Christy- I forgot to mention the funcky tast sort of metalicy- is a good sign . It means theres progesterone in your system-that's good!

Welcome Liz! Did you mean your prog. level is at 8 or .8? Are you on supps for that? What is your underlying problem if you have one? Just curious!!
And has anyone heard about taking a baby aspririn a day either before or after preg.??

Toni- my progesterone level went from 1.2 preovulation to .8 on surge day. I am a not on any progesterone. Only Clomid 100 mg for 5 days. No trigger or post iui meds. At ovulation time the estrogen and LH go up and the progesterone goes down. If you become pregnant the progesterone goes up to support the pregnancy.

Toni- my underlying problem is that I had one ovary removed last year due to ovarian torsion- emergency surgury and my remaining ovary has a dermoid cyst on it. So I nedd to get prego in case with only one ovary and I also don't ovulate regularly on my own. I have been ovulating on Clomid but so far no positive prenancy. I have fingers and toes crossed for all the ladies in waiting. Liz-it seems like we have lots of things in common. This will be my 3rd IUI and I too don't ovulate on my own either. It's good to know that I'm not alone. I take HCG in the second part of my cycle (after IUI), as well as progesterone. I should know this, but with all the meds, I don't really know why I take the HCG after the initial trigger. Any ideas?

Beth, I read someplace that one of the ways to increase progesterone levels (if it is thought that you progesterone levels are low or have PCO) is to do an hCG trigger shot, then give two more shots of hCG. hCG is supposed to stimulate the corpeus luteum to produce more progesterone (if I am not mistaken). Another method is to go on progesterone supplements.

Has anybody gotten pregnant on 100mg Clomid, hCG trigger shot, IUI and progesterone suppositories?

Liz- are they testing your prog. level on day 20? You have to have the right levels to sustain it and not everyone can do that on their own. I am on 3 prog. supps a day after my IUI. Just to be on the safe side.

Liz - October 12

Toni- They tested my progesterone levels 7 days post iui my first iui and it was fine so iui #2 and iui#3 they did not ask me to test 7 days post iui( day 20ish)

I was told that the reason for the 2 HCG shots after IUI is to support implantation.

Hi girls! Toni, I'm 32. i know it doesn't seem old but i used to get preg at the drop of a hat. I have a 10 and 5 yr old which we conceived naturally on the first attempt! Since then I can't seem to get pregnant. We started trying June 2003. I got preg after 7 months of trying bu m/c at 8 wks. Then tried for 22 more cycles and got preg again finally but that too ended at 5 wks. Sob Sob. Now we were hoping iui would speed things along but nothing yet. I was on the meds alone for a few cycles before trying iui....nothing... I just noticed that after 30 my body changed. My eggs being old would be my only explanation as to why i can't get preg and when i do i m/c. Maybe i'm obsessing too much and just being stupid. It just really breaks my heart when my freind and i started trying at the same time and she now has an 18 mo old and is thinking of another already. My son sadly said to me " mommy, how come she gets another baby and we don't have one yet. My son has no idea about the fertility issues. He only knows dad and I would "like" another one. I think he is a little smarter than what i give him credit for. Not having any significant symptoms..surprise there...mild breast tenderness but not unusual for me a week before af due. Strange taste in my mouth has disappeared. I am 7dp iui. Well I guess it's after midnight so when i wake up i'll be 8dp iui. Anyone have any good symptoms yet? Liz, Lee, Amy and Beth, thinking of you guys too! Sweet baby dreams!

Christy - October 12

Mel, I'm sorry I left you name out! Sweet baby dreams to you too!....

Lee - October 12

Feeling much more grounded today as Sunday approaches. Breasts are less tender, though M Ts are still prominent. Knowing me, this is the time to start protecting myself. It won't be long now, so I am going to try to stay very busy. Thinking of all of you.

Toni - October 12

Hi! Christy, I hope your eggs aren't old! What does that say about mine? :) I don't know if everyone eggs age differently. I too had NO problems conceiving my other two kids. But that was 8 years ago and a different husband! When are you testing? Are you gonna be good and wait till 14? Liz, glad your prog levels are good. Mine were not with my other two preg. Baby dust to all, it won't be much longer before one of us finds out something!!!!!

Toni - October 13

Hey guys where are ya?

Beth - October 13

Mel and A, thanks for the info. on my HCG shots. My E2 level was 478 today after being 246 on Monday. I have lots of follicles (10) which range from 10mm to 14 mm. I wish they were larger, since this is day 11 of my cycle, but RE says to take a smaller amt. of follistem tonight and more bloodwork and US tomorrow. They say there are too many follicles, but the way I think about it is, the more follicles, the better my chances of an egg fertilizing! Last cycle I had 5 follicles and no fertilization, so I'm not so worried about multiples. Althought, I'd be happy with one, two, three...Happy? I'd be beside myself! Well, I'm thinking happy baby thoughts for everyone! Keep me posted!!

Christy - October 13

Wow Beth 10 follicles! That's great, there should be at least some good ones in there! Good luck! Toni, I didn't mean to imply that your eggs are old. I just think mine are. Do you think starting my menses at an early age would wear my body out?(started right after i turned 11) Again I obsessing and thinking too much. I'm sure i will crack and test this weekend. I can't stand it. I have had pms cramping all day today. I hope thats not a bad sign. I'm 8dpo and not supposed to start until next wed. I have never started early but i heard pms is actually 7-10 days before the onset of your period. Breasts still a little tender but nothing to get too excited about. Any symptoms for you? I wonder why my re never checks my progesterone? When are you going to test? Lee, Good luck Sunday. We all need positives this month! Liz and Amy, how are you guys feeling? Hope everyone is holding up during the 2ww. I will dream of baby dust for all of you tonight. Good night...
