hey girls hope that you find this i went ahead and started it for anyone who is using a sperm donor that way they will not feel that there is noone doing it except them. i know that was how i felt when i first started posting on this site so maybe there will be some more using donors that may want to join in. dh and i have been ttc for years and foind out that his sperm dont swim good so he decided that we should use a donor. this month will be my 2nd iui and i am also taking clomid 50mg days 3-7 anyone who wants may join in.

Hey Jamie, thanks for starting the new thread. I wonder if anyone else will join. I know that it can't be any easy thing to talk about for some women, but for me and my husband, we have come to terms with it. Now we are super excited to have a baby!

Hey gals... I found you! Good idea with the new thread. I am using donor sperm because I am doing this wonderful adventure on my own. My follie was 20mm today... yahoo! I will have my hCG trigger tonight at 10:30pm, then will have my IUI on Thursday morning at 10:30. I am so excited! This is cycle number 4 and I think this one is THE one!

OMG Tawnya! I am doing my trigger tonight as well and IUI on Thursday morning between 9-9:30. How crazy is this??? The funniest part is that my birthday is on Thursday. HE HE HE.... Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday dear......... LOL! I had 4 follies where 2 were 19mm, 1 was 17 mm and the other was 15 mm. I am super excited about it. I decided that to switch things up this time I am going to take 2 vacation days and take it easy instead of coming back to work. I'm gonna go straight home and put my legs up all day long.

Whynot, I just responded on the other thread! Funny! My procedure will be at 10:30am. It is all so exciting. It's cool to think of someone else going through the same thing at the same time. What a great birthday present for you - 3 mature follies!!!! I only have one this cycle, but she's a good one ; ). I have PCOS and the doctor is happy if I get one. I had 3 last cycle - I think my right ovary tends to produce more follies than my left - that has been the trend anyway. Well, we will definitely have to support each other through the dreaded 2WW. SMILES!

Hi Ladies,
There are more of us out there than you think. I am 42. My dh was diagnosed with a zero count 15 years ago. It took him this long to get his head around this and now I am using a donor. However, my prolactin levels are too high. We tried on IUI/TDI in April, didn't work. Have been on meds to bring prolactin down but so far no success, it is at 72 and needs to come down below 30. I am hoping to try again in Sept.

Welcome mmelo! That is great that DH finally got around to coming to terms with his condition. It also took mine some time to wrap his head around it. He tested for a zero sperm count about 4 years ago. We just started IUI's and this is my 3rd one. Did you find it hard to find a donor?

Hi again,
Well, I use the phrase "came to terms" loosely. I am 42, I couldn't wait any longer so I basically made the decision for him. The clinic I attend is in Canada, they work with 2 donor banks, I just chose the donor that was most like my husband. That made it easier for me. If I can get past my own infertility issues now it would be good.

Me too! I have a luteal phase defect and they are working on correcting that. Oh, I think that I forgot to say that after I do my trigger shot tonight and IUI on Thursday, I am doing another trigger shot on Monday. Then, next Thursday I will have b/w done. See Jamie, my dr. heard me talking to you about not running any tests on me. I was so happy that he is really starting to take a more aggressive approach. He came in and said "boy and I getting sick of seeing you". I said "but I like coming to see you". He said "I'm just kidding, I just want to get you pregnant already". I thought that was awesome!

Tawnya, I was just fiddling around and found out that if we get pregnant on Thursday, then the baby will be due on April 27th.

End of April would be a lovely time!!! Anytime would be a lovely time ; )
I am getting excited. This whole process is such an emotional roller coaster eh! What is your second trigger shot for? I will be tested for progesterone on the day of my IUI and may take progesterone suppositories for my luteal phase and hopefully until week 8 of my pregnancy, if my progesterone is low.

The second trigger shot is to help lenghten my luteal phase. The trigger is the same hormone as you produce when you are pregnant, so I think the more the merrier!!

Hey gals! Whynot... are you getting excited? I am! I couldn't believe how eager I was to take my trigger shot! It's funny because the first time I was terrified, now it's like nothing at all. Just think, by tomorrow at this time, we will both be waiting to see if that little soul is ready to join us. Can't wait. Take Care!

Just reading your post gave me chills. It would be such a blessing if it worked for both of us!! I had a disaster of a time with my trigger shot lastnight. First I couldn't get all of the liquid into the needle. So I kept trying and trying. But the time I finally got it all in, the needle was dull and wouldn't puncture my butt! I was crying and crying so hard and DH was trying to help, but I kept yelling at him. Then I remembered that the nurse gave me a shorter needle if I wanted to do it in my leg. I switched needles and did it. Boy was it exhausting!!!! Never again will I do it in the leg! I can't walk today because my muscle hurts soooo bad. I know the second trigger will be better because this time they gave me a needle already filled.

I am so sorry you had so much difficulty with your shot... was it Ovidrel? Mine comes pre-filled, and I can either put it in my leg (top of thigh) or belly. I have always put it in my thigh, but luckily, it has never hurt me. It is hard being away from home right now... I am just trying to fill the day until tomorrow. I will catch the bus back home at 4:30 tomorrow afternoon - can't wait. Hope everyone is happy and hopeful! - T
