Ciara, congrats. I keep meaning to look into acupuncture, but its so darn expensive in New York, and my insurance doesnt cover alternative medicine. Would it make you uncomfortable if I asked you where you live and how much did each session cost you. In NY its on the average of $50. Thanks.

Hi Ciara ...... Thanks!!!! I'm on precribed prenatal vits and with an extra doses of Iron, Folic acid and Calcium. This is our 2nd pregnancy but 1st baby. Have you see your doc for u/s yet? By the way ... Sounds like ...... I took similar herbs too those that you had written on your previous post. And Yes! It taste horrible and I had to force myself to drink it too but it was all well worth it : ) ****Ladies who are ttc with accupunture/herbs, it's helps to get things check before you start so that the accupunturist tailor to your needs. Good luck!

thanks for your wishes, mommy2josh! Sann that drink was so vile, it just smelt and tasted so bad, i didnt think it would work but it did! i go for my first scan on 5th december so once that is ok i can relax a bit.

Ciara ... Oh yes! I know the smell and taste ..... alright! Do you plan on carrying on with the herbs during pregnancy? Well ... I haven't seen my tcm physician for a while cos I've been on progesterone supportarties up till 1 1/2 weeks ago. I was told (by my girlfriends who were on herbs during their whole pregnancy) herbs can help maintain a healthy pregnancy/healthy baby so I thinking of it. Keep me posted with your progress : )

I started acupuncture without herbs when I started injectibles. I did 2 rounds of injectibles w/acupuncture that both resulted in BFNs. I decided to move to IVF but needed surgery for some fibroids. I kept up with the acupuncture every week. Right before my surgery, I got a BFP. I had been trying for 2 years and 2 months, and the acupuncture was the only thing I was doing differently at the time. I am a big believer!! Good luck to all of you.

Hi Ann - congratulations - how far along are you? it's so great that there other positive stories out there, i hope it inspires other ladies to try TCM. Sann - my chinese dr said not to take anything more and only to come back for accupuncture if i get any pains or for morning sickness. i am just taking vitamins for now - though i will take raspberry leaf tea again in the third trimester as that is supposed to be a great help with delivery. did your practioner recommend anything to you?

Ann1 - November 27

ciara, I am 27 weeks now. I can't believe I will get bigger than this...how far along are you now? Feeling good?

SANN - December 1

Hi Ciara ... I haven't seen my Tcm physician yet but I recall some time back she did say something about taking herbs in the 3rd trimester to help with delivery. Will update you after I see her. How are you doing? I just pass the halfway mark ... am 20weeks 2days today : ) I had Level 2 U/S ... my baby girl is doing fine. Good luck on your appt on the 5th, keep me updated : ) Ann1 --- Congrats!!! Wow! 27 weeks along, I sure others will be encourage by your success. Take care.

Hi girls, glad to hear you are doing so well. Ann, I am only 6 weeks along at the moment, i go in for my first scan on tuesday 5th Dec - so am nervous and praying that everything goes well on that date. I am not suffering too bad at the moment though i do feel quite nauseous most of the day - though not to the point of feeling sick - just a general loss of appetite. if i'm still feeling like this next week i may go back and see if accupuncture can help at all. and of course i feel quite sleepy all the time though that could just be my general laziness!! Sann - that's a really good idea to get herbs to prepare for labour - this is my first so i'm really scared of what happens at the birth itself.

Ciara, that is great you are moving along. You will get to see the heartbeat soon! I never got sick--just had nausea. Eating soda crackers and graham crackers and drinking Sprite really helped me when the nausea started coming on.

SANN - December 7

Hi Ciara : ) How did your first appt? I totally know what your concerns are ... this is my first too : ) The nausea ... I still get them when I brush my teeth and I still have a sour taste in my mouth.

Hi Ciara,
How did your scan go?
I've been doing acupuncture now for 3 weeks and just got my af. I've been off the pill since mid July and have not had an af since and the blood results showed that some of my hormone levels were elevated. I decided to do acup whilst awaiting my RE appointment. I really think it's the acupuncture that's helped me. My acupuncturist wanted to wait till I got my af to start herbs so hopefully this will help me also.

SANN - December 12

Ciara ... thinking of you, wondering how did your first appt go?

ciara - December 12

Hello! have not had internet access for a while so could not check the site. thank you so much for asking! my scan went well - i saw a little blob with a heartbeat and everything looks normal so far. my next scan will be in middle of January. Am really relieved but the worrying never stops! how are you feeling Sann? thats great news about the AF Shani, i'm sure the acup. is getting all your energy flows realigned. Do you feel that it has made a difference to your general well being? So far i have felt quite nauseous all day every day - though not been sick yet, but have really lost my appetite and generally feeling tired as well.

Hi Ladies!

I am having my first consulation with an acupunturist tomorrow. I am actually excited. :-) He told me - with all humility - "I have quite a few babies under my belt." He mostly does acup prior to IVF but he also treats a host of ailments.
I will let you know what he prescribes.
