my dr. just prescribed me 50 mg of Clomid for 6 cylces and told me that 6-8% of all women that use clomid have multiple births. So I guess my question is how many of you ladies got pregnant with twins on Clomid? we would welcome twins but I am just curiuos of my chances. Thanks!

i was on it for 6 months straight and never even got a BFP, much less twins. i think the stats are right on, it is not realy that many women that have multiples on it. the chances go up once you jump to injectables etc. with IUI. good luck!

I am just starting my treatment. I will be taking Clomid from days 3-7 of my cycle. My dr. never mentioned I will be taking it for such long periods. Then on day 13 of the cycle I will get Profassi; a progesterone shot. He says that the % is high for twins on this kind of treatment.

I am on my 6th mo of clomid and have yet to have a BFP. My RE moniters my cycles through ultrasound, and I only usually produce 1 big follicle...this month I had 2; but clomid offers one of the lowest risks for mulyiples in comparison to other ovarian stumulation meds. Hope this helps!

there is a chance of multiples- but with clomid, it is very small. Clomiphene citrate (clomid) has a relatively low multiples rate, around three to six percent, usually twins. Injectable menotropins (such as Metrodin, Pergonal, Humegon, and Repronex) and gonadotropins (like Gonal F and Follistim) have demonstrated an overall multiple rate (based on live births) of 15% to 20%, and a triplet or more rate of 5% to 25% percent.
