Hi Mega, I will be using Clomid with the IUI. Then on CD 11, I get another U/S done and give myself an injection that night then I go back on CD 13 to be inseminated. Is that what you did?

Sara, Do you usually O pretty early in your cycle then? If you tend to O later in the cycle, you may have to go back for 2 u/s or more. Then that will determine when to take the trigger. But my dr also had me do the iUI 36 hours after the IUI, like it sounds like your dr is suggesting. That protocol is similar to what I did yes. I did 4 or 5 IUIs with Clomid and now I'm on my 2nd injectible IUI cycle. Good luck. I hope the results of the SA come back improved. SA's can vary quite a bit month to month.

Hi guys! I'm taking classes, so that is filling my days. Wow you guys were chatty today:) I take EPO for CM. You can switch to Fish Oil after O. My trigger shot--- One word-OW! I'm not a wimp. Shots don't bother me, but this has me sore. I sure hope it works. I didn't even realize until I got home that she put a bandaid on it. I took it off and it was full of blood. It will be worth it if we are successful. Blessings to all.

Soimpatient- She had blood work done for my hypothyroidism. I had a lot of spotting and am old. That was all my dr. needed to prescribe it. She just mentioned the trigger shot (profasi) as a matter of fact when she prescribed the clomid. I had to up my thyroid medicine and wait 3 months to get it tested and insure it was back in order. And here we are now. That is a big part of my story:)

Mega-I do not ovulate early in my cycle. I guess this must be protocol for everyone once all the blood tests etc.. results come in. I get 1 U/S done on cd3 and bloodwork done to check hormone levels. Then like I said before I take Clomid for 5 days then get another U/S don on cd11 then give myself an injection then get inseminated on cd13. I'm not on anything right now so my periods are very irregular 35-45 days normally but I'm currently on cd56!!! I will be taking a preg test this weekend if af doesn't show up by then.

Hi again, Mega-I was wondering if you every had to cancel an IUI b/c of too many follicles or too few? The clinic mentioned something about this. I was just curious. Hi Colleen and soimpatient.

Mega - June 8

Hi ladies. Sara--Sometimes in IUI, b/c of the risk of multiples, if you produce more than 5 or 6 mature follies some clinics will cancel the IUI. Others just discuss selective reduction if/when you get PG with multiples. Varies clinic to clinic. But I've never heard of cancelling an IUI for too few follies, but of course if your follie growth stalls (doesn't grow any bigger) then of course you'd have to cancel the IUI. I did have that happen once, I became Clomid resistant mid cycle. My follies started out doing really well then they totally quit growing. I have PCOS though, so it's not uncommon to become resistant after taking Clomid for a long period of time. The risk of growing too many follicles is mainly if you do injectibles, few people have that issue with Clomid. Has your dr suggested using Provera to induce your AF, if you're not pg? I've had to use that several times myself. You take it for 7 to 10 days & then around 3 or 4 days later AF comes. Colleen--Hi! What classes do you take? Sorry the trigger shot was so painful. I've never used Profasi before--there are several different brands of Hcg triggers. Is it taken InterMuscular (IM) (in the butt)? Maybe next time you could ask her to prescribe Ovidrel, that's taken subcutaneously (in the tummy) and the needle is a lot shorter & it's less painful. Though my tummy has a bit of padding. :) I did the Ovidrel this time, & a IM trigger last cycle. My DH must've hit a bad spot like your dr might have b/c my butt was hurting for like 2 weeks. Not to scare you, hopefully yours won't be that bad. And I'm not a shot whimp either, I'd been taking injectibles for 2 cycles where I'd get shots in my butt. But I think that shot was so bad b/c maybe DH had used the same location twice. Good luck with the BD!

BabyFever - June 8

Thanks Mega for the info! I am starting clomid tomorrow for the first time so I would hate to have any interactions. I'm nervous enough as it is - side effects and MULTIPLES! My doc did tell me about Robitussin though, but I'm not sure when and how. Also I've heard about baby aspirin, but I may just try clomid only for this month. Any other advice is welcome!!!

Mega - June 8

You're welcome! Good luck with the Clomid BabyFever. Hopefully you'll be a 1st time success story. Do twins run in your family? If so then combined with Clomid you'll have more of an edge, otherwise it's rare so they say to conceive twins. But then I have read lots of twins on Clomid success stories so you never know I guess. The odds of twins however increases a lot with injectibles. I'd love to have twins! If you decide to use Robitussin, you take it starting about 5 days before you O & up to the day after so, and make sure you only use the PLAIN Robitussin. Another option is ordering PreSeed sperm friendly lube online, it's a little spendy but it really helps combat the Clomid dryness (it can dry up your EWCM). I don't know for sure if there would be interactions with EPO & Clomid but I remember Fertility Blend for women wasn't supposed to be used with Clomid so I wasn't sure if it was the same for EPO or not. But it's just a good rule of thumb to discuss any of this stuff with your dr. That's why they get the big $$$s! :) Baby dust!

Yep -It seems to be intramuscular. I knew it might hurt when she asked me what side I sleep on:) It still hurts! Then DH smacked me on the butt right where I am sore. I am sick to my stomach this evening. Well I guess I'm in that lovely 2ww now. I hope this works. Good luck eveyone.

Mega - June 8

Hcg trigger shot can definitely make you nausous, I gag more easily too. Fun fun. Just think, it'll be a nice dress rehersal for when you are pg. I hope you feel better soon though. And hopefully the soreness will go away soon. Smacking your butt on the shot location--that sounds just like the type of thing my DH does to me. Too funny. Just think, if they had to put up with 1/2 what we do, they'd be crying about it. LOL! Well, welcome to the 2 WW! Good luck...

Hey! Done with my mentoring classes. Very boring to sit there when I have other things on my mind and everyone else at the table has children. I know=bad attitude. I don't mean it like it sounds. Shot site is bruised and sore still. No more sick stomache. Now my whole uterus area just feels sore/ irritated. Opk showed a dark line today. I guess that means I will O in the next day. I felt like I already had, but maybe not. BD 4x in the last 2 days. I wonder if that is enough or whether I should try again tomorrow a.m. Hope you're all feeling well today.

ColleenD - June 12

Mega- Miss you! Hope you feeling okay. I just feel really tired. DH catches me falling asleep watching tv and says "sleepy girl". Hope everything is going great for you.
