Does the use of drugs for years make a man infertile?
For example, My Husband and i just got married and we want children. I have two from a previous marrige and he has one. but we have been trying to get pregnant for over 2 years now. He use to do drugs(cocain and crack) for years but now he has stopped. I want to know if that would have affected him? I was under alot of stress also in the past because of my ex-husband.I was lossing alot of hair. Could that also affect it? I am no longer under stress and he is no longer using drugs.

I shouldn't think so. If he has already managed to have one child, he's obviously not infertile but the use of drugs may have affected the mobility of his sperm or he may have a lower sperm count as a consequence. I have a similar problem to you - my boyfriend has smoked weed for the past 4 years of his life (he's 19) and has also done cocaine, magic mushrooms and ecstay pills and we've had no success for about 4 months now. On the one hand this things take time though 2 years is rather long. Stress will be affecting your body as well - we know it can affect your periods drastically.

Have you been to see anyone just to get yourselves checked out?

my dh and i have been ttc for almost 2 yrs now. both he and i smoke marijuana once in awhile......i think it FOR SURE effects conception. were quitting this month and will resume trying in august when he and i will be deemed "clean" i think it is best for u and baby to not use nor should daddy. try some herbal tea as a replacement for the habit......
