haleywonder - November 1

i am really hoping i can get some clarity here on this board. it seems like the collective experiences of the various women on these boards give more peace of mind than a visit to the doctor! i am grateful to those who have responded to my previous posts in other forums.

let me give a bit of background information here. i have been trying to lengthen my luteal phase this past cycle by taking 100mg of b6 every day, along with vitex (chaste tree) tincture. my cycle has always been somewhat short (25 days) and that's what regular is for me, but for almost the past year it has been 23 days which is why i started the b6 and vitex.

the first day of my last period was october 4th. if i were to have continued with my 23-day cycle, i should have started this cycle on october 27th. if the b6 and vitex were lengthening my cycle back to 25 days i should have started on the 29th. now that it is the first of november, i have yet to start my period. i had what could have been implantation bleeding (light pink & brown discharge) which continued for 4 days starting october 22nd. my boyfriend and i had sex on the 12th and the 27th. all pregnancy tests i've taken have come up negative, including the one from a doctor visit on the 29th, and a hpt i took this morning.

the same doctor diagnosed me with bacterial vaginosis (BV) on october 15th and prescribed metrogel. because i thought i could possibly be pregnant (due to the relations i had on the 12th), i didn't use the prescription out of fear of the chemical effect the drugs could have on a developing fetus. when i went for the pregnancy test, she said i'd made the right decision, as she advises pregnant women to wait until the 1st trimester is over before using metrogel.

i have had a cramping sensation in my lower back for the past week or so, along with occasional pain in my pelvic region (similar to menstrual cramps, though sometimes more sharp). i have also had a general feeling of just being out of it, especially in the evening and morning. breast soreness comes and goes, along with my appetite. i have read on other boards on the subject of early pregnancy that sometimes it can take as much as a month or two after a missed period for a positive result in some cases, and it seems from the research i've done that the symptoms of early pregnancy & ectopic pregnancy are very similar.

i guess i'm looking for some hope from the experiences of others who can relate to my current situation. i'm 31 and this is my first (hopefully!!!).
