1st iui think I have disappointment in store

I have 3 children, (by a previous partner) aged,13, 10 and 8 and conceived them all naturally without even trying, all 3 were....Little surprises. I have now been married 7 years to my wonderful husband. He has no children and we have never used contraception. We have been told by professionals that we are 'Just Unlucky'
So, I had my 1st iui on the 25th Nov, must admit I couldn't wait to see if it had worked so on the Sunday 5th (10 days after insemination) I did a test. I'd had the booster on midnight Tuesday prior to the iui procedure and was aware the test may be a false positive, however I wasn't prepared for a Negative result, :((
So, what did I do...I tested again on Tuesday, now 12 days past iui, still a Negative. I have my blood test on Friday and that will be the end of this horrible 2 week wait. Does anyone know if it could be possible that I will have a positive result on Friday or does getting a Negative mean that it will stay Negative. Thanks in advance for any advice. NJ, x

NickiJ- It could still be possible. I had my first iui last month and tested 12 (Fri) days after and got a BFN! Af came that Monday but was a little weird so I tested that night and got a BFP and the doc confirmed it the next day. It didnt end up the way I wanted it and I lost it but it can happen for you. Just a couple days can make a big difference. Best of luck and hope you get your BFP soon!! Baby dust!!
