From the experience of the millions of tests I have done, the only answer I can give you is... you will KNOW beyond doubt when it is positive. It;s only positive if you can see it and if there is colour....when I got my faint + I tested again a few hours and got a stronger positive... good luck!

ok so my ob /gyn had me do some blood work and my hcg lvl as at 2/11/10 was 123. did an u/s and nothing showed up which im thinking is normal cause i read tht lvls must be 1000 and over to see a sac or fetus, anyway doc wants me to repeat u/s as she suspects ectopic, but i dont wanna do it b4 my lvls are high enough, then again if its ectopic i would like to find out as early as possible so as to try and save my tube.... wats a girl to do!

I would not get a u/s done this early because all its going to do is make you worry and it takes a lot of women until 7 to 8 weeks to see or even hear the heartbeat. As long as your HCG levels are rising then your fine! I got a very faint positive and then my tests kept getting darker over the next few days. My doc. took my blood Moday and my HCG was at 710 and my progesterone was 17.67. Make sure they check your progesteron because i misscarried my first in Aug. and my levels with that one was HCG 86 progesterone 2.2 and when prog. is that low it cannot sustain a pregnancy. How far along are you?? when was your last LMP??

6w4d lmp was sep 26th, im gonna do it tomorrow if it doesnt show up ill repeat it at 8 weeks
