Hi I'm new to most of this I do have one daughter is who is 5 I had her when I was 22 I don't remember it being difficult to become pregnant then, then again I wasn't trying to concieve. My doctor gave me a rx for clomid I chose the generic form clomiphene citrate its 50 mg, I have actually had it filled for about 3 months yet and havent takin it. I want to start taking it my next cylcle which should be around the 25-27 of this month. For the last couple days I have been taking a multivitamin (centrum), folic acid 800mcg, fish oil omega 3 1000 mg, b-12 500 mcg. My husband has been taking the mulit-vit, folic acid, fish oil, and B12 as well. All of the things were mentioned above on the internet to prepare my body. My doctor recommended to start the clomid on days 5-9 funny thing is he is a new OB of mine and does not speak to well of english or I just can't understand him well. He didn't run any test I told him we wanted to have another child and he pulled out the rx pad. I didn't even know what clomid was until I came home and googled it that evening and I was a bit floored that he prescribed it to me without knowing much history. Anyways we have been having unprotected intercourse for the past 8 months with no results so maybe we do need it. Basically I'm on here for two reason first one for support from people doing the same as I, and adivice on clomid and its results. so I have a few questions that I would like to ask. First one is what days have better results? I've seen several and don't know why my doc said 5-9 without knowing much history or even my cylcle length. Is there anything else we can do to increase the result of clomid like robitussin, baby asprin, lubricants, sexual postions and any other things ya'll might know. All these vitamins we are taking is that really linked to concieving or is it pointless. Also husbands father is a twin would that affect us? also I am a diet pepsi junkie started trying to drink more water but still crave my diet soda and drink anywhere from 3-6 a day will this affect anything? What time of the day is it best to take the clomid or anything else you reccomend I take? I think that is it for now and would have asked the doc all this but as I said couldn't really understand him. Currently I'm looking for a new Ob.Thanks ladies and good luck to you all.
I don't know some of the abbreviations ya'll use either and I plan on staying on this site if ya'll could help me learn some that would be helpful.
oh and Happy Easter and Good Friday to all

Hello. I just started taking clomid so I'm not sure how much help I can be. I didnt get much direction either. I took the generic as well 100 mg this month. I forgot on day 5, so took it day 6-9. I was very emotional (which I am naturally), my boyfriend and I got into fights and it was uncontrollable, almost crazy like. Then it subsided the day after the last pill. I have had some unusual pain in my ovaries so I can tell it is doing something. We had sex on day 13, and this morning, day 15. It hurt having sex and I'm not sure if it had anything to do with it or not.

Goodluck!

hi kiahleigh, taking vitamins is a good start to a healthy pregnancy, especially floic acid as it helps to prevent birth defects like spina bifida and iron tablets for growing bones, the robitussin is taken for your cm (cervical mucas) when you are on clomid it is known to dry your cm up and or make it hostile for sperm to pass through the uterus the robitussin should only have guifenesan as the main ingrediance or you could try mucinex tablets which i believe are better then the robitussin but they both achieve the same result. its great that dh (dear husband) is taking them as well. go to the web sight fertility friend and it shows you how chart your bbt (basil body temperature) and will help in determining the best days you 0 (ovulate). other abreviation are hpt (home pregnancy tests) opk (ovulating predictor kits) pg (pregnant) af (aunt flow-periods) cd (cycle day) you start your cycle on the first day of your period eg cd1, cd2, cd3 etc, dpo (days post ovulation) eg you may ovulate cd14 so cd15 would 1dpo. there just some of the basics hope they help good luck i am happy to help if you need more info

sorry i forgot the most important one bd (baby dance-intercourse)

Does the drying up effect of CLOMID last? Will the Robitussin help with cervical mucus (more secretion then normal)? It DID dry me out....

littleangelz - June 14th, 2008 8:41 PM

yeah robitussin helps cm but id go the mucinex tablets it has a more controled release and robitussin does taste yuck

LadyDJ - June 15th, 2008 5:40 AM

yeah Robitussin is yuck...but its way more cheaper than mucinex (it can cost you up to $22) So Ive been using the yucky stuff. I checked if I was ovulating this morning...no luck. It is still too early: I took Clomid 1-5 dadays. Dose it matter which days I take clomid?

littleangelz - June 15th, 2008 6:56 AM

ladydj what cd are you? have you been to the web sight fertilty friend it can help you with trying to dermine when you ovulate i use it, you can take your temp daily and record it and even put in different symptoms and it will help you understand your cycle a little more. good luck

LadyDJ - June 18th, 2008 9:52 PM

Today my ovulation test showed that I'm ovulating (yah!). What does CD stand for littleangelz ? How long do will I be ovulating or is it different from woman to woman? What's the best/most effect position to have intercourse?

LadyDJ - June 18th, 2008 10:05 PM

littleangelz: What is the web sight fertility friend? Can you post the link?

littleangelz - June 20th, 2008 5:53 PM

hi ladydj, cd means cycle day you start your cd on the first day of your period eg cd1 and count each day up to your next period. i dont think a specific position will help with the conceiving but i have herd after intercourse put pillows under your bottom to raise your cervix so it helps with the sperm to travel further and also if the woman can orgasm (sorry) cause the spasm can also help with pushing the sperm along. http://www.FertilityFriend.com/
i like this sight cause you can note everything down and it automatically adjust everything for you to give a good indercation of when you ovulate. hope this all helps. if your opk gave you a positive surge then you should be going to ovulate in the next 24 hours and can usually last for up to 72 hours so bd down and hopefully you can get that bfp (big fat positive) in 2 weeks good luck and please let me know how you go
