I'm 22 years old and I've been trying to get pregnant with my husband for about 1 year now with no success. Recently went to the Doctor and got some Clomid. I already completed my first round. Today is Christmas and I'm ovulating. Let's hope God gives me the best Christmas present in the world! A baby! I'll keep you guys updated! Good luck to everyone!

Hey ladies. Took a month off from Clomid and started again this cycle. Im now testing for OV, but having issues. I find the Clomid makes me go to the bathroom all night, so my OV predictor tests are never easy to read. Does anyone recommend a certain brand? I've tried most of them, and am very frustrated. My Fert. Dr. keeps telling me I'm ovulating early, but the test doesn't say that. So we have been doign the BD since the last day I took the dose, every other day. This is my 3rd, and final round (per dr's orders as of right now) so I'm praying this month could be the lucky one. I'm turning 37 in a few weeks and if this doesn't work, its time to discuss IVF...praying it doesn't get to that, my insurance doesn't cover it, so we will have to finance it, with no guarantees. I'm physically exhausted from trying for so many years, but can't give up!! Baby dust to all! ***~~*~*~*~*~*~

Hoping to have success with this! I am very hopeful seeing everyone's success stories. I will keep everyone posted. *fingers crossed* How many women on here were trying for years? And how many twins? :)

Hi, it took some time but I've read every page of posts on this thread. The stories are just so inspiring, and I am learning so much that I couldn't stop reading them! I've felt so alone lately and was hoping I could find a forum like this, and I'm so glad that I did! I adore my dh but I feel like I can't express all that I'm thinking or feeling because all he says is 'it will happen.' I just don't think he really understands what I'm going through or how it effects me knowing that I'm the reason we can't have a child (his tests came out fine).
I'm 33 and have been ttc for over a year now. I did the HSG, which came out fine, so I'm starting my first round of Clomid tonight (100mg, cd5) and going for my first u/s on the 15th. My doc said we can try naturally or just go right to IUI and I've decided to try IUI. I was never tested for PCOS, and since I get my af pretty regularly now, Im not sure if that's the problem. I also get positive opk's on my own, but we're still not pg, so I'm assuming that I'm not actually releasing an egg. But who knows.

I have a few questions about Clomid though...
1. Will it mess anything up if af ended before you start taking your first dose? I'm starting on Day 5, but am worried that I should have started sooner since my af was short this month.
2. I'm confused about the robitussin, if the Clomid makes you more dry, won't the robitussin make that worse?
3. Can I start using the opk's the day after my last Clomid dose, or will the tests not be accurate because of the drug? If so, how long should I wait?

Thanks to all of you for keeping this forum going and for being there for each other!

Hi kittymom
I dont often read or comment on this forum any more as my circumstances are simewhat changed now, but i just wanted to answer some of your questions.
Very quick history so you know who I am - I am now 31 weeks pregnant with a little girl, I conceived her after being diagnosed with pcos & trying a few cycles of clomid.
So in answer to your questions, I think it is fine to start on cd 5. With my clomid cycles i always took it from days 5-9.
Robitussin increases cervical mycus. Clomid dried me out so that was why i used robitussin. Ialso drank grapefruit juice twice a day cd 10-21. Ate pinapple core for 5 days from cd 14. And used preseed (lubricant) when BD'ing. Not sure which if any worked, but somehow i got my bfp!
I cant comment on opk's as i never used them. I felt it would just add extra stress/pressure which i didnt need. But each to their own.

I wish u & all the ladies all the very best in your ttc journeys. It is a very hard & draining time. As much as this may sound annoying, really try to relax & just enjoy life while ttc'ing. Stress is the absolute worst thing for your body.
Micha xo

Hi Kittymom...My Doctor prescribed me medicine from 2nd day of my period to 6th day of my period..and even i read some article which states that the patient should take on 2nd day to 6th day of period or 3rd day to 5th day of period.....just hope for the best...Dont worry..
As I have completed my first round of Clomid I dont hav any such that...or it may differe from person to person me and my husband does not this issue....
Generally it recommended that if u take clomid on 2nd of ur period than the opk should be done on 9th day of ur period..
if u start on 3rd day of ur period than it has to be on 10th day of the period and as follow...but as u say u started on 5th day of ur period then its hard to say...but u can check on clomid ovulation calculator and can perdict ur ovulation day...

Just hope for the best and may god shower his lov on us...

Hi Micha,
I'm so happy for you that you'll soon have a baby girl! I hope my story turns out the same way. Thanks for your BFP 'formula.' I'll definitely use some of those tricks.

I started Clomid on day 5, and don't really feel any different except for a constant headache uggg. I'm afraid to be optimistic as this is my first month trying it, but will just keep praying...

Jinni - thanks for the info. If this month doesn't work out for me, I'll ask my doc about starting it on day 2 or 3.

kristengarcia - do you have an update for us? I hope it's good news!

Hi All! I am new to the site, read many of your posts actually started from the first post read a couple of pages then decided to jump to current day. Anyways I am trying to conceive, me and hubby have been trying for about 3 years. We've been married for 3 1/2 years and I been on birth control since I was 12 then stopped about 1 month after we got married. 1 year before we got married I developed a cyst on my left ovary and had to have it removed. After that my Dr. Said that I was to see a specialist, I went to one visit then lost my job/ insurance so had to wait it out. I wasn't stressing it, but probably 1 year ago we started aggressively tying. I was trying to just relax and let it happen in God's time but them when I went for my annual my Dr. asked why I wasn't going to see the specialist and that it's not fair but I'm going to have to "try" to get pregnant, meaning do what the specialist is telling you to do. I guess you can say I have unexplained infertility so to speak because my tubes aren't blocked, I have regular periods, I ovulate. Now I do have endometriosis and fibroids, but the fibroids are small and don't impede on my cervix or uterus . My specialist Dr. Said everything appears fine just do "it" to the right side lol! I do usual stalk on forums and not comment, but I felt like I should say something. I am on my second round of clomid along with a trigger shot, my 1st round was 50mg cd 3-7, Dr. bumped me up to 100mg 2nd round bc my progesterene was low last month. I was so sad last month, when on 12/26 first I didn't get my period which was the same day I was suppose to test, well actually I was suppose to get AF on 12/24 and I'm never late. But then day after Christmas no AF didn't even feel like she was on the way so I thought wow could this be the month??!!! Then later that day like afternoon I started spotting, which I never do AF just comes, oh and that morning I took a prego test; negative :(. My hubby was like well you still could be prego, but when I started spotting and then later that evening started cramping really bad knew it was AF coming with a vengeance ugh!!! Now Jan I'm on round 2 of the emotional roller coaster; clomid Dec 28-31st. U/S 1/8 to see follicles, had 2 mature ones and 2 smaller ones, trigger shot that day, now it's the waiting game. Can take test 1/23, so we will see, lots of prays and baby dust!!!

Oh forgot to mention my age I'm 33yrs old :), and never been pregnant.

Hi Everyone!

This is my first post. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for 6 months now. We started trying at the end of July 2012 on our anniversary. I made a doctor's appointment, because I have always had very irregular periods. I was tested for PCOS. I tested positive. I don't have any other symptoms other than irregular periods. I have been feeling really discouraged. We decided that we would try with out drugs for 6 months. If we did not have any luck we would get on Clomid. It has been 6 months this month. I could be pregnant, but won't be able to test for another 5 days or so... I don't have my hopes up. I have a doctor's appointment scheduled for February 7th to start on Clomid. I have been taking Provera to start my periods. That has been successful, but I know it does not make you ovulate. I can definitely relate with everyone on how hard it is when you feel that everyone around you is pregnant. I have several friends that are pregnant and my sister-in-law. I am happy for them, but just want the same. I struggle with wanting to go into seclusion just to avoid being around pregnant people...lol..For those who have are taking Clomid, could you please give me some advise. I could use it. Thanks!!!

Prayerful4lilones - January 11

Crmr2008,
I'm on cycle 2, fortunately I have not had many bad side effects if any at all. I might be a little more emotional but not nothing crazy. My advice is its worth trying, I mean do your research and maybe weigh out the pros n cons. Good luck, wishing lots of baby dust your way!
