Hey, guys! I am in the middle of waiting for my first cycle after the laparoscopy. It is supposed to be due on tommorow. This is the very first time I am looking forward to having my period in all my life!! Since my husband also has some issue, my dr wants us to get one IUI without any medication. I have found many articles about the increased pregnancy rate after the laparoscopy on the internet. I hope I will hear a sucess story from y'all and I will be able to give you good news, too. Keep it posted.

I too am waiting for my first cycle after the LAp, it should be here saturday, and if I was right on the date, then we TTC on our ovulating date!! But it also was the first time I woke up with that egg white substance in my skivvies. So that is a good sign, cause they say that is a way to tell you that you are ovulating, and I never had that before the surgery!! Fingers crossed!!

Melissa, I am glad to hear that your laparoscopy worked very well. I have not had my af yet... I am so worried because this provedure might have messed up my cycle. I know I have to be patient, it is pretty hard.

My doc told me that I could have af earlier than usual, due to anasthesia. But I am praying that it doesnt come and intead I get BFP...HOPING I had my lap done right after my period, so we were told not to have intercourse for a week...Well, after a week we did baby dancing like usual. Those days that we BD were my most fertile days, so I am just hoping that I finaly fall pregnant. We've been ttc for a year in a half, and its been stressful...Believe me, I do try to relax, but it doesnt always happen, especially if you have tests and procedures done.

LOTS OF LUCK TO ALL OF YOU....

Karen, to answer your question about IUI, it stands for Interuterine insemination. (AKA Artifical insemination) They wash the man's sperm to get rid of the bad, immobile sperm & then insert it into a catherter directly into the woman's uterus bypassing the cervix, just giving the sperrm a let up. It's cheaper than IVF. IUI is good for CM issues & when the male partner has some sperm issue. My DH has morphology issues, so we've been doing IUI for a few cycles now. HTH!

thanks mega for answering and hope things work out for you ! how long is the recovery time for laporoscopy ? can someone compare it to some kind of pain or feeling ?

Melissa T - February 2

There isnt really pain, for me anyway, I never even filled the script for the pain killers, there is a FLU LIKE ACHEY FEELING FROM THE GAS THEY BLOW YOU UP WITH, but that is really all I had, just a little sore, I was doing laundry 3 days later! I am still hoping that AF doesnt come on saturday, but I was never told about the AF coming early like Cutie said, if that is the case than I really have my hopes up!! AF will probably come after saturday just to make me crazy!! Good Luck all!

Mega - February 2

You're welcome, Karen. Thank you. Good luck to you too. Are you going in soon for a lap, too?

Melissa T - February 2

Okay girls I am getting upset because I am pretty sure that AF is going to come because the cramps are coming on strong, and it is making me very upset.

Mega - February 2

I'm sorry MelissaT, AF always has the worst timing! I hope it's not AF causing your cramps though.

Angie - February 3

I am still waiting for my af. How about you, Melissa T?
Karen, I totally agree with Melissa T. I had two kinds of painkiller prescribed by my dr, but I had to take very few times. My shoulder felt very tense, too. I could not sleep well or for a long time for a couple days because I was not comfortable when I lie on my back. It was more discomfort rather than pain. But I was also doing dishes and cooking on the day after the surgery.

Hey girls! Well AF came and I am so mad , I really thought this one was it,I am gonna have to get the OPK, I havent done that yet, but has anyone who had the LAp experienced a really heavy period , it is my first one since my surgery, I mean I couldnt go to work yesterday cause it was so bad.

Joy - February 7

Hi Melissa: I had a lap done on January 9th and I just got over my first period. It was really heavy for the first 3 days, but I really did not have a lot of cramps. It lasted a little longer though.

I had a lap done. I had no problems. They results they found helped me out though. I had very bad endo and from where I had had a cyst removed years prior, I had scar tissue that had caused my rt ovary to fold in half. Was glad I had it done.
There is very little pain. They go in through your bellybutton, If I remember correctly. If Dr recommends, I would do it.
