On the topic of sperm counts did anyone's RE explain what the value difference between pre swimup and post swim up ment and what values are good/normal? We just got a sheet with the numbers and no explination...

Thanks everyone for your kind words and support. Having this site to chat on is such a wonderful thing! Ashley, you were asking what our symptoms were, and for me, they were like the ones you get with AF but just a little stonger and longer cramping than I would normally get (however, it's really hard to tell because the drugs also made me bloat and cramp even before the IUI). The 2nd week of waiting is sure the hardest. Good luck to you! Keep us posted!

Stacey - July 11th, 2005 1:48 PM

I am doing the waiting game!! AF is suppost to be here tomorrw, hopefully she doesn't show up!! I have not taken a hpt yet. I am almost affraid to!! I have heard that so many women get a false positive. I just don't want to get my hopes up. I have had a lot of cramps, almost like AF cramps, and still the yellowish discharge. Is this a sign of pregnancy??? My husband had a 20 million sperm count with 85% mobility, and the Dr. said the was fine, anything under ten was low. I think that the mobility is what you want higher. CONGRATS KATHY!!! I am so happy for you!! You WILL be a wonderful mother!!! Keep us posted on your adventures!! Baby dust to ALL!!

Ashley - July 11th, 2005 2:02 PM

Thanks Kathy and Beth! I really have not had any symptoms at all....no cramping or sore breasts. I am suppose to get AF on Wednesday. I have not tested yet. I don't think it worked, but I guess there is still a little hope. We are going to take off next month and really pray about IVF. My RE thinks we should move on to IVF next cycle. I was really hoping this IUI would work so that we would not even have to make that decision.

Kathy - July 11th, 2005 2:57 PM

Thanks Stacey! Now it's a waiting game. I can't wait for the 4th-5th week to come. They'll do an ultrasound and we'll get to see how many and if there's a heartbeat. I really hope we have a strong heartbeat or two. I'll feel much better once we reach that point. I looked at my chart on this IUI & I had lots of discharge between my 11 & 13 day after the IUI. I don't know what exactly it means but lets hope it means somethings good! You have your test next Monday don't you (18th)?

Stacey - July 11th, 2005 4:30 PM

Kathy,
I've had the discharge since the 4 day after IUI and still currently have it. It's been 11 days since my IUI. I go take a pt at the doctor's office on the 16, no sooner. They say that clomid may give a negative on the test, so don't test until 15 days after IUI procedure...making sure that it's completely out of your system. Has anyone heard that? I also have had sore breast and cramps, but I get them before AF visits...so I am not sure what to think. Maybe I am thinking too much into....who knows!!

Beth - July 11th, 2005 5:21 PM

Stacey,
I haven't heard anything about clomid giving you a negative...I am going to wait until 14 days after IUI only because I had an hcg injection so I don't want a false positive. 7 more days, this waiting is terrible. I'm SUPER bloated but no other symptoms but I guess it's still really early. Baby dust to all

Kathy - July 11th, 2005 5:58 PM

Stacey - I think the meds can effect the outcome on a HPT too. However, you did take the HCG didn't you? Which makes you ovulate (36 hrs later). I believe every woman is the same in this, we ovulate 14 days before AF comes. This is why it's hard to indicate when we ovulate when we're irregular because we have to count back from AF. If it's more than 14 days after your IUI and AF hasn't shown up by day 15, I would suspect it's highly possible for a positive reading even on the HPT. I waited until the 16th day after IUI to do my HPT. Just for the record, I'm 3wks today and my BB still hurt and I still cramp. I'm so excited for you and hope to hear some good news in a few days!!! Best wishes Stacey!!!!

Kathy - July 11th, 2005 6:07 PM

Stacey, I just re-read what I wrote & I hope it all made sense.

Kathy - July 11th, 2005 7:30 PM

Ashley - I'll say a prayer for you that AF doesn't show up! I know IVF is a huge step (especially since most Ins. don't cover). Hopefully the IUI will be enough. Good luck! Baby dust to everyone!!!!!!!

Annie - July 12th, 2005 4:24 PM

Anyone ever experienced sore breasts only few days after IUI, under natural cycle (unmedicated) ?

Stacey - July 12th, 2005 4:57 PM

Thanks Beth for that info….I have yet to take the HCG injections. I ovulated on the 16 day on my own. It’s day 28 and yet no AF. If it’s true what Kathy said, AF comes the 14 day after you ovulate…then I have to wait till the 30 day. I am normally a 28 day cycle. A 30 day cycle would leave me with AF visiting on Thursday and not today!! Thanks Kathy for the knowledge!! Has anyone done two IUI is one month? I asked my Dr. and he said that I could start that next month, but he said it doesn’t help the statistics of getting pregnant…they stay the same!! Has anyone heard of that? It doesn’t seem the chances would stay the same; it seems as if it would raise your chances!! Baby dust to ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Kathy! I am still holding on to a little hope, but I feel AF coming and I have tested negative. I was able to get all my tears out last night with my husband. He just held my hand and prayed.....I feel much better today and I am actually excited about taking off next month....I can exercise and have a clear mind:-)

Stacey, With my doctor if your BBT does not go up by .5 the morning after your first IUI, you can go in for a 2nd IUI that day if you choose. If your BBT has already gone up, then a 2nd IUI is too late and probably a waste of money as you have already ovulated. I occasionally did try 2nd IUIs depending on my BBT. Last year I got pregnant in a cycle with 2 IUIs the same month, but I m/c at 6 weeks. Right now, I am 6 weeks pregnant, and again it happened on a cycle where I had 2 IUIs.

Tracy - July 13th, 2005 8:02 AM

MJ - I haven't seen anything from you lately. Did you have the 2nd IUI done yet? Just wondering how you are making out with donor.

this chat room seems to be for only 4 maybe 5 people. I came to this room for support and i was totally ignored as well as others who have posted a question or concern once or twice. So people please try to be more supportive of the other people who come to this room.
