Hello everyone! I am new to the forum. I am 43 and trying to get pregnant. My doctor put me on Clomid this month on cd5-9. I started having pain in both of my ovaries around cd14-15. I figured it was from ovualting. Had a positive Ovualtion test. The pain went away but came back on cd18 but only in my left ovary. Has anyone experienced this? I am concerned about ovarian cysts. I read that clomid could cause them. Should I be worried? Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It couldn't hurt to get an u/s of your ovaries to be sure you are cyst free. I can tell you that my ovulation was way more intense than usual and came with alot of ovary pain, i don't recall having any post ovulation pain. i suggest calling your doctor and let him know what is going on. good luck!

The discomfort in my left ovary seems to be better today. Not sure why but I am glad. Another question I do have is on the side effects of Clomid, how long do they last? Do they normally go away a few days after using it or could they linger on for a while?

the medicine's half life is 5 days. so the clomid is in your system for about 5 days after you are done taking it. I noticed my side effects lasted about 3-5 days after that. everyone is different........good luck!
