We've been trying for 3 months(we're newlywed). I have pcos so I knew that it would be difficult but I'm happy that it worked on my first clomid cycle and first iui. I think next I'm going to try letrozole(femara) and iui again. Hopefully it will work. I have a followup coming up with my fertility specialist and them we'll from there.
Good luck on this cycle. I hope it works for you. I'll pray for you. Baby dust all around.

chorona - May 28th, 2010 11:12 AM

Patty49: sorry I missed your post from yesterday. Not sure if you've read my last update but I found out yesterday that my beta dropped to 15 so this is not a viable pregnancy. So I'm back to the drawing board. I have retest again in a week to make sure that the beta has gone down completely before I can start another treatment cycle.
I'm really upset because I went from being pregnant one day to not being pregnant the next. What makes it worse is that I've done a home pregnancy test and it shows that I'm pregnant but yet I know that it won't stick.
What is your progress? When do you test? You should be testing soon right?
What has your treatment been so far?
Baby dust to you, I hope this works for you! :-)

bm83 - May 28th, 2010 11:18 AM

Chorona - I can totally relate to you, my husband and I have been trying for almost 3 years (August will be 3) and I too have PCOS. Consider yourself lucky that it's only been three months, healthy couples without fertility problems can have trouble and not get pregnant right away. You are on the right track!

If this cycle doesn't work we will go over which drugs are the best suited for us and go from there.

Each day is better then the next and if me and my husband are any indication, it will bring your marriage closer together.
