oh I am so sorry to hear that j_ttc_1year. But I am glad your RE is going to do a cycle immediately. Hope this is the one. I have made it to the shared risk program and my ivf cyle starts mid nov. So the retrival and trasfer would be around dec 1st week. Baby dust to all!

handysnack - October 28th, 2009 9:46 PM

j_ttc...sorry about your bfn...i know how disappointing it is. better luck this time :) cleveland, yes, that's the same protocol i was on, but we added menapur every other morning with a day 5 transfer. just filled out the paperwork for open enrollment to change insurance companies, so with any luck, we'll do our next cycle in january! lots of baby dust to everyone getting ready to do a cycle soon!

My af started this morning. So I'll be on bc pills starting today till day 21. The major change to my next protocol is there is no Lupron. My RE believes that I responded poorly last time, because I was over suppressed. And he said that they will do the ER next time when the follicles are around 14mm. They waited for the follicles to reach 18mm the last time. And my follistim has been increased from 300 to 375. My retrieval will also be on the first week of December. Cleveland rocks and RosePearl.. I wish you both the best of luck. . please post updates on your cycles.

Handysnack .. . How many times have you tried ivf before ? Do you have babies from any of those cycles ?

j_ttc_1year - October 29th, 2009 2:50 PM

Handysnack: Please ignore my question .. You have already answered this question. . Iam sorry for asking it again .. I wish you good luck !!

My second ivf attempt just failed... I feel so sad.. I was on the antagonist protocol, had one 7 celled embryo to transfer on day 4. I look forward to the saddest christmas of my life. .. Will I ever have a baby ? Everybody around me is happy .. I am finding it hard to fake happiness anymore .. I have failed my husband and his family ..

JennaCat: How was your cycle after your first unsuccessful ivf cycle ? Was it normal or longer than usual ? Thanks !

What happened to everyone from this board??

Cleveland Rocks - May 18th, 2010 3:24 PM

Hi Kdella2... well, since you asked, here's my update:
my husband and I went through a fresh cycle for IVF in Aug/Sept. Two days before retrieval, I only had two follicles so they cancelled us! We had to do IUI instead, so it was a terrible disappointment and of course that didn't work. We plowed ahead and began another fresh cycle for IVF in November and transferred two embryos on Thanksgiving day. Two weeks later... BFN.
Three months later... March 2010, we got pregnant ON OUR OWN with no interventions whatsoever. Of course, euphoria. Then, last Monday, we went in to the OB for the eight week ultrasound.... no heartbeat. Crushing news. D and C early the next morning at the hospital. It's been a tough week for me, as my body was pregnant and then suddenly, not, so HCG, progesterone levels, etc etc all came crashing down at once. My mind is struggling with the hope we felt at conceiving on our own, and now the sadness that we lost the pregnancy and -- will we be able to do it again on our own? How soon? Or never? Or back to IVF? It's just a lot to handle after two years of fertility treatments.
I stopped posting last year because I never seemed to have any good news to share, plus there were very few girls who were going through IVF at that time.

Clevland I am so sorry you haveen thrugh so much. As for myself I have too. I just found out on Friday after the dreaded 2ww that I also got a BFN. We have been through such a long journey to even get to find 1 good embryo, let alone 2 to put back (we do PGD bc I have a chromosome disorder) and we dont even get pregnant. Its a terrible feeling and I dont even know where to turn from here. I guess back to the natural route for us too. Its terrible. It seems like it is never going to happen, but I guess we have to keep the faith and move forward. Hang in there.

Jenna cat-I can't believe your baby is 4 months already, my guys just tured 18 months, my how time flies! HOPE glad you made it into the 2nd trimester and had a successful IVF (you had a loss or neg IVF at one point right?) HI guys it's been a long time since I posted. I am now 37, have PCOS, recurrent m/c and 2 older kids, and over 3 years of failed tretments, prior to IVF in 2008, had beautiful twin boys 2/6/09 after a hellish pregnancy with one problem after another and ended up on bed rest for 26 weeks, delivering at 36 weeks as my preeclampsia just got way too bad. (That cycle we had a 26 fert eggs, and only 6 made it to blastocyst stage, implanted 2, froze the rest (later to find out that only 1 of the 4 frozen was genetically normal). WE decided to do another round IVF,again this spring, and out of 12 fert eggs, the PGD showed 3 "normal" embies, 1 stopped growing day 4, had the other 2 put back, 1 made it!! Now I'm 22 w 3 days, and on pins & needles as at 20 w 5 d had a bleeding episode, the clot is stable at 8 x 5 x 6 cm, but so worried about the weeks to come. I can't work now, on bed rest again, pray that everything still holds stable enough to get to my 3rd trimester!!!
I am praying for you all to have BFP's and good stim cycles. In the end, never give up, go with your heart and gut!!! I'm glad you are all back online, I missed you all]
