Treysmommy, Here is info on chem. pg's: What is a chemical pregnancy?

A chemical pregnancy is the clinical term used for a very early miscarriage. In many cases, the positive pregnancy test was achieved before the woman's period was due but a miscarrige occured before a heartbeat was able to be seen on an ultrasound.

With the ultra sensitive pregnancy tests on the market today, it is easier than ever to get a positive result 3 or 4 days before your period is due. It is wonderful for those who NEED to know, but does have it's down side. Early testing shows chemical pregnancies which would not have been detected had the woman waited for her period to arrive.

Chemical pregnancies are unfortunately very common. 50 to 60% of first pregnancies end in miscarriage very early in pregnancy. Most occur without the woman even knowing that she was pregnant.

What Causes a Chemical Pregnancy

Most chemical pregnancies are due to chromosomal problems in the developing fetus. Other possible causes are inadequate uterine lining, uterine abnormalities both congenital or acquired like fibroids, low hormone levels, luteal phase defect or certain infections.
How can I Prevent Chemical Pregnancies

Most chemical pregnancies can not be prevented. If you have recurring chemical pregnancies, your doctor should be able to investigate and help you formulate a treatment which is best for you. Potential treatments include vitamin B6 (at least 50mg a day), progesterone cream, and baby asprin. Be sure to discuss potential treatments with your doctor.

If infection is the cause, antibiotics prescribed by your Doctor can help.
AND here is some info on the color of cm: Generally mucus should be white/pale yellow or clear and should not smell offensive. If it is darker yellow or green, smells bad, and / or itches - it could be a sign of thrush or yeast (candida) infection so get it checked out. If you suffer form recurrent yeast infections you may need to llok at alternative remedies or lifestyle changes to nip it in the bud. Hope this helps ya out!

THANKS WANNABE... WELL, THE CM IS YELLOW IN COLOR BUT I DOESN'T HAVE A SMELL TO IT. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS FERTILE CM OR NOT. I HOPE IT IS.... BUT ITS LIKE MY O IS SO OFF TRACK THIS MONTH AND BACKWARDS OR SOMETHING. OH WELL, THANKS AGAIN. THAT WAS VERY HELPFUL INFORMATION ; )

Treysmommy, I chemical pregnancy is where your mind tricks your body into thinking its pregnant. You will even got BFP's for a few days and miss a period. Its like a false pregnancy. I had one back in March. I tested positive on two tests and was 2 days late for my period and then a weeks later started bleeding. Went to the doctor and got a negative test result, did an ultrasound and nothing was there, no sac or anything but i never passed anything so she told me I had a chemical pregnancy. Well, I'm expecting a friend either Tues. or Wed. Hope she doesn't show her ugly face. Bought a pg test today but waiting until I actually miss. I hope I get some response in this thread. The last one i was in there were so many people in there I never got my questions answered. haha Jamie

wannabeamom - June 10

Jamie there are a lot of girls in this thread. Hopefully your questions will get answered.Just be persistant. We all are. Do you have AF symptoms? GL

jldaniels - June 10

sorry I meant aunt flow not a friend. Don't ask where I got that from because at this point she is no friend of mine. Wannabemom, I don't really know. My boobs are very sore but not reallly swollen(although they were until 2 dys ago), i've had a metallic taste in my mouth on and off for about a week now, and i've been weepy (although that could be af symptom). I don't really have any af symptoms as far a bloating and all goes but i'm very dry and I think if i were pregnant i should be having more cm by now but i don't know. I asked some of the people who got BFP's on the last thread what there cm was like during the two week wait but never got a response. Maybe the question was too personal although tmi doesn't exist in these things. haha jamie

wannabeamom - June 10

Jamie, I know that when you're pg you produce more cm. I am not sure how doon it starts. But I would think you would have cm in the 2ww.

bl - June 10

Well i hope this isn't tmi, but you asked! The week following o everything is pretty dry, then the week before af things get a little more... how should i say this...wet. When i got preg with my son i had a lot of cm. I don't know if everyone is the same? Checking all these fertility signs is a full time job!

bl - June 10

just curious, what is 2ww

jldaniels - June 10

2ww is the time between after O and before af. you normally ovulate 14 days before af comes so they call it that because you have a two week waiting period before you know about BFP or BFN.

bl - June 10

That makes sense, Thanks.
