Hi Ladies, I've just started accupuncture...and will be doing IVF next month. Reading a bunch of stuff on the internet does make this sound promising...but hearing it works from people you speak to first hand makes it easier for you to believe. I asked my RE and he said to go for it...it won't hurt. He also said he has many ladies he treats for infertility that "swear by it"...on that note..I have now done 4 sessions. I am on some natural pills and will be on some powdered herbs that I'll have to mix with warm water. I don't know what the heck it is, but I trust this women who is doing the accupucture. She speaks little english (Straight from China)..but she knows what I'm going through and is trying to treat it. I guess time will tell, to see if this works or not. Isa are you from T.O. I am. Ann1 congratulations, when did you find out you were prego...fantastic! All the best ladies!

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind, I was lurking on your post here. I'm almost 36 and have been doing acupuncture for just over 2 months now. I was on Clomid before, and didn't want to mix that with the herbs. I stopped Clomid 2 cycles ago, so now I feel safe taking the herbs that my acupuncturist recommends. Anyone else given different herbs depending on the cycle day? I'm on 4 types that switch depending whether I'm O-ing or have af etc. etc. Anyway, I may have to do IVF, but of course I hope I don't. I'm on a 3 month waiting list just to get the ball rolling for it, and I'm really hoping that I get pg in the meantime. Unfortunately the last time I went for acupuncture, he put a needle near my ankle. I've had really annoying pains that feel like a knife in that spot this whole week (when I move a certain way), he said that was rare and it would go away. I sure hope so! Anyone have anything like that? If you don't mind, I might just lurk around in here now & again for tips and advice...thanks in advance, and best of luck to you all to get that elusive bfp!

Hey Natasha I have yet to have my first accup. with this guy for fertility but a few years ago I tried it for a different reason and my muscles flipped out when she put a needle or 2 in my left leg. She took them out got my leg relaxed and then tried again and my muscles all tightened up again and so she stopped and I havent tried it since so I am a little worried. He didnt ask me what cd I was on. He just did a consult on "general health" for about 1 1/2 hours. He knew I was sent by my RE and we got into all the stuff I"d done already and what my body reacted like on the different fert. meds etc and he checked my pulses in my wrists, urine and saliva tests for bacterias, protein, acid levels etc, checked my tongue and asked tons of questions. From that he decided on what herbs to give me and who knows if they will work but I sure hope so. Both are to help build my lining and one is for helping me with my circulation and to help warm me up (I"m always cold) and the other is to help with my natural hormone production . Natasha what has the accupunturist been treating you for ? This is all so new to me re fertility but its supposed to really help ivf patients.

Here is another great site for accupuncture info I just ran across. I wish I was in California to go see her, she sounds amazing. There are no dashes or hyphens if they show up: www.ancasira.com/index.html
