MOLLIE, I don't know if it'll be a niece or a nephew; my brother and sis-in-law are not finding out. My sis-in-law desperately wants to know, but my brother does not. I agree 100% with my brother; you already know you're pregnant, so why find out the sex? There is no reason anyone HAS to know. Besides, there are so few wonderful surprises in life... why not let this be one of those? I personally think it takes all the fun out of knowing. Especially when people also name the child before it's born (actually, that's against the Jewish religion to announce the name). If everyone already knows what you're having and what you name it, it's like, "Oh, so-and-so is here." It's anti-climactic, I think. Sorry for the long-winded answer to your very short question!!!! |

I think the surprise is fun too but my husband would be able to tell on the ultrasound so it wouldn't be a surprise for him. I guess I will wait and see how I feel when I do get pregnant. |

Hi there. I'm new at this and seem to always pick the threads that no one visits. So I'll try this one! MollieJo ... you had mentioned you're taking progesterone. When did your doctor figure out you needed it? How long have you been trying to conceive? I'm just curious because I recently had IUI and am currently on Day 24 but spotted every other day for a week after the IUI. The nurse tells me not to worry as many things could be causing it but I'm thinking: Why wouldn't they monitor this right from the get go? Meds are expensive so you want to get it right ASAP! Anyway, I spewed a bunch there ... hopefully you or someone else has some insight into this. Thanks! I've been checking these posts for a week now and it's been very comforting knowing other people are supportive of each other in this situation. |

Ooooh, ANDREA! Good luck!! Keep us updated. Wishing you a BFP!! My DH & I went to the urologist today to start getting him checked out... just to see if everything's OK with him before we move on to me. The dr. asked rather intimate questions (basically like how we've gone about TTC and about DH's, well, "fluid" - unbelievable. I know we're adults, but I was laughing so hard inside. Anyway, he wrote an Rx for an SA but told us to wait until after we've tried this month, will be late next week. Hopefully we'll end up with a BFP and he won't need to "make love to a cup" and have it tested :) |

TB, I have been on clomid for 2mos and am starting my 3rd cycle. I had a progesterone level drawn at cd21 of last the last cycle. It is was very low so my doctor prescribed progesterone to start with this cycle. I had the level drawn b/c with my first cycle of clomid I got a pos opk on cd16 then AF on cd25 which is a very short luteal phase. I also had flat temps my second cycle. (Progesterone is what makes the temps go up)...I hope this cycle works for you! |
