Does a IUI work the first time?

My husband and I have been going through the clomid treatment for awhile now. My doctor wants to do a IUI. So today is our first one. I am so scared it will not take. I cannot take another negative test. My question is has anyone gotten pregnant with the first one? And if not how many times did it take? I need some positive feed back.

Mu husband and I just had our first IUI on 3/23/11. I only have my left tube and my husband has a low sperm count. Before the IUI, my doctor told me after my Ultrasound that I only had one follicle on the left and two on the right. She thought the chances were very very low that we would conceive. We decided to go for it anyway. Not expecting a positive result, we are pregnant. It is possible to beomce pregnant on your first IUI. I also used Femera - 10 mg. on days 3-7 of my period and then had my trigger shot on day 12 and the IUI on the following day.

wow that is amazing!!! ive also been trying to get pregnat past three years, finally my gynae decided for an IUI, lets hope friends and wish me luck for my IUI next month
