Hi everyone, this was my first month taking clomid. I took it on my 5th day and started Ovualation tests on Day 12...I didnt ovulate. So decided to keep taking the tests. I ran out of them before I got a positive. I had really really bad cramps on on Wednesday... my period is expected on the 21 or 22nd of Aug. Could I have ovualated on Wed? That late???

It's possible. Is your doctor doing any ultrasound monitoring? My first cycle on clomid, I ovulated late in my cycle, but I think the timing of my IUI was off. The 2nd (3rd and 4th) cycles I had much more monitoring done. Daily ultrasound from day 10 until the egg was ready and daily bloodwork to check estradiol and LH. Is it an option for you to ask for more monitoring? Did you BD around the time of those cramps just in case? I hope it works out for you!

Thanks for the reply:) Actually my dr did not perscribe me Clomid, my best friend was taking it and I used her prescription. I know its bad...but my stupid family dr won't refer me to infertility specialist until we have been TTC for a least 2 years...it already has been 12 months. I am so mad. I woke this morning and I have cramping like feeling of starting my AF ...is this the clomid or my AF starting?

Is there anything bad that could happen by taking 100mg of clomid and not being persribed it? The only thing I heard is it could cause multiple babies...so if that is all I will take the chance. Since I can't find a dr to help me.

YES, this is not safe. I am only taking 50mg of clomid... any dose can cause hyperstimulation of your ovaries and that is why monitoring is so important. Clomid has many side effects and I am surprised your friend gave you her prescription. This is really not a good idea.

Sorry if it sounds harsh, but you have to be so careful with drugs. I hope you can find a doctor to help you - don't give up looking and take care of yourself.

Hi Meighen, I will not tell you that you are bad for taking unprescribed Clomid. But I will say is if you are going to take the risk of using it, you should look-up all the information you can on it. There could be a number of reasons why you are not getting pregnant, that is why it is a good idea to see a Dr. and rule out everything else first! Like if your tubes are blocked Clomid will not do you any good even if it do make you "O"! And lets say it works and your tubes are good and you also get pregnant but m/c later due to polyps or something else that could have been treated before hand. Clomid has tons of S/E and you can also get painful cycst or worse.

i agree with the other girls if you get cysts from clomid while being monitored they can catch it but if not it will cause bad cramping like pains and it may make you think it is ovulation pains. also if your doc wont refer you to a specialist i would find another doctor. if u have already been trying for a yr that is the requirements for most docs to refer you to someone else. so if your doc isnt referring you it may be bcause they want to take your money and not do anything for you. i would switch docs. clomid has tons of bad side effects you may want to research it on the internet

There is no other dr that will take me since there a shortage of drs where I live. My dr won't send me to a specialist..he said I have to wait a min of 2 years. I am so mad I am not 20 years old I am 29 going on 30.. not to mention I want a few children (well if God gives me more than even just one). I was suppose to get my AF yesterday. Nothing yet..did a preg test neg. If I ovulated late would a preg test show already?

I kinda have pains like a bladder infection is this normal? I dont have any symptoms of being pregnant, my breast are not sore, not feeling sick, but then again if I ovulated late then if I was pregnant I would not be experiencing any sickness, not yet anyway. Is this normal to feel like you have a bladder infection? OR to be late with your AF?
