Hey Love, don't get frustrated! Just keep in tune with your body and your cycle. What are you doin besides OPK's? Is there a procedure coming up soon? Sorry, I forgot!

Hi ladies, I'm sorry I haven't posted, but I have been reading all your posts and keeping up. Anyway, not much going on, actually nothing, no morning sickness. Damn progesterone shots are horrible though and are hurting worse everyday. I have an ultrasound tomorrow to hear the baby's heart beat...I hope...I am about 6-1/2 weeks now...so maybe it will be there now. I will check in tomorrow afternoon after my visit. Lovemy3, I saw you posted on another thread your concerns over a tilted uterus...I really doubt that since you have already had a few children, this should be "urking" you. It obviously posed no problem before. I bet your hormones just need a kick start to get the ball rolling, you seemed to be fertile myrtle before. Angelkitty, when is your appointment again??? Is it next week?

JB- great follies! Lyric- I was lucky to have IUI coverage last year, lost it this year though. Each actual IUI procedure cost about $425 through my RE. my ins covered that. The other costs involved include the ultrasounds--which again were covered for me- especially if your RE submits them as endo or pcos or something else. which in my case was true, they are checking for cysts or the return of endo (i had a lap in oct). you will have to have a baseline u/s, and probably 4-6 more during the week they are monitoring your follie growth. I usually went in on CD7 for one and then every other day until i was ready to trigger. So you could have anywhere from 4-6 u/s to pay for- mine were $250 a pop, but again, ins covered. labs too- you'll need some bloodwork or urine, don't have costs on that, since ins covered. lastly- is the drugs. if you do clomid- it is only like $30. so no biggie there. NONE of my drugs were covered by ins. you also need a trigger shot like ovidrel, which is about $65. then if you move up to injectables instead of clomid- those can run anywhere from $800-$1000 a cycle. I was lucky and got 2 free cartridges of follistim through my RE as 'samples'. they would have cost me about $600 each. So $425 for actual IUI, $750-$1200 for u/s if not covered, more for labs and then $100 for drugs if clomid and up to $1000 or more for injectables. if we paid ourselves, it would have cost us about $2500.

and yes, i am doing IVF- very excited. started BCP last night. i start lupron shots on 1/22, then have my baseline labs and u/s on 2/1. i'll start stims (follistim and then also menopaur) on 2/4. then ER and transfer the week of 2/12 probably. LINDS- so sorry about the PIO shots, my RE said he uses them to- that they are the best way to get the progesterone. so i do not look forward to those. Dh will have to suffer through giving them too. LINDS or anyone else doing IVF-- any other advice on what to do during this process----like cut out caffeine once starting stims, acupuncture etc. ?? LOVEmythree- hope you get a positive OPK soon!

I guess my own advice would be to do exactly what the doctor said post transfer and post retrieval....I was told to lay down and relax after both for a few days. I took it one step further, with relaxing after the transfer....I stayed in bed for 3-days straight and relaxed, doing only light walking, about a week after that. I wanted to make sure I didn't do anything that would make me look back at the cycle and think I compromised it. So, my advice, do everything your protocol, shot at same time everyday, suppositories, estrogen, etc...stay on a schedule and be mindful of not doing squat! Take advantage of this downtime, read, buy books, have DH rent lots of movies, but don't do anything....I wish you luck Tink.

Let us know what happens there. Tink - how cool that you are getting things all situated for your IVF. Soon you will have a BFP!!!! Lovemy3 I have not gotten a positive OPK yet either- I need to test this afternoon. It sounds like we are side by side on our cycles. And do not worry about 38 Love, one of my dearest friends had her last at 40. JB - you are doing IVF right? Where are you with that - you are in the beginning phases right? Wow - you will be getting that BFP very soon!!! Ladies - remember my motto - it is not a matter of if it is a matter of when!!!!! Hugs to everyone!!!!!!!

Mega from the other thread says "Keep your eye on the prize" I thought that was a smart saying, as going through this can really distract you and consume you...Isn't that saying just perfect?

lovemy3 - January 9

Good afternoon ladies. Linds....so sorry about those yucky shots...how long will you need them for? Good news about the m/s though! JB....I am only using the OPKs, haven't even gone for testing yet..just hangin' on to hope this will work this way for now. Linds...about the tilted uterus..you are probably right about having it all along and it not making a dfference, ya know I just sometimes rack my brain thinking "what could it be". Angelkitty...thats cool we are on same cycles. I'm glad it wasn't snowing when we were driving past you. the fog was incredible and I was a nervous wreck and I'm not kidding!!! Tink, exciting about your upcoming IVF, and its going to be great!! Just like Linds! I am starting to get o pain stronger this afternoon and am getting ewcm too, my surge line is darkening but not yet pos. We did BD this a.m. wasn't taking any chances waiting till tonight again like last month, that was awful. So thats it here. its snowing like crazy...no Florida weather here!

hi ladies- well got my results back from the doc. prog was 19. and BFN on my bloodtest... onto my 19th cycle. so depressed!! ugh....ya know i didn;t even know he was doing a blood preg. test until after I got the blood taken. in some respect i wish he didn't. hold out hope for another week..

linds99 - January 9

Lyric, Isn't 7 days post ovulation doing a pregnancy test too early!! why would he do that? My clinic never did that with me, just checked progesterone 7 dpo/HCG shot...that pregnancy hormone elevates in the blood right away, but some women don't implant until 7-10 days after ovulation, so his rational makes no sense to test for pregnancy now.

linds99 - January 9

And, BTW, your progesterone levels are really good though for this cycle at 19...that is real good.

lyric - January 9

thanks linds. ya know i wondered the same thing.. may be it was too early..i am only 9dpo.. you think 19 was good? last month was 32..i know anything over 15 is acceptable. i guess i was just hoping it was around the same thing...maybe i will hold out hope a little while longer... thanks. how are you feeling?

linds99 - January 9

I feel fine. Just really tired, it is starting to get progressively worse as the days go on to be at work and when I get home, I eat and go to bed...anyway, seriously, I would normally not say this, but I would give it a few more days at least to test on your own. I personally would not be satisfied with his "rash" judgement with the blood. I even read at my clinic in a magazine while in the waiting room that REs are finding that a large portion of women using infertility treatments see a slight delay in the normal time that a baby would implant for a few possible reasons, including hormone imbalance or uterine lining issues. Babies are known to implant about 3-10 days after ovulation, that is a big window if you ask me...Again, I normally wouldn't tell anyone to "hold out hope", but if I were you, I would not be satisfied with that early blood test...
