Welcome dani3!! Please join us! HI there lovemy3 - I think you actually can separate the sperm to select the gender. I would not do it - I am not judging anyone that has or would - I do not care what the gender of my children are ...I just want children!!!!!! :o)) Can I get an Amen!!! Did I tell you my sister was having another boy? I told her she needed to try again after this one so she could somewhat even things out. She laughed and said no way!! I think she will though. I go for my u/s on Tues and then sometime this week I will have my IUI. That is about it with me - what is up w/ everyone else?

Thanks for welcoming me angelkitty. I have been ttc for 18 months now. I was dx with a stenotic cervix in Nov. during an attempted HSG. My Re thinks it was caused by a LEEP procedure done 3 years prior. Anyway, I had a laparoscopy done in Dec. during which my RE dilated the cervix and removed any scarring. Everything else was perfect. Just wondering if anyone else had this type of treatment?

angelkitty - February 4

dani - I went through the same thing! When my doc was doing my hsg he had a terrible time getting the tube in. He then dialated my cervix as well. My dh and I have been ttc for going on 19mos now. I just started clomid and will be doing an IUI this week after I get my surge. I think if you have had all of that done you are well on your way to conceiving. Really. The cervix thing was probably what was holding you back. My doc told me that the chances of getting pregnant after the hsg were pretty high especially during the 1st three months. I am excited for you!!!! Where are you in your cycle?

dani3 - February 4

Angelkitty I have short cycles with early ovulation so I've just started my third cycle since the laparoscopy. I'm on cd 3. I have an appt. with my Re on Valentine's Day. She's really great and proactive so I'm looking forward to it.How long ago were you dx?

angelkitty - February 4

In September. I am excited about your appt - one of my favorite things to say is it is good to be moving on and taking action.

Hey ladies - bracing myself, getting crampy and AF seems to be approaching. But I've heard no one gets preg their first IUI. I'm a little concerned though because even on Clomid I only had 1 good follie, my MD is afraid to increase because of my cysts but I'm going to try to convince him to at least go up to 100 mg. Is there any way to know this late (IUI was on 26th) if the one follicle I had actually ruptured? Can he tell when he does the pre-cycle u/s? I read somewhere that my multiple cysts could be unruptured follicles and I'm wondering if I've gone a while without actually ovulating and didn't know it? Hope all is well with everyone.

Hey everyone. I'm so glad I found this thread. You all seem so supportive. I'm hoping I'll become one of the gang:) I'm counting days until my RE appt. on the 14th to see what our next step is......so many ups and downs but you all know that. Hope everyone is doing well!

angelkitty - February 5

dani3 - I know exactly how you feel! I felt so alone in all of this until I found this thread. These ladies are awesome!! The most supportive group in the world. You end up feeling like you have found a ton of new best friends. We are so glad you are here and you already are part of the gang. JB thanks for the amen. Really I just want a baby!! Y'all know what - it is no big secret that my dh and I are Christians - we are very proud of our faith and we do not hide it. We do not push it on anyone else b/c we do not feel that is right. Anyway, my boss is a Christian as well and when I sat down with her to tell her that we were seeking fertility treatments I could tell she did not agree with me on the subject. She did not come right out and say it but I could tell she did not agree with me. I reminded her I would be out of the office some this week and the whole conversation came up again and she was a little more vocal about her opinions. I made the statement that I believed God's hand would be on our IUI - she disagreed. This concerned me so I called my church and the secretary at the church I first attended when I became a Christian and I spoke with the secretary/bookkeeper. We are pretty close and I value her opinion on spiritual matters. She flat out told me she thought the medical profession was a blessing from God and to do whatever we felt led to do. She was very supportive. I explained why I was upset (b/c of what my boss had said) and she threw this out there - people get kidney transplants - don't you think God gave us that technology? Her whole point was God has blessed us with medical technology. She also prayed for me when we were getting off of the phone. She is an awesome woman - she is a fireball and very outspoken about her faith!! I look up to her so much. Well anyway I was really relieved to hear her words and get her opinion. I hope the conversation comes up again with my boss - her husband has had a kidney transplant and she has had chemo for cancer and I will point out that technology helped her medical condition. I think my boss is nice and we get along great and she is very understanding about me being out of work from time to time but I do not agree with her at all. Anyway, just needed to vent.

dani3 - February 5

Angelkitty I know exactly what you're saying. I'm a Christian as well and I know some people don't believe you should have any faith in medical technology but I agree with you 100%. I believe wholeheartedly that my RE was meant to treat me.....it is almost as if she is personally invested in making sure we are successful in conceiving. Sometimes I think people don't realize how many beautiful people with not exist without the help of medical treatment. Keep your head up and continue to put your faith in God.....you will never be steered wrong if you ask with your heart.:)

dani3 - February 5

sorry for the word errors....as an educator I should always make sure I proofread :/

angelkitty - February 5

Thanks Dani!! I appreciate your encouragement. I agree with you - I think our doc was the one we were meant to be treated by. He is awesome!!! And you know what - I knew in my heart I was making the right decision before I even spoke to my friend (the secretary from the church) - my dh and I have been in total agreement over this and he is a good Godly man. Again, thanks for your encouragement! And do not worry about any errors - I never notice them. None of us do.
Ladies - how is everyone?

lovemy3 - February 6

Hi everyone, Angelkitty...I totally agree with you and I feel that these procedures are blessings and I do feel the same as the church secretary. What denomination to you go to? I go to the Evangelical Missionary Church. Anyhow, I believe that if you have prayed about this and have peace and are seeking Gods direction you are on the right path. Don't be discouraged. Read my fav Jeremiah 29 11-13. Hope everyone else is good too. JB...how are you doing? Again Dani..so glad you found us. How about Linds...any news from her. I am going to place a call for some of my results...its a week tomorrow. Stay tuned.

lyric - February 6

hi ladies. sorry i have been away. So busy here. I had some friends over for the superbowl and it just kept be busy cleaning and cooking all w/e. WELCOME DANI- you will love it here. ANGEL- I totally agree w/ you. God has blessed these wonderful doctors with the technology and knowledge to help us. Don't let that women discourage you. You are doing the right thing. AS far as choosing a gender of my child. The sex doesn't make a difference and I am not against other ppl choosing the gender of their children. It is a personal choice and everyone is entitled to their own choices. CD19 for me and this wait is killing me. We should be getting the results from DH S/A today. No one would release them. She is supposed to call DH today. FIngers crossed & a prayer ladies that all is fine. ughh.... I go for my b/t on thursday... doc says the numbers should be high b/c of the amount of follies I had.
I am going to try REALLY hard not to test too early. I am a pee-stick-a-holic. ANGEL - how did you apt go today??? & here is the AMEN!!
