Endometriosis - Anyone!??

I was 25 y.o (March 2004) when I went into surgery to get my endometriosis 'cleared'. They also found an ovarian cyst and assured me that my fertility (ie ovaries and tubes) was good to go. They encouraged me to TTC straight away. After recovering and getting the necessary vaccinations for chicken pox we began trying in September 2004. We are trying everything and nothing is happening....I am now 26y.o and Jan 2005 has brought AF back to me. Can anyone give me some happy stories that are similar to this. I really need a hopeful story as I am feeling rather helpless!!

Fernanda, keep your hopes up, girl!! I also have endometriosis and my opinion is this: Most women who have endometriosis to go on to have chilren, but they take long to conceive. You have to have more patience than other women. I am battling to accept that I am a victim of endometriosis, but that's just the way it is. You cannot let this beat you, keep trying but don't expect anything, otherwise this will break your spirits! At least you are still very young to conceive so you have a few years ahead of you, so you are fine!! Just keep trying, never ever lose hope!! I am 31 and always wanted three children, but since i've now already tried for 2 years without any luck, I guess I will have fewer children now, maybe only one or two if I'm lucky. So I'm really worse off than you, that's why I say, keep trying, be hopeful, be courageous! Best of luck!

Ina, thank you for your reply....I am very glad to hear that someone out there is experiencing the same battle. Patience is hard to have when so many others are blessed 'quicker' in a sense...My time will come. Thank you for hope!!

I know of a woman who had endo and she had a little boy. Don't let know doctor tell you that endo will cause you not to have a child. I had endo also. Just got married and I know I will have a child. See I serve a God who is the doctor of the doctors and He will give you the desires of your hearts when you obey His Word. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart acknowledge Him in all thy ways and He shall direct your paths.

Girl I speak life to your womb this day forward and speak death to infertility. Trust God no matter what!

WOW am I glad this site. I have endo also. I'm 32 and have had 2 surgeries in the past four years. Once again (just like every month) I thought I was pregnant, only to find out yesterday that I'm not. I spent last night and today crying and wondering If I will ever hear someone call me mommy? (I'm sure you all know how that feels) And as much as I never want anyone to experience this pain, it's nice to know there are people out there who understand the pain you go through and the desire you have to hold a child of your own. I must not be the only one wakes up sick or feels a little lightheaded and thinks "this is it". I have enjoyed sharing with you all and reading the response from below, especially the one from "lady". I to have a friend that had endo and now has a beautiful 4 year old little girl. Thinking back I was the one telling her never to give up and hold on to her faith.God was just taking his time making her baby extra special. As we know it's much easier to give this advise. Anyway thanks again and keep me in your prayers, as I will all of you. Maybe someday soon we can be sharing our good news and giving someone else hope! God Bless!

Fernanda, You should look into alternative therapy. Acupuncture can help you with this.

I just went thru surgery for a cyst & endo in Dec of 2004. I have remarried my new husband has no kids. I do have 3 from my previous marrige. I was also told that after the surgery they didnt have to take the ovaries & everything was ok. 1st my dr. wanted me to take Loupron & then has decited that I dont need the shot onec a month, to chart my basal body temp for 3 months & if I'm not pregant by then she will do some fertility testing to see if i can get pregant. I have cahrted now for 2 months & during my 2 month my period was not the same as it usually is. I have also started feeling sicl to my stomach almost everyday & my breasts started hurting. They feel swollen & they do hurt most of the time, so I took a pregancy test & it has come up negative:( CAN SOMEONE TELL ME NOW WHAT? I'm glad that i found this site. When i think back i jsut wonder how long i have had endo b4 founding out i did have bad cramps for a very long time. Maybe for over a year. Please tell me there is hope.:)

I was 17 when I was told i had endo. I had the surgury right away. My doctor always told me not to wait to long. Now I am 27 and just married. We have only been trying for 1 mth, but I am so scared that the out come will be negitive. I wonder if I just waited to long. Only time will tell, and some how during this time you just have to believe.

Never ever give up! I have had endometriosis since I was 18 years of age but Doctors were unable to diagnose me until I was 28. I was just fobbed off with "IBS" (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) which does come hand in hand with Endometriosis. Anyway, when I was diagnosed with Endo I was told by the Gynea that I should start trying for a child immediately. I asked who they suggested the father should be as I was in the middle of breaking up with my partner at the time. It is not always right to have a baby willy nilly just upon the Doctors advise as it has got to be right for you. I am 36 now and am now in a happy stable relationship. We have been trying to concieve since December, But we have been told we only have 30 per cent chance of conception, as my other had a vasectomy reversal in August after having the vasectomy over 16 years ago. We are trying to stay postive as that is the only way forward. My friend who is the same age as me also has endometriosis and has just had her second child and fell pregnant almost immediately. So everyone out there keep smiling and think positive. I know it a cliche but "All Good Things Come to Those Who Wait". Good Luck

I too had endo. I believe in God. Psa 118:8. I stopped all medication, all doctors, all surgery. I am feeling better than ever before. No more pain. My baby is on the way! Don't Give up, have faith.

My sister has endometriosis.
She has been through so much since she was 18 (she is now 26).
She has had so many operations, drugs and shots. She bleeds for months at a time. Her and her husband have been trying to get pregnant for 1 1/2 years. Her Dr. put her back on birth control two months ago to get her periods regular again.
Today she found out that she is 5 weeks pregnant!!! I am so happy for her. Who knows what works, just keep trying. Good Luck!

I know how you feel. I have stage 4 endo. and since I was 22 and diagnosed, I have had 4 surgeries, lupron injections and have been on the pill. The pill was the only thing that helped. I am now 33 and have been trying to get pregnant for 3 years with 1 miscarriage in 2002. My IBS is getting worse, so my husband and I have decided to go with IVF. We hope it works. It is comforting to know I am not the only one who suffers. People who don't have it will never know. I swear labor pains would probably be less painful. I wish they could find a cause and cure. I believe it causes so many other problems in women. Don't give up! It will happen!

Deena - April 29

I was diagnosed with endo when I was 16. The way it was discovered was due to ovarian cyst...and was found during a surery. I went on to have 3 more surgeries for the endo, also took two 3 month round of the Lupron shots, and at around 21 diagnosed with severe cervical dsyplasia. I had surgery for that also. I was engaged April 2004 and we started trying early due to the endo...I was 25 at 24 at the time. I conceived my daughter in Sept...married in Nov. and had her in May. We are now looking to try for another one soon, so don't let your hopes get you down. I always thought it would take forever of trying with all the surgeries and all. I did have to have a c/s but due to the Dr's screw up (in my opion). I wasn't allowed to labor. But don't think the endo will stop anything. Good luck!!!

Hi, There is hope!! I have a daughter who is 2years and 5 months, I had huge problems ater her birth and finally I was diagnosed with Endo last aug(2004) Have had different types of treatment but nothing worked. I am 25 and the docs put on the injection which chemically put in the menaporse and I was taking HRT, I finshed the cause in Feb 2005 the docs told me, It would be at least 12 months before I could concieve, if at all!!! I am now 12 weeks pregnant. it happened within weeks of coming of the treatment. I stopped thinking about wanting to be pregnent and it seemed to just happen. What I will say is that this pregnancy is very difficult because of the Endo. I've had to give up work as the pain is so intense. So there is hope for you, But it may not be easy. Take care and best of luck.

I also have Endo and was diagnosed 2 years ago with Laproscopy. I am 19 now, & I have horrible periods (heavy, clots, & cramps). I have been on the pill, the patch, & lupron for this. I think it is one of the worse things I have every experienced. My partner and I have decided to just "baby dance" alot more and hope to be blessed with a baby. I also heard that having a baby is the only thing that really helps cure the Endo. I am so scared that I wont be able to concieve.
