O-Baby

what symptoms are you getting with clomid? It can be a harsh medication.
I am soooo happy I am helping you :) :) :)

I have been worried (shock-horror) as my symptoms are disappearing, not completely but noticably. Ive had 2 doctors tell me thats when to worry.

Im going to give it a couple of days to come good before I go to the dr, horrible feeling though.

Im hoping its just settling not actually disappearing.

I think once you reach the dose thats effective for you that it will work quite quick- its just finding that dose. Ive heard some doctors only increase doses by very small amounts therefore taking a lot longer to find the right dose.

I believe it will happen for you, and if its giving you symptoms then obviously your body is reacting to it :) ITS ALL POSITIVE SIGNS :)

Hey banabury

Clomid is giving me a ton of symptoms.....my boobs are sore, I am a little irritable at times (more than usual) hahaha! Gives me little headaches, a little cramping. I have had to pee so much more often also.

So if your symptoms start to disappear, then that means your dosage will have to be upped??

And yes, you are helping me so very much! :)

My AF should be here around the 15th or 16th....so I am really getting ready for that....it will be my second cycle of Clomid. I am hoping that we get pregnant this time! I am just super excited to actually be on some meds that I know have worked for other women that have the same problem as I.

Do you use ovulation kits at all? If so what brand?

And I hope that your symptoms are not disappearing all the way.

So how long were you on Clomid?

Hi,

I am new to this forum and have been reading forums for many months and thought I would finally join, hoping that talking about things more will help me dealing with everything that I'm feeling. I have been diagnosed with PCOS.
My first month on clomid the pharmacy actually mis-filled my prescription and gave me an anti-physotic instead by accident . . .not impressed.

Then the next month (since they realized their mistake) I got to start my first cycle of clomid. which I started out on 50mg. I ovulated that month and got my positive ovulation test on day 13, but unfortunately no pregnancy.

The next month I again took 50mg of clomid on cd 3-7 again, However this time I didn't ovulate. So we started again this month with an increased dosage to 100mg on days 3-7. I am currently on day 13 and still have not had a positive ovulation test yet. But I know this can sometimes take up to day 18 and that the first month I ovulated pretty early in my cycle.

My concern though is that I'm not seeing the mucus treads that I saw with my first month of ovulation and this is worrying me that it's not going to work again this month. I do know though that clomid can dry up the mucus and maybe since this month I'm on a higher dosage I won't really notice it like I did the first? Banaburay did you see the EW mucus still when on 100mg? Any input would be appreciated and banaburay I'm happy for you that it has worked and you're pregnant, that helps give me my hopes back that me and husband will be able to conceive as well.

I just found out I'm pregnant again after just 2 cycles of unprescribed clomid and Hcg shot. I did exactly what I did in Jan 2010 when I got pregnant with my twins who are now 5 months old. I'm so happy :)

I don’t want to get your hopes up as that would be cruel but your symptoms sounded like mine when I didn’t know I was pregnant : ) it sounds really encouraging!
I didn’t use an ovulation kit, I had a progesterone serum blood test on cycle day 21 to confirm ovulation. My dr said day 12, 14 & 16 to have sex. I had sex days 13 & 16. I was too sore to try anymore lol
What day of your cycle are you on now?
I did a pregnancy text on day 30 of my cycle and it was faint, but it was there (and I got a blood test) I got so emotional when that second line popped up, I stared at it til I fell asleep that night then the next morning it was the first thing I looked at as soon as my eyes were open just to make sure it was still there lol
This was my 3rd round of clomid. I had it August (50mg), September (75mg) then December (100mg).
Im very excited for you. I was peeing like my bladder was the size of a pea. I did get a major cold and tonsillitis (I took kelfex as my antibiotic- which is safe in pregnancy) apparently getting sick can be a sign of pregnancy as its your body’s way of deflecting your immune system from attacking your egg when its implanting.

Hi Hopefullysoon
Omg I cant believe you were given an antipsychotic! How bad is that!
I was worried as I heard that on higher doses of clomid can cause mucus which can stop the sperm reaching the egg but on my 100mg dose I only got mucus (clear) during ovulation.
Clomid is supposed to work 5-8 days after your last tablet. Perhaps sooner with you.
I took it days 5-9 as several fertility doctors told me the egg quality is stronger on these days therefore if pregnancy occurs it has a better chance of survival. I was also told day 3-7 and days 1-5 can achieve more pregnancies per cycle than days 5-9 but less of them survive. I wanted a pregnancy so bad that I thought of changing my days I took clomid but then decided on the dr’s advice of 5-9 being better egg(s). I just thought I would share with you what i was told.
I know everyone is different – for me 100mg did the trick : ) I was so proud when I ovulated I wasn’t thinking about the chances of it turning into a pregnancy. I kept thinking go me, I did it. I grew & released an egg lol
Dont be discouraged over the lack of ovulation thus far. Its usually a dosage thing. My dr said PCOS & fertility isn’t if it will work but a case of when it will work : )
I hope for you and O-Baby its sooner rather than later.

Jen30
OMG! Wow, I wonder if you’ll end up with another set of twins lol maybe boys this time : ) I didn’t know you were trying for another baby. Very exciting for you!

hopefullysoon - February 11

Hey Banaburay,

Yeah I'm thinking it's just a dosage issue as well and I know with PCOS being resistant to clomid is one of the side affects of the disorder. I still have a couple days of hope that I'll ovulate, as I'm on cd15 right now. So I have my fingers crossed that I'll get a positive ovulation test in the next 2 days. Then I go for a blood test on day 22 to confirm if I did or didn't ovulate. Then if I didn't I guess my dosage will be increased from 100mg to 150mg next month.

Also because next month would be my 4th month on clomid, if I'm not pregnant by the end of that month my doctor wants me to get an HSG test done, where they flush out your falllopian tubes, before I continue with anymore months. But here is to hoping I ovulate first :) I'll keep you posted on my progress as the month continues :)

I am started my first cycle of clomid this upcoming month march 2011 and i'm really hoping it works, everyone and their dog seems to be pregnant and for once i just wish it was my turn. please pray for me and my husband, i'll keep you posted!!

HEY! I am Ashley. I am new here alsi and kind of hoping for a Clomid buddy. I actual won't start Clomid until May or June....but, I want to talk with someone who is in my situation and I am trying to learn everything I can.

I feel the same way as you....I JUST WANT MY TURN... Some ppl pop babies out as often as I pump gas and it is irritating. I wish u the best of luck!!! Have u read up on the instead softcup as a fertility aid? I have heard it works like magic!!! Want more info??

Also.....it will help you to start taking prenatal vitamins daily, folic acid daily, 81 mg baby aspirin daily, and use the instead softcup everytime right after you BD!!! It holds sperm in (it is actually meant for a tampon replacement...so it catches ur AF.....therefore, it can catch sperm and hold those suckers in!). Also, have u looked into your husband taking vitamin C or Volume Pill??

W/B...Excited to hear from you.

Flushing out your tubes isn’t a bad idea. I had these paranoid thoughts of needing my tubes looked at, I think because I had that want of a baby (and everyone I know is pregnant or have little ones which would make me desperately sad knowing how hard we are trying and how easy it comes to so many others) I thought ‘what if I ovulate but there is a tube issue and it cant get out’, I think if I was given the option just to make sure I was ok I would of got it done purely to scratch it off my lists of ‘omg what if’s..”’
I would go for 100mg before the big 150mg : ) just to minimise the mucus which could be an issue, thats just me though.

Hopefullysoon, definitely let us know whats happening with you. I think like with O-Baby, when you get the right dose it will work. I have heard some people are insulin resistant and need metformin, I don’t personally know anyone who has needed it but apparently it combines well with clomid. If clomid alone isn’t doing the trick then maybe ask your doctor- and Jen30 has a hcg shot with her clomid to boost it. Maybe you could ask about it.
I had a dr issue when asking him questions (after reading forums) I think at the beginning he thought I was doubting his opinion then he realised I was just wanting a baby and wanting it soon lol so he can handle to influx of q’s I have....

J-Rafih

You poor thing having AF for so long.. if everythings looking healthy & well prior to clomid you can only be optimistic : ) how long does your cycle last if AF goes for 14 days??
Are they inducing a period when you begin or when you have a natural one?
Good luck!

Abg1989- Ashley
Hi there...
I too began pregnancy & breastfeeding formula multi vitamins & minerals at the beginning of my cycle-DAY 1, only this last cycle I didn’t lol I wasn’t expecting it to work then felt horribly guilty when I found out I was pregnant and began taking them straight away.
I just used to lay still after sex to keep the sperm in, I didn’t get up and move about. So your using a ‘plug’ so-to-speak?
Let us know how you feel when you begin clomid.

O-BABY - February 12

Hey banabury,

I am on day 27...if AF is coming it will be here between the 15th and 17th...Should anyways. My husband and I are just keeping our fingers crossed that it doesn't come and that we are already pregnant. If AF doesn't come then I will be real excited to start my second month of Clomid, and pray that it works! :) And I also go in for blood test, but it is on day 23. I am just too excited!! lol But I am only on 50mg....not sure if I will have to have it upped or not....time will tell. :) You said that your doc said that days 5-9 were better for eggs, that is exactly what my doc told me. I suppose that makes more sense, I mean since it is toward the end of your menstrual.

Hopefullysoon- Yeah that is totally crazy that they gave you an anti- psychotic ( no pun intended) lol But really, that is just insane! Can't believe they didn't catch that. But I am glad that you were ok and that you finally got started on Clomid. I hope that it works for you soon!

I know exactly how you feel! It can be so frustrating, but I believe everything will work out and we will all have precious little ones!! :) Good luck to you, keep us updated for sure.

J-Rafih-

It sounds like it will be easier for you to get pregnant considering you don't have a problem with ovulation, just a matter of when. But Clomid takes care of that, so you should be pregnant in no time! I wish you luck :) Keep us updated also.

Abg1989- Ashley-

Hi there! I definitely know what you mean by everyone popping out babies! It is like it is in the water around here! lol And I too want MY turn! :)

I will tell you this, if you have had problems conceiving....once you get on Clomid you will feel a little better just knowing that you are actually taking a med that can help....it was a relief to me anyway. I will be starting my second cycle of Clomid should be next week and I am so excited about it! The only thing that I have bad to say about Clomid would be that it does make some women gain weight...ME! UGGHHH! But, I keep telling myself that it will all be well worth it. :)

Soft cup....I will have to read up on that, it sounds like it would really work.

J-Rafih - February 12

Hey abg1989

I'm glad to have a clomid buddy too, i'm nervous to start not because i'm scared of the side effects i'm scared that it might not work, unless someone is going through it they can't imagine the anxiety and fear that comes with every passing month... a few cycles back they tried to put me on 100mg of progesterone and it ended up giving me an AF that last 21 days... i know crazy right... so i stopped that and now i'm waiting for my next cycle to start to take 50mg of clomid.

I've been taking a prenatal vitamin daily, what is the science behind the baby aspirin?? I've never heard the about the soft cup thing before but i'll defintely have to look into it..

Banaburay-
My cycles are not usually the same, one month it could be 28 days then it could be 36 days then it could be 2 weeks of AF one week off and then back on again... i feel like i'm always on AF it drives me nuts... i really hope this helps regulate my cycle. I know it's a hormone issue because when i was on the pill my cycles were perfect!!

O-Baby-
thanks for the encouraging words, I hope everything works out the way we all want it to, i'll defintely keep you posted!!

O-BABY - February 12

J-Rafih-

Your welcome :) I am glad that we all have someone that we can chat with on here that is going through the same thing, or very similar thing. I didn't think that near as many women were going through what I am, it is sad that we are in this situation, but it is good because we can talk to each other and get different info and encouragement from one another. I am also glad to have a few Clomid buddies! :)

O-BABY - February 12

So.....I woke up this morning and guess who came to visit...yup thats right, AF, just a couple days sooner than expected! So with AF being here I now know that in just a few short days I will be starting my second cycle of Clomid. I am excited that AF came on its own with no help!! YAY! And of course I ovulated...WOOHOOO! I am taking it all as a good sign and I am very hopeful that this is going to work! So today is a pretty good day! :) I was extremely worried that I wasn't going to have AF on my own and was going to have to be put back on provera! So glad I didn't have to do that this time around.

Hope that all of you are having a great weekend :)

abg1989 - February 13

O-Baby....sorry to hear about AF showing. It is so awkward for me to actually meet someone who gets excited when AF comes naturally. lol! Some women are like you're lucky not to have periods. UMMMMM NO. When u r ttc periods are heaveny! Like u said, when I start the clomid, each cycle will be exciting just bc u know ur that much closer (HOPEFULLY!)...Baby Dust to you this cycle and until u get BFP!

J-Rafih. 21 DAYS OH MYYYYY!!!!! Baby aspirin helps you to keep from blood clotting which reduces risk of m/c. i am also kind of scared about starting clomid. but i know it will be worth it in the end! u will be jsut fine. i am praying for u and sending baby dust ur way.

Banaburay....yes, the instead cup is basically a plug (not like a tampon bc it absorbs it) but a "cup" literally. it holds sperm in. so u got ur fp? how many cycles were u on clomid and how far along r u? GOOD LUCK

i need to look back throuhg this thread and familiarize myself with everyone's stories.

So....I guess I should tell everyone a bit about me, since I plan on staying here awhile!

My name is Ashley and I am 21. DF...soon to be DH on May 14....is Barry and he is 24 next week. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY! lol. We have been together for 5 years. I started AF at the age of 13 and they have nevvvvvver been regular. I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism my senior year of high school, I kept gaining weight and not having AF (unless on BC) and I finally got a diagnosis. Last year, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. NOT INVASIVE. THANK GOD. Doc told us to start TTC asap because I could very well need a hysterectomy anytime. So...we were more than ready and had actually been ttc for 3 months at that time...so we continued what we were doing. But, it is hard to TTC when u never have AF!!!!! Doc finally decided to figure out what was up since the thyroid meds were not helping with regulating AF and weight gain. After some tests, I was diagnosed with PCOS on January 6. Doc wanted me to go on 3 months worth of BC and start Clomid in May or June.

So...she had to run some tests and on Jan. 7 I got a call that i was miraculously preggo! OMG....i know! Turned out to be a chemical pregnancy. You could only imagine the pain! Trying soooooo hard and having it ripped away from you in a few short days...it feels like someone ripping your heart out!

So, here I am!!! Took provera to start AF...will start BC tomorrow and take it for 3 LOOOOOONG months. Supposedly it helps get your ovulation on track and increases Clomid success.... idk but i sure hope so!!!

Also, I talked with Cheri, the baby psychic. I was so desperate! Anyone want to hear what she said??
