Micha- I get ovarian pain also. I don't believe you have anything to worry about, just your body getting ready.
How are you feeling now?

Micha - June 5th, 2012 3:47 AM

Thanku szeretlek. Im fine now, I tend to just have these momentary freak outs haha! How are you? Where are you at in your cycle? Just a bit infront of me from memory?

szeretlek - June 5th, 2012 9:59 AM

I get the same way. No worries.
Things are good. I have one more 25 Clomid pill to take tonight. Sunday I go to the clinic for my cycle monitoring. The fun 2 ultrasounds and the blood work. See if I can make less follicles this time. Still no side effects from the Clomid so I always am shocked when I go to the clinic and find out what my body has been up to.
What CD are you?.

szeretlek - June 11th, 2012 11:31 AM

Hey, I just came home from my 2nd day of monitoring. Had blood work and another ultrasound. 2 of my follicles have gone from 20 to 19 and the other one is bigger then yesterday. I need to back again in the morning for another blood test and ultrasound. They want to see if they will get bigger. I have never had them get smaller in a day, only bigger. The doc said they are all still mature and I have a good number of follicles. We shall see what tomorrow brings. I really hope they just trigger me tomorrow.Has anyone else had this happen?. I'm so sick of blood work

Hey all!! I have been readin this forum for a while and finally decided to join... I too am ttc. My husband and I have tried for over a year and noe have turned to the doctors.... A little background...

I have a 8 year old son I had previous to my husband a few years back I ha an iud had it take. Out due to pain and caused me to have meant cyst. Now if has been told to me I either have pcos or am borderline... My doctor thinks either glucophage and clomid will be my combo or clomid by itself or with another drug any who I won't start this while process until 2 more weeks just trying to mentally wrap my mind around it all :)

Szeretlek -- im not sure sorry as i dont have ultrasounds only bloodwork on day 21. Im sure it will be fine though. So why do they give you the trigger shot? Dont the eggs release on their own? My gyno has never talked about this before thats all.
Blessed521 -- welcome aboard! Yes it can be hard to get your head around. I was upset when i got my pcos diagnosis but now im just glad i know whats wrong and that there ate things you can do, like clomid.
Afm im on cd13 now so in the baby dance stage. Its such an anxious time, i hate all the waiting. Im really hopeful though that this will be my round. Doing everything possible to better my chances.

I went for another round of blood work and ultrasound. Happy to say my 2 follicles on the one side that had gone down are now 21 and 22 and on the right side I have 22. I got a trigger shot today to release the eggs so I am good to go now.I go back in 2 weeks. I really hope this will be our month :)
Micha- I got the hCG trigger shot to ensure that the mature eggs are released. I do ovulate on my own but the doc wanted to take a more aggressive approach to help me get pregos faster. The ultrasound determined my follicles are ready. The trigger shot can narrow down your best time for conception. I'm doing Clomid and timed intercourse. The clinic will not give the trigger shot if I have more that 3 mature follicles. My first month on Clomid I had 2 mature and 2 others that weren't. They wanted to release the eggs before the other 2 could mature.
I think some people get the trigger if they aren't ovulating, or are ovulating very late. They also don't want your eggs to overmature.
The shot does result in the release of more than one matured egg, which increases the risk of multiple births. These "risks" were discussed with the doctor.
Good luck to you this month :) The waiting period is sooo hard. Keep positive.

Blessed521- Yes welcome.I have a couple friends with pcos. I have had cysts all my life. I was lucky to not have any side effects from the Clomid. Good luck on your cycle.

Thanks szeretlek. I feel positive this round is yours! (hopefully mine too!) Its going to be a long two weeks but im already getting excited!
Cd14 for me today and seems i THINK i ov'd on cd16 last time, dh and i have decided to BD on cd 14, 15 and 16 (even though my gyno said every second day). Sorry if TMI!

szeretlek - June 13th, 2012 11:01 AM

Micha- Thanks, I hope it will be your month also. The clinic told me after they gave me the trigger the best days would be that night, and the next 2 days. They say the day you ovulate and then the 2 days after.
Are you doing the ovulation tester or getting monitoring?. I get the monitoring but I have done the clear blue tester and it works so well.

Micha - June 14th, 2012 1:16 AM

Well thats interesting. I always thought the best time was before you ov! Maybe Ill do both to be safe :) Well no i dont have monitoring (only progesterone on day 21). I have never used opks but if this not my month i will consider it.
Im assumin tomorrows my iv day cause day16 last time i had ovulation twinges all day which i dont normally have so i assumed that was it! Getting scared though in case it doesnt happen. My clomid side effects have been much milder this time. But i know you dont get any so hopefully im still good!
Now, off to eat some more pineapple core!

szeretlek - June 14th, 2012 10:23 AM

Hi, because I got the trigger shot I know exatly when I ovulate. With the monitoring a couple days before I know how many follicles I have and if they will trigger me or not so I still do try to do the 2 days before ovulation and then the recommended 3 days (trigger shot day and the 2 after)
Since they say sperm can live in the body for up to five days, don't worry. Hope this cycle works for you :)

Blessed521 - June 14th, 2012 12:14 PM

Thank you Ladies for the warm welcome, my husband and I just went to do a semen analysis just to make sure it is me who is the issue. I am a bit nerves with the side affects of clomid and do a lot of women on clomid conceive twins? I will be taking most likely on cycle day 3 I heard cd 5 is better to begin with, but I guess i will see. So exciting!!

szeretlek - June 14th, 2012 9:13 PM

Blessed521- I took Clomid 50 starting on day 3-7 and this month I took it day 2-6. I think they base it on your cycle and maybe your reason for taking clomid.
Clomid does increase your chances of having twins, but not as much as you might think. You have about an 8 percent chance of conceiving twins while taking Clomid. My doc told me I have a 10% chance this cycle. I am a twin so I would be ok with it. :)
Good luck on your first cycle and I hope your don't have and bad side effects. When are you starting?

Micha - June 15th, 2012 5:35 AM

Szeretlek -- thanks hun! Its so exciting and nerve racking. I hope for good news for us both.
Blessed521 -- best of luck. I havent found the side effects too bad at all so hopefully youll find the same. My gyno has me always starting day5. Dont know how they work it out but i just trust the professionals know what theyre doing. Yep like szeretlek said, only increases chance of twins by a little bit. I too would be thrilled to bits to have twins. Only thing id be scared of is how sick id get as ive had hyperemesis with every pregnancy! I try to just not think about that though and will deal with it when it comes.
